Nice. Will check to see if the sale is going on during my lunch break tomorrow.

Jealous that you were able to find Hot Rod. Went to 5 different BBVs and no luck at all finding it. No luck during the previous sale either.
Sale ended Monday.

I literally tripled my blu-ray collection with this sale the past two times. Ordered a 100 viva elite cases from discmakers and am in the process of switching all the cases. I almost never want to buy a new release blu-ray for more than $15, if that, ever again. Just wait for these sales. lol

I was referring to this:
They have a 4 for $20 and 2 for $20 sale going on instead of the 5 for $20 and 3 for $20.
...not the 5 for $20.

what stores did a 4 for 20? sale probably still ended the same time the other ones did.
I picked up extras to trade, if anyone is interested.

I have 2 extra The Girl Who Played With Fire
I have 1 extra Predators
I have 1 extra each of Red Cliff Pt 1 and Pt 2

I am looking to trade, not sell. 360 games or Blu-Rays, either/or. Games I am looking for specifically: Halo 3 ODST, Modern Warfare 1 or 2.

Movies (blu-ray only): The Town, any of the Bournes etc... Not sure, I am pretty open to any offer when it comes to movies provided they aren't total crap/I already own them/or they aren't blu-ray.

Or hit me with an offer in PM.
Well, I no longer need Smackdown vs Raw 2010 and Predators is officially gone. Just shipped it out today.

I checked 2 stores yesterday and they both have a 4 for $20 and 2 for $20 going on. Maybe HB can add something on this.
the 4 for $20 and 2 for $20 are just the normal everyday deal that is ongoing. it used to just be regular dvd's 4 for $20 but ever since the memorial day sale blu ray is included in the 4 for $20 deal. the 2 for $20 is just regular dvd's.

Cool, good to know, thanks HB. Question for you - how much does it cost to just keep a $.99 blu ray rental? There are a few I'd like to add to my collection, and I wondered how much I'd have to pay if I didn't return it. Thanks.
Ok, I wasn't sure if it was the same for all of them.
you can bring it to the counter and ask if the copy is available for purchase and they'll convert to PVP.

Pretty sure they aren't, as I only saw one copy of each in the store.

HB, I found a couple of Blu-rays in my store for $5.99. Do all BBV stores sell $5.99 BDs or is it just my store putting stuff out on clearance? If it isn't too much work is it possible for you to list a few $5.99 BD's? Thanks.

this isnt rare. I bought quite a few blurays marked $5.99 during the 5 for $20. These will still be cheaper with the current 4 for $20.

I know SemiPro was one marked $5.99. Cant recall the rest.

2 of the 3 stores around here have $5.99 blu rays so not sure how prevalent they are everywhere else. Those are the leftovers from the $.99 sale during memorial day and will stay at that price til they are gone. I list a few titles tomorrow.

i don't think they were just leftovers from the $.99 blus. The ones I bought marked $5.99 were that price during the Memorial day sale while still having the separate $.99 blus.

If they have the UPC covered with a white sticker or covered up somehow those are the ones that were $.99 and went back to their regular $5.99 price. They all fall under 1 generic part #.

not all the $.99 blus were originally $5.99. Some were $9.99 titles. And the way you are saying this its like all the $5.99 blus at any store should have been included in the $.99 sale in which they weren't.

All the $.99 blus started at $5.99 as that was the starting point on Friday and they went down progressively til they hit $.99 on Monday. Then went back up to $5.99 and have stayed that price.

In my store(I've never seen it at any other store either)$5.99 is not a normal price point for any pre viewed movies except for those blus that are under the same part #.

The $5.99 blu were never anything from stores that got marked down. They all came from closing stores so you might see one movie priced at $5.99 and on another table see the same movie priced at $9.99. It's just excess inventory from closing stores that they decided to lump them all under the same sku and make $5.99.

quite confusing, but whatever. The store I found the $5.99 titles at for the memorial day sale that they sold out of the $.99 blus yet they had a few titles marked $5.99 mixed in with the $9.99 titles. Are you saying that store lied to me and jumped the price up on the $.99 blus and mixed them in with the $9.99 blus? And this was during Memorial Day not Independence day where I could understand the $5.99 blus mixed in.

Luckily I found a gem in my 5.99 section at my store... all at a store that didnt participate in the .99 sale a while back... The Girl that Kicked the Hornet's Nest... got to complete the trilogy...

on my store here in california, the manager told me that they keeped 2 of 5 boxes of $5.99 blus that should be included on the 99 cents sale on the memorial day, he told me that they will do the same deal on 4th of july but it never happened not sure why, so they juxt mix it together with the other $9.99 blus and include it on the 5 for $20 deal.

Too quiet around here! No official word yet on the next 5 for $20 BD sale, bu I'm going to guess the first weekend in September we'll see the next one.

