Just watched my first Blu Ray, Crank.

Picture quality is great
Crank is one of the worst blu-rays to watch first. The Picture quality is so amazing you'll expect that from all blu-rays and be disappointed. :D

seems like best buy is now starting to carry more catalog titles

before couldn't find any of the new ones, but today when i went in to spend my gifts they had hidalgo, unbreakable, and independence day and i robot showed up which weren't there before

now only if they'd lower their prices a little

Yeah, if only BB were about $5 cheaper I would shop there more regularly. Too bad that Blu-Ray $5 coupon expired. I finally got my hands on one, and the expiration date was for last month.

Better ask here before I make a thread for it: How does Run Lola Run look in HD on its Blu-Ray transfer? Did they do a good job with it? I've seen it on a bunch of sales (b1G1/B2G1 and its $20 at Walmart), so I'm thinking of getting it.

OK, I'm now officially purple.

Guess I need to spend some time looking at the last couple of weeks for super-cheap deals, unless someone wants to fill me in?

B2G1 at Amazon is all I know at the moment.
Haven't kept up with it in a while.

Where's my Space Ace in Blu-ray? It was released today, and I pre-ordered, but now Amazon says "4-6 weeks." What is it with this Digital Leisure games? When I pre-ordered Dragon's Lair on HD DVD months back, on the release day it said the same thing -- delayed. But then it showed up at my door 3 days later even though I canceled it. Bizarre!

Awesome, I'm on my way to Blu-Ray.

Just bought a new computer from HP and the only thing left is to buy a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray drive from Amazon to put in it. I'm hoping to do that last part some time in the coming weeks.

The PS3 is getting DTS MA decoding this tuesday. (Just in time for your new copy of Firefly on Blu-ray)
And it's the only profile 2.0 BD player available(probably all future revisions too).

So if anyone is wondering what gives you the most bang for your buck, it will officialy be the PS3 on 4/15

Well, we've been able to convert LinkinPrime, so why not add another notch on the belt.

Well it wasn't by choice...HD DVD did die...may it rest in piece

Really, it was either go back to DVDs or drop the $140 for a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray drive for my new computer.

HD-DVD will forever be the superior format in my mind but at least it was around long enough to force Blu studios to stop using shitty MPEG2 transfers and ease up on region coding (even though that last part won't matter to me, I have AnyDVD and it will strip any Blu-Ray of that bullshit :D)

Early releases were regionfree or multiregion to start with.

The format war was excellent for improving standards though, you're right.
Best thing to come out of it, also, the laughs online.
Highly entertaining the whole way.

Though, those are getting harder and harder to find at the sub-$15 prices I'd like to get most at. Damn BOGO's @ Amazon were very dangerous to my wallet, and good for expanding the collection.

Between a PS3 and a XA2, I think I'm covered for a while, until some decent higher-end standalone Profile 2.0 BR players come out, and I think it'll be a little while before that's down to my reasonable price range.
Is the PS3 blue Ray deal over??????????????
Unfortunately, yes. It ended like two weeks before I got my PS3.

anyone pick up category 7?

wondering if anyone noticed the dialogue audio getting really low around 2 hours, 20 minutes (where quaid/brenda from 90210 are in the garage)? for about 10 minutes can barely hear it and there's no subtitles :(

also this movie was ridiculous, watched category 6 and 7 in a row and i dunno how this stuff gets made

fye.com has a $10 rebate on the rambo 1-3 box set making it $26.89 + tax after rebate for members if anyones interested

Hmm...that's tempting. I've actually never seen any Rambo movies.

The PQ on Walk Hard is better than the reviews give it credit for

It's not reference quality by any means, but it's still good

"The studio is set to announce Thursday that the program will kick off in the summer with the recent box office flop "Doomsday.""

Reuters pulls no punches.

sweney todd is coming to the uk on blu ray on may 19th and is region free if people don't want to wait for paramount to start releasing blu ray's

region locking sucks though, optimum home entertainment is releasing so many good horror movies and they all appear to be region locked

quick question for you guys. Anyone know of a link or phone number that I can call to find out the status of my free blurays that I sent away for. It's been almost 5 months without seeing anything and I figured I should check in on them.

thanks,
bill123

Any coupons for The Orphanage?

Also, I had no idea the BluRay Bonnie & Clyde wasn't 5.1 surround. I guess I thought since its BluRay why wouldn't it be.
