Burnout Paradise - General Discussion & Info / TROPHY HUNTERS WELCOME!

I'm having VOIP and controller problems.

I could hear you guys talking over my headset but it wasn't picking up my response.

And every minute or so the red lights on the top of my controller would start flashing and I'd have to push the PS button to sync it up again.

WTF? I quit. Apologies to those I left hanging.

I guess the same happened with hone02 (I think that's the number), except he didn't move at all for like five minutes. Passed out at the wheel maybe? :whee:

Either way, we all had fun today. Lots of laughs to be had today because of dumbingly funny crashes.

yeah sorry about that. It was actually my girlfriend, she came upstairs, so I had to get going. She was sort of upset I was still gaming. Maybe, next week.

1.2 Patch coming April 24th (along with everything else it seems)

TOP 10 Fixes
 • PS3 game can crash when a player is taken down and the player that has performed the Takedown leaves the game.
 • The game indefinitely displays "Connecting to Paradise City Servers" if it's having problems pinging the rebroadcast server.
 • Disconnecting the controller before a race begines can mean that race timings can be manipulated with players who didn't cross the line first being awarded the win
 • Repeatedly joining and leaving a game with 8 players can cause the game to hang.
 • Hammering the A (360) or X (PS3) after unlocking a car can cause the game to hang.
 • East Crawford and Watt St achievements can not be achieved if the player goes online and sets road rules before attempting them.
 • Audio distortion when using 5.1 / DTS and looking rearwards.
 • Enhanced 360 streaming performance stops instances where the game seems to pause for a second or so.
 • Total time driven in player stats would stick at 145 hours :)
 • VoIP connection problems with 8 player games.

I just received it but I won't be playing much but feel free to add me !

Good luck. ;)

Well, Pete and I will be there tonight. Not sure who else.
Good luck. ;)
I was the one who told endlessPRO to join our matches, since you sold it. ;)
Sooo, umm... ehh, yeahh. Will there be Burnout tonight? ;)
Sounds like a few others are playing.

I've got a big "thing" going on at work tomorrow and I've got a ton of prepwork tonight, so no Burnout for me.
hm...I actually like it better than the previous ones....
I do, too. We may be in the minority on this opinion, from what I've been reading.
Not sure if people heard, but there will be custom soundtracks added in a future update. I just gotta find the link.
Thats music to my ears! oh my oh my!

Originally I thought stunt runs were impossible and I would never complete them, but here I am with all events completed, and with the "Millionaire's Club" achievement.

Don't forget if anyone is playing tomorrow, there'll be a patch to download first.

I really suck at stunt runs, those are my worse events.. Is there a stunt run FAQ anywhere? I'm sure they have to be done in a certain order for each event to get the best score.

These 2 areas are where I get all my points. Ugly map:

On the railroad tracks, there are a bunch of ramps and billboards in a row that rack up a big multiplier. Same for the bridge in the south. On the bridge, I start out going west, hitting some jumps and billboards, then turn around and get the jumps I missed (flatspinning can add more multipliers too.) Then as I'm coming off the bridge facing east, hang a right onto the shipping containers, and just stay to your right. There are about 8 jumps in a row, with billboards to hit, you rack up a lot of points from the jumps and a multiplier for each billboard. The difficult part is getting from the starting point to these places without crashing. Start out with a full boost bar, and punch the boost whenever your combo is about to end.

Also if I'm feeling adventurous, I link these two routes together by barrel rolling off of the dam NW of the bridge. I crashed a lot trying to do that, though.

The motorcycles and night driving sound very cool, and I love that they're adding custom soundtracks. I don't know if I'll eventually get this or not, but that would have been the feature that made me go with the 360 version. I hate Burnout music. :bomb:

It's even more jarring to be hearing those same songs over, and over, and OVER again! It drives even the most sane gamer nuts! :whistle2:o

metaly needs to get it on PS3 so he can see my funny faces in the camera. :p

Hahaha, I forgot about that. OK, if I can get a custom soundtrack that's just Mana singing along with all the Burnout songs, I'm sold.

"Youu can't be mee, I'm a rock starrr! I'm rhyming on the top of a cop carrr! I'm a rebel and my .44 pops far, it's almost over noww, it's almost over noww!"

Hey! Hey! You! You!

I do like the Operator, Army of Me, and Junkie XL songs. But after ~ 50 hours, I have to turn the music off.

I killed the music after the first few days playing the game...too much generic screamo for my tastes. It's pretty cool that Adam Ant is on there, though!

I moved my Zune Dock into the living room and I usually put that on random when I play...10,000 tracks, no repeats!

Bogart update is live. Note this does not include custom soundtracks, new cars, new modes, etc. All that is in Cagney, coming towards the end of June.

so what are we gonna put this game on hold until the updates? The updates will make Burnout to be almost a new game.