Maybe. If I remember correctly, HB said he had never seen a Blu Ray sale like this when the first one hit.
We had two in rapid succession. It would be nice if it is something that will be happening pretty often though. I spent a ton of cash on Blu's I wouldn't have ever bought from them and I imagine other people did as well.
be better is .99 blus returned. :)
I'm gonna go nuts if .99 blus return anytime soon.

Unfortunately my local BBV saw none of these .99 blus, made me very sad

but definitely looking forward to the next 5 for $20, there were a ton of great movies available!

Looks like the 5 for $20 BD sale is back on! If anyone finds the Bourne movies, and picks them up for trade, let me know! I can hunt down titles that you're looking for.
Where can i find a update 9.99 under movie list? thanks
oy, you'd think a 3 yr vet would at least check the OP first then ask or even better, read a few pages....

Lucky. Despicable Me was marked $12.99 the last time around and they refused to sell it to me as part of this deal.

I already have HTTYD and Toy Story 3 and don't care about the others, but damn you for getting Despicable Me.

Damn! those are some really great movies. I've never seen Where the Wild Things Are, but every movie is worth it.

How is WtWTA?
Hawaii boy posted that there has been no new drops since the sale ended in july
I don't want to contradict you or Hawaiiboy, but I dont remember Inception, The Town, Dispicable Me, or the American being $9.99 during the last sale. I might be wrong. Maybe they dropped in price during the last part of the july sale and I wasn't paying attention.

I saw WtWTA at a BBV store today also and was wondering the same thing. I heard that adults might not be that into it but IDK. I'm 23 years old, but I still like children's movies if they are good. For example, I absolutely loved How to Train Your Dragon, Princess and the Frog, and Tangled.

^I'm 20 and I absolutely loved those movies as well. How to Train Your Dragon is one of my favorite movies of all time.

I actually didn't enjoy Where the Wild Things Are and this is coming from a kid who must've read the book at least a hundred times. I just couldn't get into it.

I must have read the book dozens of times as well. If i see it the next time i go to my nearest BBV, I don't know if i would blind buy it when there are a bunch of other great movies(that I am familiar with) available. But then again, $4 is not a bad deal at all.

I thought Where the Wild Things Are wasn't a kids' movie but rather a movie about kids...thus making it for adults instead. It's something where you've had to have "been there" and matured out of a certain stage of your life to appreciate. I might even go so far as saying some college-age people might not be beyond that stage yet. (That said, maturity isn't necessarily defined by age.) I loved it, personally. One of my favorites that year.

(No potshots intended your way Tsel; I don't know you well enough to know if my pigeon-holing would end up including you. There certainly might be other reasons it didn't resonate with you.)

That's what kind of offset me on the whole movie. I know it was intended for an entirely separate audience, but that wasn't really what I was looking for. In retrospect, I like it more than when I first watched it. The movie is just really deep, is all.

just got back from my nearest BBV with a small mother-load:

Lord of The Rings 1-3
Grown Ups
Push
The water Horse (got kids)
The Kids Are All Right
Kick-Ass
From Paris With Love
Lottery Ticket
Brothers
Dinner for Schmucks
Dreamgirls
Where the Wild Things Are
Vicky Christina Barcelona ( had to get one for the misses for good measure :) )

Between this and the last few sales im up to 50 Blu's added to my collection. two more trips left for this sale.

^LOL Vicky Cristina Barcelona was actually the one I got for my misses as well. She was nice enough to not make me watch it with her.

Oh snap, I want Kick-Ass on blu-ray. Do you know if this is one of those rental versions? Regardless, I'm buying that one if I see it.
^LOL Vicky Cristina Barcelona was actually the one I got for my misses as well. She was nice enough to not make me watch it with her.
LOL. Yeah there's no redeemable quality to be found in that chick flick woody allen film. I mean, who on earth would want to watch lesbionic 3-way action between Scarlett Johanson and Penelope Cruz. :applause: That's not entertaining at all. :bouncy:

Lots of the same BDs from the last sale with quite a few new ones added in. Considering picking up the following:

Brothers
The American
Sherlock Holmes
Rambo
Despicable Me

They also had Inception, Taken, Hulk, Predators and more.

A few years ago when I had GameRush/BBV credit, I was looking for a copy of Vicky Christina Barcelona to buy there because generally there wasn't a decent sale price anywhere else, thus maximizing my credit. Because I have a tendency to slip into accents when saying foreign words or phrases, I always asked for it with a Spanish lisp. I wonder if the clerks thought I had a speech impediment.

Picked up a few ones I have been wanting

The Losers
Toy Story 3
How to Train Your Dragoon
Nightmare on Elm Street
Friday the 13th (the ORIGINAL movie)
