OTHER INFO

I consider deals confirmed when I receive the MAP on every other Thursday. The Map outlines promos and how the store is to be layed out and includes the barcodes for the deals. Also we get the new trade flyers that day as well with new trade values and deals.

Deals usually end on close of business on Monday and begin on open Tuesday (some special ones do start on Thursday usually around labor day, memorial day, etc.)

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to (and as I have done but that was only because I was tired of crap PS1...).

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

i might hate saying this, but i really think gamerush should put restrictions on a lot of older games for this deal. it is sad to see how people take advantage of the system. trust me people, you dont need to take advantage of the system to have a lot of credit and games paid for. i have 380 in credit and 21 games paid for, and i have never once flipped, or traded more than 2 of a game in one day. maybe ive traded in 8 powerdromes in the course of 3 months, but that is perfectly ok. yes, im sure blockbuster isnt thrilled with that, but i dont break any of the rules. i just really feel blockbuster needs to make a more extensive restriction list. ive been tempted to flip many times, but my local gamerush has been so nice to me, i would honestly feel pretty low if i did it. please people, dont be greedy.

anyway, had an extra copy of powerdrome laying around for PS2, got 7 as usual.

i was really disspointed with eb. its at a huge outdoor mall, and all of their preowned games are all mixed, not even in order by name, genre, etc. for me to find some good games to trade, it would take me a few hours to search, no lie. they have a few thousand boxes on the shelves, and to find 3 games would be too frustrating, and the employees were no help. no preorders for me. ive said this many times, but i think i will just wait until i am done with some of my current games (lumines, twisted metal(PSP), chaos theory, and advent rising when i get it) and trade them towards some xbox 2 titles.

Anybody know when Gears of War, PoP 3 and Battlefront 2 will be in the system? BTW I recently per-ordered Half-LIfe 2, James Bond: From Russia With Love, Timeshift and Shadow of Colossus...they are now in the system.

is the star wars episode 3 game any good? should i get that or midnight club 3? im leaning towards midnight club 3 since im not a big SW fan, and if i get MC3 for xbox, i will skip the PSP version. wish my GR had UC2 used.

Get Midnight Club. Episode 3 would only be enjoyable for Star Wars fans. You will get more hours of enjoyment out of MC3.

I picked up Episode 3 for $5 at GR last week, its a pretty dumb button-masher, like those Lord of the Rings games. Most gamers could probably breeze through it in about a week...its the usual forgettable movie tie-in game.

And now today:

Xbox Syberia : $3
Xbox ESPN NFL 2K5 : $5
GC Prince of Persia : $7

Picked up Psychonauts for $5.

ill be getting MC3. since i am getting the xbox version for $5, i can cancel the psp version and get 54 back in credit. great stuff.

Well that's where I got mine a couple of weeks ago :) I was at CC today but didn't see any more, so I can't confirm if they're still 1.99. Powerdrome still $4.96 though!
As long as its over 2-3 days I don't really forsee an issue
Thanks, CoryCubed. I will try to stick to the deals from now on because too many people have asked questions instead of posting deals or trade-in values.
do you know if circuit city is still selling prince of persia (GC) for 1.99?
Yes, they are. I picked up a copy at the Pearland,TX CC yesterday. They had three left after I picked up mine.

My local Circuit City had some more Xbox Powerdrome Racing's today. I got 2 of them at $4.96 each. I think they're still worth $11 at GR right?

Does anyone know what Midnight CLub 3 and Mercenaries get? (XBOX)

Also, what does Deus Ex and NBA Live 2004 get?

Hopefully my store has some good pre-owned left....they usually do.

Any XBOX 360 news yet?

i got the ad on sunday so i'm assuming it would be good starting then. if you want to play it safe, i'd suggest going in on tuesday :)

too bad i don't have a scanner or else i'd put up a few pictures for you alls.

i forgot to add in my previous post... on the bottom of the ad in small print, it says

"BLOCKBUSTER guarantess the best trade value and will beat any competitor's printed regular trade price by 10%. See store for complete details of Best Prices Gaurantee policy." :D

I stopped at my local store today and they had nothing up about b2g1 deal. There was also no one around to ask and I had to roll to get supper going. Over Spring Break they had signs everywhere advertising that sale. Should I assume it's still going on?

daroga

crap, do you guys think GR will lower chaos theory's trade in value? i really wanted to save them until they get next gen games in the sysem, but if the price will drop, ill need to trade them. also, what does GR give for madagascar?

