Burnout Paradise - General Discussion & Info / TROPHY HUNTERS WELCOME!

Has anyone heard anything about more DLC? I want more! I am 4 trophies away from 100%i and i love the game so much. 3 of them are bike related (get 5 challanges done, 100% bike license, timed challange) and i need the 10 online timed trials. If anyone wants to do some online gaming (hopefully with a bike so i can knock out a few more trophies), let me know!
 
I want to play and get some online trophies... you just can't do it... with other people online... anyway.. I'm going to try and join you guys next time you play online.
 
Dusted this guy off and am at about 15 races left until i hit elite license..

Would be up for some multi player action anytime i am online.

Should we dust off the other burnout thread now?
 
I got the platinum last night. Wildcat trophy is a cinch if you host the game. I still have tons to do in the game and have yet to touch bikes. I will be playing this online a lot more, I know that. So I am definitely interested in playing with some CAGs.

As for more DLC... no idea. I still need to grab the ones out there. I am going to play the game some more before I do. I definitely want to grab the island and am curious about cops and robbers. I do know it was announced Criterion would be doing some Need for Speed stuff (boo), so they may be switching resources to that. I would much prefer more Burnout (DLC or the next game).

If we do bikes, just be forgiving as I have no clue what is going on with them. If you guys want to set up a time, do it. Can't wait!

EDIT - add me as a friend to make it easier, whoever wants to play. I'll be happy to host the games.

Personally, I feel that Party and cops and robbers is a skip, but island is amazing.

As for the cars. the legendary pack is pretty great (at least the delorian) but if you get the island you can unlock toy versions of those cars, the toy delorian makes for super easy stunt runs.
The boost specials are a little over priced imo, and the toys are fun once in a while.

We already have a clan night for BP, but we put it on hold for summer. I was also planning on starting it back up again.

This one is pretty easy to get. Just host your own game... you'll prolly have to play for 15-30 minutes while your match fills up with 8 people, then engage the batter up freeburn challenge. Otherwise it is near impossible to get 8 knuckleheads in the stadium at once.

And I'll jump on anytime this evening, I'm free whenever. Anytime soon or later this evening is fine.

I can get on in about 2 hours...wouldn't mind getting a couple of trophies out of the way (in 1 go).

Thanks Darknyss, finally got that 8 players wildcat stadium trophy... If anyone else need help, i can spread the love :) (i ended up helping a fellow getting the cop/robber trophies last night, he's very polite and quite a gamer).
 
I have been itching to get back to this game. Its one I havent played a lot becuase I enjoyed it and knew I wasnt going to sell it.. I know it makes a lot of sense... Keep and dont play the ones you enjoy... its like a side effect of CAG.

Sure, no problem. Thanks to Syn and Saint Noir I got the stuff I needed too.

I can't believe I had this game over a year and only tried the online this week! I figured I would platinum it and trade it away. But the online is pretty fun so I may hold onto it now... tempted to even buy some DLC for more trophies :whistle2:k
 
I still need the "invite a friend" and complete however many freeburn challenges trophies. I'm a little lazy when it comes to getting them though.
 
Yeah, I am trying to decide what DLC to get. I will probably grab Big Surf Island in the next week and see how that goes. Online is really cool. Anyone wants to go in for anything, let me know. Sure others around here would like to hop on as well.

ChibiJosh, if you want to send a friend request to me, just let me know the time so you can grab that trophy. We can also do the freeburn and timed challenges trophies if you need them.

I'm going to play some Burnout at 4:30. It would be wise of you to invite a highly skilled Burnout player such as myself.

I need that one too, but i read that it's better to do the bike trophies after you've gotten the car's freeburn and timed challenge trophies (they might not unlock if you do bike freeburns). My save might be corrupted, since i did a bike freeburn i believe...

Anyway, i need timed challenge (10x) and freeburn (10x), any quick tips on how to complete them in the shortest time frame as possible? Thanks!
 
Freeburn challenges in general are pretty short. Time challenges can be a little bit tougher. Best advice would be to play with people who are concerned with finishing them and not people who just drive around aimlessly! :lol:
 
Any way around the mugshot/smugshot? I'm starting to get pissed off that they require you to buy an accessory just to get the platinum.
 
Not that I know of... I know you can get the eyetoy for PS2 and that will supposedly work as well. You can grab one of those for under $5 if you look for it. It is annoying you need it for the trophy, I agree. I lucked out and just happened to have gotten one for Xmas. The functionality in Burnout is pretty cool though.

$5 where? The only stores I have close by are GameStop and Walmart (plus FYE and Office Max...but I don't think they'd have it).

Confirmed, I got one of the PS2 camera's when Best Buy was clearancing them out and it worked with the PS3 and Burnout.
 
Syngamer, i noticed you got every other trophies except for the mugshot ones :(

Questions on the Freeburns and Timed Challenges:

1. Do you have to win them to unlock them? The 10x ones...
2. Can you do the same Freeburn/Challenge over and over for the 10x trophy?
3. Can you check how many times to go to unlock the trophies? Is there a stat for this?

you can select show challenges from your pause menu to see what you have done.

Pretty sure you need to do x different ones and not repeat the same ones over and over, but they usually are not too hard to do. and also pretty sure you have to complete them (meaning win? not sure what you mean by win) since all of these challenges are in a group, you don't have to accomplish the challenge before anyone else in your group, just make sure everyone involved also finishes the challenge. the freeburn challenges have no time limit at all, so if someone is sucking pretty bad (like me the other night) everyone else just has to wait for them to finish.

also everytime you complete a challenge you get a 'xxx / 500 challenges complete' popup.

No, you don't have to win, just finish them. They have to be different freeburns/challenges as well. I believe if you press start there is a screen that shows how many challenges/freeburns you've completed.
 
cool, thanks... i think those trophies are harder than everything else :(

I didn't even know there are more than 10 different kind of freeburns let along 10 different kind of Timed Challenges.... Looks like i have to play some more to get that Platinum. Oh, this game is a keeper, even if get 100% i'll still play.
 
Super easy to get. Just play online in a room with others and in no time at all the trophy will unlock. I think I will play some Burnout in a bit. If you are on, I'll invite you over.

and so humble too.

I don't know why it wasn't registering my 5 burning routes but i deleted my save and started over and 15 minutes later voila. That's fine for BR but the other trophy i'm missing is "Find all events"" ane 100% bike. 100% bike I do need but find all events I've done.. starting a new game just to find all events is going to be a pain in the neck man.. pain. in. the. neck.
 
Any chance the DLC gets discounted every now and then? I really have no reason to play this game anymore (close to 30 hours already). I wouldn't mind getting Big Surf Island but not for $12.99...
 
agreed. your best bet would be a discount on PSN cards but that's unlikely due to how the PSN cards work. PSN has sales from time to time but they appear to be mostly on games not DLC from what I can tell.
 
well that's cool. if you're looking to do some freeburns of whatever let us know. Kingbroly maybe done with them but I for one still need a bunch.
