Update: Looks like they finally fixed the glitch. The sale is now working as intended, only on titles $19.99 and up.

I didn't see this posted, but Best Buy has an offer that nets you a $10 gift card if you buy 2 qualifying pre-owned titles. The offer is supposed to be for games 19.99 and up, but it's currently working for ALL pre-owned games, even those that are $4.99 each. This mistake might not last too long so get in asap

I have to double check but I believe I'm still waiting on one GC.

Got the only games that were shipping today. All told, 7 were 100% complete and in great condition, 1 had a generic cover and I haven't opened it to check the disc yet cause I'm debating trying to go in and exchange it for one with the artwork... really I need to decide if I'm keeping it or trading it later.

I really didn't expect the orders that were being shipped to actually go out, I honestly would of exploited this far more in retrospect. Oh well. Cost me nothing, got 8 games (4 to keep) and actually increased by GC amount slightly. Can't complain at all.
 
My gift card came in the mail yesterday, my two games were at my Best Buy for pick up today. Really pleased, both of them (Atelier Iris 3 PS2 & Tactics Ogre PSP) were complete with artwork and manuals. The Atelier Iris disc was beautiful, so either they resurfaced it or the original owner took good care of it. Very happy with my purchase :D

Pretty much the same thing has happened with me. I got 2 in-store pickup orders and they were all complete. Then today I got two more orders in the mail and one DS game (Labyrinth) has a generic cover. Oh well, no biggie - given that 7 of 8 are complete and they were all essentially free I'll take it ;).

Hopefully my AI3 is as good as yours... Mine's coming in the mail since no local store had any.
 
Got my order from last week when the deal was 25% off, before this deal. Ordered 2 games for DS, intending to flip at least one if it was cart only. Sure enough, one was cart only with a generic cover. The other, thankfully, was complete with art and manual.

As for this deal, my two copies of Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law for Wii arrived. Again, going to flip the extra copy. Both arrived complete. There are zero markings on both discs so I don't think they were ever played. My guess is they were probably purchased from GameStop when they were clearing them out for 3 bucks several months ago, then were flipped instead of collecting dust. My $10 GC also arrived today.

All in all, its a huge gamble buying these used games online with no true guarantees as to completeness, since you can either get immaculate games or disc only. I'd probably only gamble on a deal like this again if I knew I could get rid of any disc only games at another outlet and break even.

Wow I got a mint complete copy of Atelier Iris 3 and a complete Hoshigami Remix.

Dynasty Tactics was w/o manual but it was only $4.99 so it's free anyways. I'm just gonna trade it in for $1.50.

Pretty pleased.
 
Got a couple more DS games in today and they were pretty much crap - generic cases and beat to hell, scratched up cartridges. (How the hell do people scratch up their DS carts!?). Also, one of the games I got yesterday won't even play on my DSi - well, it did once out of about 10 tries and that was even after I cleaned it. So, yeah, I knew this was a crapshoot and I got some decent things (complete Summon Knight Twin Age and PS3 Vanquish) and some crap (beat up cart-only Master of the Monster Lair and Space Invaders Extreme and Star Trek Tactical Assault that is complete but won't play).

I'm going to Best Buy to do some trades and will be taking a few of the cart-only ones in as well. That wasn't my original plan, but they do get $2 or $3 each so that's not bad after 60% bonus. Like I said, not my original plan to do that, but I'm gonna dump this crap back on them ASAP ;).

And to those who think there aren't cheap Chinese bootlegs of non-first party DS games check this out:

Well, there's probably money to be made in bootlegging big third party publishers like EA, especially with a franchise related to The Sims. I doubt there's a lot of fake copies of ZOO Games' releases on DS.
 
So, slightly annoyed - I used a credit card to buy a few of my orders so I would get double RZ points. Apparently, it must not count on used games because I only got regular points and no double bonus like when I buy new games (online or in store). I wish now I had used all gift card credit on them!

so I called up and tried to get the items shipped to my home. the rep tried several times but the system didn't allow it. also none in stock at any of the nearby stores. she canceled the order (I said it's fine and just let it auto but she did it anyway). now the total shows $10 instead of $9.xx BUT the total on gift card I used hasn't changed yet.

I guess I'll just have to hope that my 3 other orders are able to be picked up (still waiting). Already used all 4 GCs (from this promo).

Has anyone picked up or received their games for an order, used the GC from the promo, and still successfully exchanged/returned any of the games? I don't want to be stuck with a crap disc of a crappy game even if I planned to trade it in.

then try to return Game c or do

Or your asking

and then try to return one of them...

if its this one you will be charged 10 bucks for the gift card.. why would you attempt it anyone your getting a free gift card why be greedy (now i can see exchanging it if the game dont work but asking for another game is just pushingit)

LOL. I did the same thing. I also ordered x2 the dark spire. I already used the gift card on Batman AA (paid $0.59 for the game after $10 coupon and $10 gift card) I called and they said unable to ship and not able for pickup.

Anyone know if the games are canceled, do they charge for the gift card?

i would remcommed taking screen shots of you order totals if they do cancel and try to charge just dispute and show the proof what you agreed to pay

well I did NOT zero out the GC I used to pay for that order. I used that same GC for 3 other orders of two used games + GC promo.

the games were canceled and the gift card showed $10.00 charge instead of $0.00 and the total changed accordingly. however the gift card I used did not reflect this YET. I'm going to assume all orders will be recalculated if games are canceled.
 
dumpped my remaning gift cards on a 32 inch tv (no the gift cards didnt pay 100% of the tv but at least i dont have to worry about having them 0 out )

anyone think its sort of weird the NEWER titles are coming CART/DISC only yet the older ones are complete ....

got harry potter part 1 cart only while i got a 4 year old game complete
 
got RUSE complete and Sacred 2 in best buy case... find it funny that they re-seal used games, seems a bit pointless. still happy everything works and got the giftcard too

I think it's because you can return used games you haven't opened.
 
I got my games (DS Tokyo Beatdown and Dawn of Discovery, pretty good condition with original cases), but I haven't gotten the gift card. Did that come in a separate shipment?

my gift cards came within 3 days of ordering the games took 5 days ... so you should of got the card first.. go into your account and see if they shipped the card should be tracking on it

i found this interesting and see if it stands.. if you placed an order for INSTORE PICK UP where they send the item to the store in 3 to 5 days.. If the item is NOT In the wherehouse the item WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL THE ITEM FILLS so the gift card can not be charge.. like i said i dumped all my cards so i dont have to worry about them being zeroed out and cant be charged for them cause i got copies of all my purchases... I never agreed to pay for the gift card so they cant charge.. if they try i just dispute the entire charge

I don't think it is weird at all. When those older games were traded in, it was probably when Best Buy was stricter with needing manuals and artwork, whereas now only the game is required for trade-in.

I bought a PS2 game in this deal and got it in complete, almost new condition. The DS game, however, was just the cartridge--and it looks like someone chewed on its corner.

It's because they are sold in store as well and can't be unsealed as they sit out on the shelves. Not kept behind a counter like at GameStop.

Think someone else asked or commented you can't return used games but that isn't true. If they are defective, they can be returned within the normal new game return period.

bad thing is IF You do return a defected game and they cant replace it will they charge you for the gift card... I came across 2 so far that seems to be messed up but since they were free dont know if worth risking it

Tracking is USPS and it says "There is no record of this item."

i know the cards were going out as of oct 31 cause the order i placed at 5pm oct 31 went out with the card