Also of note....FREE fantasy Football Subscription with PRE-ORDER of Madden 2006.

I may have to pre-order some more games rather than the trade 3 deal

I am modifying the thread slightly to include traditional stores as well as most of the deals are simliar save for new stuff and there are what is called "frontline" stores that do carry the new games with the deal but are not a full fledge Game Rush
Any XBOX 360 news yet?
Well i went in today and was shocked to see a pic of the 360. It was on their Gamerush counter. It showed the system and i believe 2 controllers. The words COMING SOON were typed i think at the bottom. I asked immediately what was it about. She told me theyre taking names and will call the people on the list as soon as they get a part number. I was the first person on the list. You could only put your name down for ps3 or 360 i saw no Revolution. Cant wait until they call with price. I already have games preordered that they told me theyll switch to next-gen games. So that covers about 8 or 9. So ill be set. Just waiting on the price of the 360.

Cory, since I have but ONE GR combined where I live and the 3 other major metro areas I regularly travel to (DC, Bay Area, Phoenix-Tucson), is there a list anywhere where I can find out which stores are these "frontline" stores? Do they do the 2 for $29.99 new/preorder deal?

I know I'll pre-order there....my GR is not THAT busy anyways.

Midnight Club 3 gets 34. Don't ask me why not 35, but yesterday it netted me 34.

Does anyone know what Thief for Xbox, Tomb Raider for PS2 (I think the Angel of Darkness one), and Pac-Man Fever for PS2 get? I've seen these on clearance at Target and wondered if they would make good trade fodder. Thief was $7.48, the others were $4.98. I had a feeling they weren't worth it, though perhaps they would be break-even trades, which is fine for me if I'm using them for the preorder deal. I will ask next time I'm in GR, but that won't be for a few days probably (and mine won't quote over the phone).

I have no real way of finding out, especially those that far away. Pretty much if they sell any new games above $19.99 than they are a frontline store.

I'm pretty sure the deal is good at those frontline stores though. The Game Rush map usually mentions GameRush and Frontline stores only as well as emails we receive.

No problem - I was hoping maybe there was a map on some obscure BB web page. Actually, is there a map showing even just GR locations? The only way I know how to find them is to type in zip codes - but if I'm travelling (particularly driving) I'd like to check along the route to see if there are any.
Thats why I want to pick one up. That Castlevania game looks amazing!
The one where you have to write seals during combat on the touchpad? If so, then yes..badass idea.

That PSX memory card deal is sweet. I've needed memory cards for all the games I've picked up between GR and GC. I can't believe I actually paid 6 for one with credit a few months ago and they are a buck now
Midnight Club 3 gets 34. Don't ask me why not 35, but yesterday it netted me 34.
This is good news, I picked it up using the trade 3 pay 5 deal. Also got UT Championship for 5$

Xbox Brother in Arms traded for 30$
Does anyone know what Thief for Xbox, Tomb Raider for PS2 (I think the Angel of Darkness one), and Pac-Man Fever for PS2 get? I've seen these on clearance at Target and wondered if they would make good trade fodder. Thief was $7.48, the others were $4.98. I had a feeling they weren't worth it, though perhaps they would be break-even trades, which is fine for me if I'm using them for the preorder deal. I will ask next time I'm in GR, but that won't be for a few days probably (and mine won't quote over the phone).
You won't get anything for Thief for Xbox it trades in for $4.50. I got it at Target too and traded it in on Sunday.
If you look at the hollywood video website, it shows an offer to get 4 used games for $20. Promotion isn't available at all stores, but has anyone had an experience with this, or is it new? Could find some good used to trade in to gamerush.

http://www.hollywoodvideo.com/games/promos.aspx
That's only for games 9.99 and under, which is tough to find at Hollywood Video. Even their old and crappy games were like 12.99. Rather preposterous if you ask you.

I didn't think it warranted a new thread, and it sorta pertains, so:

I used to work for BB, and the computer system as most of you know, is a real turd. Right when I left, I rented RE4 and Paper Mario. I ended up buying them for $22 + tax each.

Just a little tip for those of you to check your receipt when/if you rent from them and to see how much it would be if it auto-sold to you. Sometimes you can get some good deals in there.

This is true. Also some of the older older games if you pay to rent them you may be able to keep them free (if the prp price in the computer is $6.99 or less depending on your stores rental price).

I don't know if this has been answered... but... Will PSX and GBA games work for the 3 for 1 deal?

And would it matter if all 3 games were the same title? TIA
