But you need Salt Swords to kill giant slugs! It's GGT #58!
that's not his room. it's some crazy japanese otaku's room.
How do you know that? He said post your setups, or have you seen that pic before?
Where'd you get Project 8 for free?

I think I'm breaking my rule of no more buying games. TRU's sale is too good on 360 games...

Blazing Angels 2, Dead Rising, Dead or Alive 4, Earth Defense Force 2017, Far Cry, FEAR, Forza 2, Hitman, Prey, Stranglehold, Top Spin 2, Virtua Tennis 3.

All $5-10.
What sale is this now?

Man, that guy's trying to be a Japanophile by owning like a trillion 360 things? Shit, I barely even want to own one of those and I'm like... not azn at all.
How do you know that? He said post your setups, or have you seen that pic before?
No, it's not his room for sure. I know for a fact.
How do you know that? He said post your setups, or have you seen that pic before?
I saw it 5 months ago on kotaku about some guy in japan that loves 360... and is very lonely.
agreed. I've sunk over 100 hours into monster hunter. consider it the Oblivion for the PSP since it has almost endless playability.
Unless you suck at it. Is Freedom 2 easier or easier to control?
So, GGT, what should be the inaugural game on the new TV / sound setup?
My first game was MGS4. Glorious.
I'm tired of talking to people too ignorant to pay differing opinions any mind.

Nope, Resistance is a bad game. Bad aiming, hollow weapons, etc. It's a timeshift/Area 51 caliber shooter, really.
I lol'd.

Yeah, I thought it looked like I had seen it before, but I thought maybe it was something Inu posted here back in the day. What's that old Inufaye up to these days anyway?

I think the controls in MH2 are about the same. I don't really have a problem with it myself.

Hm, maybe I would like LP:C?

I'd like to trade in MLB 08 towards FFTA2 DS. Maybe I'll do that today before going to Wanted.

HAAAAAAAY

Since TMK listed his favorite RPGs last gen, I thought I'd do mine as well...

- Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
- Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Fable
- Shenmue II (does this count? If Kingdom Hearts II is an RPG I'd consider this one too lol)

Also liked Final Fantasy X and XII. But not as much as the others listed.

My favorites last gen:
FFX
DDS 1&2
Xenosaga 1-3
Persona 3
Dark Cloud 2/Dark Chronicle
Tales of Symphonia.

But mostly FFX. Wish I had an excuse to start playing that again.

Rei reminds me I also loved Suikoden III, but that was mostly story.
I'm still at the end of the game but I've only clocked in 27 or so hours into Eternal Sonata (awesome game to boot)

Radiata Stories is less than 20 and it's great.

Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter is hard but it's only around a few hours, maybe 10.
Cool. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I forgot DDS, add that to my list... I love the ost for that mafucka.
Correct answer. I imported the 4-disc OST for that game... shit's great, especially the DDS2 CDs.

My trade in plan failed but I still got Tony Hawk's Project 8 used for 360 for $10 and Hot Rod used on DVD for $10 at Blockbuster.

If I end up getting a Gamecube off Craigslist they have a mint copy of Mario Power Tennis for $15.

I liked Radiata as well. DQVIII and Dark Cloud 2 were two of my favorites, though.

I have P3 and Rogue Galaxy, but they are in my backlog. :p

My Dad wants me to go out to the golf course with him tonight (play a little golf), but I said no for tonight, because I must play CoD4 online. ;)

Advanced past that part I got stuck on in MGS4.

I got Moto GP 07 on 360 for $4.97 at Sears today (it's not bad).

I also played a little Secret Agent Clank and advanced further (pretty good game so far).

You should go play golf. COD4 will still be there for you later.

Golf is alot of fun, I wish I still had Clubs that were my size, and the money to go play some Golf.
Unless you suck at it. Is Freedom 2 easier or easier to control?
Freedom is a bit the same but alot more user friendly. the new weapons make up for alot the first one didn't have. everything feels alot smoother in freedom 2 and well thought out. If you do get it I reccomend starting and staying with the katana weapon since it takes the pain out of alot of the game.

as for RPGs... man I feel weird saying this but I haven't played any in a long ass time. last one that I don't even consider RPG is Mass Effect... that was good shit.

also, I want to go back and finish the most original RPG back in its time:

this website is too damn awesome:

Golf: played it for 4 years in high school and then got burned out.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2: I say pick it up pete, it's completely worth the $20 price tag that GS has on it right now. It's much more n00b friendly than the first and I absolutely love it (sunk tons of time into 1).

In general: got my final monday and then I'm done with summer class. Bought lost planet colonies on 360 yesterday and have really enjoyed the online that I played. Been mostly playing monster hunter freedom 2 on the psp, and then after my final on monday it'll be back to ninja gaiden to finish that one up.

My favorite RPG's of last gen:

Fable
Tales of Symphonia
Persona 3
Kingdom Hearts
Kingdom Hearts 2
How long would you say it takes to beat Kingdom Hearts 2?
My playthrough took about 38-42 hours.

