It wasn't their ad, just the book of MSRP items.
Anyone know if headphones/headsets get BF prices anywhere? This is my first year with BF and I really need a nice set of headphones.
Generally speaking, if you think of any one type of item you want to buy, SOMEBODY will have a BF sale on it. Just make sure to check everywhere (Newegg, Best Buy, Frys, MicroC, Sears, TigerDirect, etc etc) a few days before so you have time to check review and decide which one to go for :) Now if you want a specific make/model, that is a matter of hoping. There should however be a headphone/headset sale SOMEWHERE.

I'm looking forward to BF big time this year. With companies not being able to move products at regular prices they will need to try and move large quantities on small margins. The recent swarm of B2G1 deals is evidence enough of that already. Hopefully they have some big plans in the works to try and fight for control of the day =D (Although I'm confident that Amazon will probably end up beating everyone else like usual, haha)

The Gamestop next to where I work said the buy 2 g 1 free on used game sale was that weekend including black Friday.

Need to check more than a week before. Most online deals start appearing on the Monday BEFORE black friday now to beat out B&M stores.

I can't wait for Amazon's BF-related deals. I remember waking up at 3:00 AM to login, buy, and go back to bed. It was awesome.

x3. Seriously, Amazon's deals right now are kicking everyone else's Black Friday's asses. I can't wait to see what theirs will be like. XP

Why were you guys waking up at 3AM? were there special deals that were only applicable at that time?

Any examples??

And was it 3AM est?
Those TRU game deals suck. Especially for 360 and PS3.

That's the toy book which lists retail prices and is just used to give parents and kids an idea of what to get/want for Xmas. This has been stated a few times, they will have an actual BF ad eventually

And whoever asked, Amazon operates on PST so midnight PST is when a lot of deals go live though I remember a lot of deals going live at different times through the day/week.

Also, Cheapy gave us a heads up on almost everything before it went live so there is really no need to wait up for the most part as everything will be known before hand so if nothing interests you, then there is no point to be up just for deals. Still fun to do nonetheless because people are crazy

Amazon for the win. I do wish box stores offered free goodies like they used to do. I am really wanting to camp outside for a Target reusable bag and a smily face pin from Wal mart with I rape Americas main street action.

So what are Sear's Door Busters for this weekend? I thought they were supposed to be doing door busters and BF Now Deals every week from now until BF.

http://www.wkbt.com/Global/story.asp?S=11410133
"Holiday displays have already been in Sears stores for nearly an entire month. In addition, they're starting Black Friday Doorbusters this weekend."

"Sears' sale, which they're calling "Black Friday Now" will continue every weekend until Thanksgiving."

I'm also wondering about the Sears Black Friday sales starting today.. I want to get Forza for $40.. then I could return my copy to Best Buy for another game with the B2G1 offer.

I'm looking forward to Amazon's and maybe Newegg's. Last year I spent the day at home online and this year I'll possibly in New York.. Which I'm sure would be even worse to attempt to go out for.

I think the Sears BF Now are "Doorbuster", which don't include Forza 3, and do seem to include sucktastic deals like crappy multipacks of games. Unless the BF Now deals are different from the BF deals already leaked, which is possible.
Remember that walmart price matched any advertisement last year..
They do that every year. Before I started buying things off internet for BF, I used to just go to Walmart to pricematch all the dvds and games i was going to get via the BF sales. Granted, I miss the people watching i.e. seeing the doorbusters being thrown across the store like a bunch of monkeys flinging poo.

Lol... never too early for a CAG'er

But in all seriousness... with everything being online, just be ready to click away...

last year i had fun.
went to radio shack for a cheap dual shock 3
target for cheap deadspace
and Best buy for dvd's i dont know if i actually got anything there though

Some B&M stores also have deals on Thanksgiving. Last year Meijer had 9.99 on select Blu-rays.

Last year I snagged cheap Boom Blox and Dead Space from Target(bought on Wednesday then adjusted on Friday night).

