What a deal...

I'm browsing the BR's and this guy comes up to me and is like, "hey, you know these are b1g1 free?" I was like, "yep". We both proceeded to basically get anything we wanted from the selection they did have. I ended up with about 12 movies. The guy bought about 6 himself. Nothing big. This chinese girl comes up, we tell her. Come back after checking out and she had grabbed 42 movies.

I couldn't resist, I went back and got Superman Returns, Casino Royale, The Fountain, Apocalypto, The Descent and Letter From Iwo Jima for $90. I wanted flags of our fathers and maybe another copy of Transformers to sell but no luck.

EDIT: N/M, looks like the rebate is only good for online orders.
 
My CC was close to being cleaned out of BR. Luckily I managed to find the last two copies of 300, Corpse Bride, and Pursuit of Happyness!

This is nationwide and works for any BluRay under $30. It does depend on if you can get the cashier to do it for you, but most do.

so not even for the ones on the list? I was tempted to go today, but I'm thinking that the six I already have on order from fry's and amazon are plenty. I've got something like fourteen new movies coming my way by the end of october as it is now thanks to this deal.

Worked for me yesterday, but today the scans came up full price. A manager walked up and I asked about the B1G1 deal that was going on yesterday. He said corporate sent an email out informing that they were having trouble getting credited back for the movies from the manufacturer so the deal is done.

Looks like its dead.

Edit: This is Circuit City by the way.
 
I asked my friend who's one of the managers at FYE. They apparently didnt get any end date for the 50% off Sony BR sale. But that doesnt mean that it wont possibly be ending this week. I asked about special orders, she said that the price would be determined on when the items actually got to the store. Rather than making me be tied to a special order, she just placed a 'store stock' order for a buncha BR's i want, just so i wont be required to pay for em in case the sale ends before they come in.

Really does help to know ppl.

So are the prices MSRP in store? Looking online i see alot of 39.99$ Blu-Ray discs....$20 isnt that hot.

When I went to my Target, there were probably no more than 2 or 3 more than whatrs in the ad.

i went next door to my work to FYE today and scored Hellboy, Final Fantasy, and Rescue Me for a grand total of 50 bucks

Most of the discs were $15-20 after discount. Backstage pass takes another 10% off that. You can also get store credit really easily (as cheap as $15 credit for $2 cash). Even at that rate, MSRP is very reasonable.

Rescue Me S3 BR trades for $25 credit. So you could buy it for $21 and make $4 instantly (more if you have a backstage pass).

sorry if anyone has posted this already but i was able to price match at BB w/ Walmart's online price of Pirates 1 which was $25.87 & i used one of my $5 reward zone printouts & got it for $22.59 w/ tax included & still got Pirates 2,im gonna go back & do it again for The Great Raid

Has anyone confirmed Rescue Me ringing up at $20? I called and they said it's $80.
 
I can confirm it, it didnt have the sale tag on it but when i went to one of those listening station kiosks they have strewn about the store i ran it through and it rang up at 20. I promptly bought it.

The signs were up and I grabbed Layer Cake, XXX, and Rescue Me S3.
Brought them up to cashier and they rang up full price. I said they should be 15, 15, 20. He does the 2 15's then hesistates at the 79.99 price tag for Rescue me.
He goes over to check price and says there is no sign.
I go over with him and see a FYE guy with a stack of signs in his hand, who just took them all down.
I barely made getting the sale - so this may be dead.
 
I swung by CC today, was there when they opened. The Blu-ray sale sign was still up complete with list of eligible titles. I grabbed Casino Royale & Memento and proceeded to checkout. They rang up full price, so I told the girl that the sign said buy-1-get-1 through the 20th. She goes back, looks at the sign & confirms the 2 movies I'm getting are on the list, then calls someone. Changes the price of Memento to .01 and rings it on through. :)
 
Good deal argyle. I might have to try that at my local store. I really wanted to get Casino Royale. Any idea if Happy Feet was on that list as well? That's the one my wife wanted for the kids.

Not sure - the list is in the OP tho, so you can check there. I was torn between Memento & Silent Hill, but I went with Memento because I've never seen it but have heard nothing but good about it. Also, even tho I enjoyed Silent Hill I don't typically like horror movies and don't watch them that often - so it wouldn't get watched much I imagine.