The game doesn't "officially" start until the 2 hour mark.

i don't get why people liked xenosaga I.

no buildup to the conclusion
pisspoor story telling where they never tell you what's going on, you gotta look in the stupid dictionary
boring confusing battle system

just ugh. uuuuuugh.
i only liked the card game. =)

Plus, we always need more players, so it's important I show up (It's not like Warhawk where we can come close to filling up a server).
Man, I'm horrible at golf. But you should've gone, MK. Family > Games
I suck at golf myself. It varies, sometimes I play games, sometimes I do stuff with family. If I want to play golf, I normally stick to Hot Shots Golf. It frustrates my Dad because he wanted me to big into golf like him (all my Dad does is play Golf during his free time with kids), and all I want to do is stay inside and play video games. ;)

I disagree. I thought Xenosaga had one of the best storylines ever in a series, and it's extremely emotional. The first Episode isn't suppose to be complete since it was intended to be a six part series. It has the deepest character development I've ever seen in a series (first RPG I grew deeply attached to every character, since I grew to knew them all throughout the series). I found the battles in Episode I to be awesome (Episode II's battles weren't too good though), once you upgraded your tech attacks to do them as a 2nd attack. I found Xenosaga to have one of the more enjoyable battle systems since I love the button presses. Soundtrack rocked. Tons of memorable cutscenes which I re-watch over and over again with my Xenosaga Episode I DVD. It was my favorite game last gen until Kingdom Hearts II/Xenosaga Episode III came around.

I wrote an old second opinion review on it (my friend gave it a really high score, but I still did 2nd opinion:
When I saw that a prequel to Xenogears was in development for the PS2, I just knew that I had to buy it. I finally got my hands on this game during mid May when the priced dropped. I was hearing people complaining about how Xenosaga Episode 1 had some very long cut-scenes but that didn’t bother me once bit since I enjoy them a lot. I really enjoyed watching the long cutscenes since it brought a whole new level up depth to the game. I’ll admit that a few holes were left in the story but those questions should be solved in the future Xenosaga games. The sci-fi look of Xenosaga is fantastic and I loved the feeling of being an outer space. Sometimes I could swear that I was watching Star Trek. The characters were very lovable to me and I found myself getting attached to them in a big way. I liked most of the characters personalities but I couldn’t really understand Ziggy too much. The gameplay of Xenosaga was very enjoyable to me, especially the battle system. I liked the idea of the Tech Attacks. Learning new Tech Attacks and building them up was a lot of fun. I didn’t like the ether attacks all that much since they didn’t do much damage, other than Shion’s summons. I liked the length of the dungeons and I thought the design of them was very unique. I kind of wished there were more places to explore in a way. Getting emails throughout the game were enjoyable and I loved getting the advertisements for other Namco game and playing though the several many games was enjoyable too. The only problem I had with the gameplay is the loading since it would take a while when I changed I’d open the status screen or leave a room. The graphics in Xenosaga really amazed me and I was amazed at how good the characters looked. Some of the backgrounds were kind of bland but I thought they suit the game well anyway. As far as the sound in Xenosaga, there isn’t much of it. What I heard from the music was very good, but there were too many times there would be no audio. It was a little strange at first but I got use to it. I’d prefer for Xenosaga different background music in different places and to have a different theme for the boss battle. Overall, Xenosaga Episode 1 was a fantastic game and I’m really upset with myself for not getting it sooner. The fantastic story, characters, graphics, battle system, and other interesting gameplay elements kept for hooked for 46 hours. Xenosaga is definitely the best PS2 game I’ve ever played, so far, and I can’t wait to play Episode 2. I still think about KOS-MOS all the time.

That was un-edited though, so it has errors (and I wrote it in 2003).

WTF? A fly just sat down on my head. I reached up and squashed it, but WTF?

So I'm playing TWEWY.
I'm on the day right after Rhyme is erased, and that guy shows up and says that Beat will only survive for like, three minutes. Then it goes to the next day with no mention of what actually happened to Beat. What? Also, when do you get a partner besides Shiki?
What does your dad do TMK .. is he a counselor or something?
I barely know what my Dad does. Let's just say he was an Engineer of some sort, but was one of the management at Verizon in my area. He took a huge retirement package in 2003 (last time they were giving them out), but then he went back to work there in 2007 (doing some outside work for them). Since they are laying off tons of people, he'll be losing the job (My Dad mostly worked it since they really needed his help). I was hoping to get a job there, but since they layed off tons of people, now I cannot get a job there, and I'm stuck on what to do. :whistle2:(

CoD4 rocked tonight. I did all right.

Right now I'm debating whether I buy PJM Encore or more SingStar music. PJM is cool and all, but I'm SOOO addicted to SingStar that I feel like buying 40+ songs in it. It's mostly what I play now.
Hot Rod is a 1 and a 1/2 hour long Digital Short. And it was awesome.
I have no idea how any human could look at this poster and say "I want to see this movie"

Will probably pick up Freedom 2 tomorrow, because in the long run, whats $20? Not much. It should help me kill time til Jasper once my DS games run out.

When I started, I thought I'd be burned out on Ace Attorney 4, but I'm really liking the last case. Though it seems harder than the first 3.

Just ordered some speaker stands from Amazon. Might have to do some work with the wall bracket + the stand to get it afixed but we'll see. If not, they're only $30 and probably Amazon would take them back. Can't wait to get moved and get things setup :)

Why has there not been a Thundercats game for the Wii announced? A generic, God of War clone with some waggle Sword of Omens-ing. Yes.

You'll find out what happened to Beat later. You get a new partner on Day 1 of Week 2. So probably by the time you read this message.

Inu is still chill as ever, I talk to him a lot on dat Aim. I'd love to see him be able to return once that Cag 2.0 comes out. Lets hope it comes out before Duke Nukem Forever does....