Got the .99 track pack from GS for RB 2 as well.

I prefer camping and driving on BF, it's more like a tradition for me. waking up extra early or camping for hours.. this experience comes once a year, it's like christmas to me :)

How early do you usually have to get there on Black Friday at stores in the suburbs? Is it a midnight launch type of thing, or is it just crowded as hell when the store opens.

5 or 6 years ago I used to go to Best Buy at about 2am and was like 8th in line. Then about 3 years ago I went at 11pm on Thanksgiving and the line was around the store and to the dumpster. Thats when I said screw this, not worth it. Bunch of ebayers thinking they can turn around and sell cheap ass stuff that people only want because its cheap at normal or above prices and make tons of money. Now I read on Black Friday sites people getting their Thanksgiving morning. Forget that, isn't anything that cheap worth it. I will stick with amazon or other deals during the year.

DJ Hero Door Buster $60 bucks limit 4 per store.

Best Buy will have some HP NetBook for $150 its really cheap like 20 per store. I saw them today. They must have had 100 boxes of these tiny laptops

I've never camped out, but you know it's bad when there are professional campers that you can pay for a spot in line.

Nice intel, got an ad you can smuggle out?

I've heard that and I just don't get it. For instance just you watch and see. All summer i've been seeing laptops on sale regularly at Best Buy and Walmart for $300. Now one or both of those stores are going to have a laptop on Black Friday for like $300 or $250 and people are going to go all crazy over that totally forgetting or just not paying attention to the regular sales that have been going on already all summer. I truly believe some people just like sitting in line for the hell of it. Scratch that, I have read on some of those Black Friday boards people admitting they like to camp out in line.

I do go out on Black Friday still but its only to hit Garden Ridge in the morning after scanning Amazon for deals. Which is nice because there isn't many people there, they are waiting in lines at the big stores like Best Buy or Walmart and Garden Ridge is always like 3rd or so on their lists. Then I stroll into Gamestop if they had anything I was interested in, get some breakfast and am home by 11am to put up the Christmas decorations. A much easier stress free day for me than before.

Comcast and Sprint have been giving those things away for free around here. I know alot of people that are going to be suckered by those thinking they are full fledged laptops. I was thinking about getting the free one from Comcast before just to use it to remote into my pc at home to watch videos and stuff.

Umm, I wouldn't consider having to sign a 2 year contract to get them free. 2 years of Comcast would cost you over $2,500 and from what I've heard, plenty of headaches. It's decent if you're going to get that anyway but having to sign a 2 year contract isn't free. And the Sprint deal is just like a cell phone, they give you the hardware for free but you have to sign up for an expensive data service to use it.

The $150 netbooks are a good deal for people who want something small for just checking email and surfing the net and that are just going to use it at wifi spots and don't want the expensive data service.

It's just a game of semantics. I can find you 10 people that love Comcast and 10 people that hate them, I can say the same for every cable provider and every cell phone provider, it really comes down to your own experience.

And it is free, yes if you sign a contract. There are people that absolutely have to not be locked in a contract for one reason or another, or there is people like me that don't feel the need to carrier hop every other month and have been with sprint for 6 years now and have gotten 3 new phones for resigning. If i'm going to pay for a service I might as well as get something for it.

And yes, the netbooks have their place, just like everything else. They ARE different, and cheaper than a laptop for a reason though and I can guarantee you there will be alot of people this holiday getting one thinking they are getting a deal that are going to end up sorely disappointed. Working in tech support I already have stories of people getting suckered by these things and not knowing what they really got.

"Put the CD in? But where do I put the cd in at? I don't see a spot to put in at on this laptop. This is a netbook, does that make a difference?"

Uggghhh

i can find at least 100 people who hate comcast for every 10 people you can find that love comcast (that don't work for comcast and get "free" cable/internet/voip as a perk of their employment). comcast blows chunks.
