Starting tuesday/possibly friday through 6/6, blockbuster will have 5/$20 on all previously viewed :dvd: & :br: movies priced $9.99 or less.

Supposedly you need a password to take advantage of this sale beginning 5/17 but its not necessary, sale for everyone begins friday 5/20

Yeah, no it doesn't. I work in a NJ store, and it's impossible for those movies to have rang up that way. Take a picture of the receipt and I'll believe it.
 
do stores get a new stock of blurays each day? my local blockbusters sold out of the LOTR trilogy yesterday, and i don't know whether or not to go back today
 
Yeah I'm guessing this isn't allowed. Those were probably the only copies of those movies left in the store, that's why they weren't put out for sale.

I had no luck finding Toy Story 1 or 2, but my store had plenty of Takens. I noticed they were behind the display, where only the employees could reach them. I wonder why.

Also, is Despicable Me eligible? I noticed it was by Taken, but it was marked $16.99.

In fact, why dont you go ahead and show a picture if the barcode. No way it went down the way you said. You can ask Hawaiiboy and he'll tell you the same thing.

Btw, I have to wonder why if this was such a great deal at your local store, you felt the need to hide the store location from your other local cag's. Still reeks of b.s. To me. The only way you actually could have gotten rental copies as part of this sale would be if the employee fraudulently typed them in as prp movies. Maybe you have a friend working in this store?
 
yeah, i agree with specter, there is no way it would work that way. they could have been prp's that the story was too lazy to take off the .99 cent rental stickers? if they truly did scan the movies what does the barcode begin with? its either a 3 or 4.
 
I got a over 40 at the .99 cent sale. so im extremmly picky this time around to make sure their worth it.

all you people calling shen, lol. we already figured it out on the bluray forums. All rentals qualify to be purchased. If cashier overrides to buy, BAM. counts in the system as a 9.99 buy and included in sale.

sorry, i did it for a reason. protect me and the cashier. if what he/she did was indeed wrong. i will not allow him/her to get in trouble and me possibly banned from local chain. I've done the same when posting reciepts, products etc. I do the same for Kmart, BB, BBV, toysrus gamestop etc.

specter is not wrong. there is a way for them to sell you the rentals BUT your receipt shows it was done on a non member account which is positively not possible and the receipt doesnt reflect it being done the only way they could sell you a rental. based on the receipt you posted they had to have already been PVD's unless they manually punched in the numbers to sell you a used movie which will show up on a report and you wont see the employee there the next time you go in.
 
If anyone is still here that doesn't care about this scam, could you please tell me how many discs Toy Story 3 is?
The only reason I ask is because when playing it the device calls it Disc 1 and the disc says "feature" on it which I found odd. It seems to have all the bonuses as the DVD so I can't tell if there is supposed to be a second disc or not.

i believe it was supposed to be part of the 2 disc retail set, but Blockbuster has there own rental copies that probably only come with the first disc. I've had this same thing happen with other Blockbuster bluray and dvd purchases.

I think the BBV version is the 1 disc version even the cover art has "1-disc blu-ray" printed on it.

it is the 1 disc version, but I think they use the same disc for the 1 disc version as the 1st disc of the 2 disc versiion, in which it will say disc 1 on the disc even though all your getting is 1 disc anyways.
 
Picked up at Toy Story(special edition), girl with dragon tattoo, girl played with fire, kill bill 2 and district 9. Need to find TS2 and 3, and kill bill 1.

The Girl That Kicked The Hornet's Nest isnt part on the sale. SO I wouldnt waste a trip seeking it out.
 
Oh, no, those are the ones I got! :) They'd marked The Girl ... Hornet as 9.99$, so they let me get a copy of it for that price (therefore making it work with the 5 for 20$). The lady was really nice! :D

I need to find the Girl ... Fire one, I believe, so I can have all three!
