Update: Looks like they finally fixed the glitch. The sale is now working as intended, only on titles $19.99 and up.

I didn't see this posted, but Best Buy has an offer that nets you a $10 gift card if you buy 2 qualifying pre-owned titles. The offer is supposed to be for games 19.99 and up, but it's currently working for ALL pre-owned games, even those that are $4.99 each. This mistake might not last too long so get in asap

The instore gaming dept says you have 30 days to return as long as you don't open the seal (or re-seal). I called customer service rep before and that's what they say too.

And early he or she said it was to fill the collection, so I don't think it was to flip.
 
Decided to give it a try. I got :ps3: Ninja Gaiden Sigma and :360: Brothers in Arms:Hell's Highway. If it all goes through correctly I get them for $7.29 each since I am using trade credit to buy them. They look fun enough for less than $8.
 
I guess I could just return them along with the $10GC in-store, but that is a hassle I don't want to deal with. (If they're sealed and I can't return them if I open them up to find a manual missing, I'm kinda fucked).

I have no intention of flipping these "free/pre-owned" titles. What I ordered are all PS2/DS RPGs which have TIV values of $1 or something similar.

I hate sports games, but it's nice to have them around for parties and friends/family. I stocked up on some old ones as well as a few bad movie games (I've got a weakness for them, see my sig :p ). This is a great deal if they really ship, I might pick up a few more tomorrow if it's still going.

Well, someone somewhere decided to clean up. Looks like pretty much every goddamn non-sports title for $4.99 isn't available for shipping anymore.

How many orders did that take >.
 
Thank you OP, I purchased Atelier Iris 3 and Tactics Ogre. I'm a Gamer's Club Unlocked member so I saved another 10% plus managed a ship to store to avoid shipping fees. Even if these aren't complete, as long as they work I'll be happy.

While it would be bad for the GOOD employees who would be put out of work if both chains went out of biz, the number of good/nice employees to know-it-all assholes is heavily skewed in favor of the d-bag employees.

Mind ya, there are a couple good eggs at my local BB/GS stores n like the folks who I got to know at HWV I would wish em well n God speed in finding work again. But the chains both have predatory practices towards their customers(and employees) and are better off in the outta biz heap with CC.

Back on topic I have yet to find any halfway decent games to play OR flip.:roll:

There's a couple I found that have already been mentioned here. Also snagged a AC LE and hasbro game night for the family.

and by the way I ordered nothing but Older DS and PSP games that probally few would even order here.. most of my friends do handheld systems only as well (since they are on the road a lot)

Anyone who wanted to play the two copies of Army of Two will be fine. Would have been better if BB would have let me trade them in sealed.

I experienced this myself. I ordered GT5 preowned during the B2G1 sale and it stated the above guarantee. My order took 4 business days to process. I ended up receiving one complete game and one that was with a generic case with no manual. I complained to online CS and they said that the guarantee was no longer there. It was interesting because I wanted to make sure I had complete box and manual which I double checked before I ordered but interestingly enough when I received my incomplete order, the guarantee was no longer there. It now states that it did not come complete guaranteed. I suspect somebody had a hard time fulfilling my order to be complete, shipped it incomplete, and updated the wording for the preowned GT5 on the site.

So basically, your order is not guaranteed complete. I pointed this out to CS but they told me they cannot confirm the guarantee was there since at the time of my call the guarantee was mysteriously edited.

Actually I was screened out after THREE interviews at BB, but as you know I'm banned from even going in ANY GS stores. Bitter about not being hired at either chain though? Oh hell no. I only wanted to work at either place so I would know about price drops/sales/clearances/pennied shit sooner than CAG.:lol::booty:

The day they stopped requiring EVERYTHING when trading in games was the day I knew they would change their 'guarantee' to be like Gamestop's, where they guarantee it to work but won't guarantee you get it complete.
 
Well, I ventured into the $7.99 games (there's a lot there) and snagged stuff like Summon Knight Twin Age and Moon. Those will be all of $2.19 each if the gift card comes with them. At that price I can risk an incomplete game. The only issue will be if they are bootlegs (that were traded in to Best Buy). I'll have to brush up on how to tell the difference. Do the bootlegs still not run on DSi systems? I know the DSi locked out a lot of them a year or two ago but I'm sure they've found a way around that since then.

I ordered two copies of the same used game before this sale when they were having 25% off (didn't pull the trigger on B2G1 before that because at the time there was only one used game I wanted and didn't think I could offload 2 duplicates and break even on them). With this sale I ordered two copies of a used game that wasn't available last week. I'm hoping that with the extra copies, in a worst case scenario, I can make a complete copy for myself, then I'll unload the remaining disc-only copies to Goozex. If I get two copies and can't even make one complete copy between them, I'll probably just return everything to Best Buy.
 
Just as good practice, unless you have some CE items to keep yourself, at least try to trade in the complete, case, artwork, and manual when you do this at BB. What goes around comes around.

But then I wouldn't have managed to keep those awesome Hot Wheel knockoffs that came with my cart only :ds:Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Autobot & Decepticon packs a while ago.

of spare cases I bought when Hollywood Video was going outta biz, so finding empty blank cases for those was easy.;)

I think I did give em the manuals for them though, so someone would only have to hunt down a regular coverart for them.

yea, I only switch out cases if it's a brand new game. So in the future if I buy a beat up old game, i have a replacement case. :D
 
Picked PS3-Dragon Age: Origins and 360-Darksiders + $10 gc. Came out to 9.70 after taxes. Just wanted to thank you all for the heads up since i missed the Target bonanza hehe

Damn. I didn't realize it's THAT cheap for DA: O on BB.com. Hell of a game for $5. Too bad they don't guarantee everything with the copies you get from the warehouse though.
 
Managed to get Final Fantasy: The 4 heroes of Light, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy for $12.54. Didn't think that was too bad of a price for those two games.

so if the value of the gift card shows as "$0" in your cart...im guessing that means the items in your cart don't qualify for the $10 GC promo?

Bootlegs tend to be first party with very few exceptions (some square enix titles). You should be fine with moon and summon night.

In my experience with bestbuy there's a moderate chance they'll just ship the gift card first regardless, which would certainly be a success in my book.
 
Interesting. So if I use $10 of credit to buy 2 $4.99 games I will get $10 back? I wouldn't be surprised if they catch this and deny the gift card, but I'll give it a shot. Only if I can get free shipping to work though.
 
Purchased Assassin's Creed & Vanquish (Both PS3) for a grand total of $14.99 plus tax. Both had local in store pickup, so I will be picking up both tomorrow when I make my run for Uncharted 3. Two games for $4.98 & tax. Sounds good to me!

This deal is available in store and online. Problem with purchasing in store is that the deal is supposed to be for two games priced $19.99 and above. Online is a different story though ;)

I just received an email saying that my GC has been shipped and is on the way. The games are not at the store yet for pickup, so it seems like they are honoring these purchases.
 
Sweet, finally got Dirt 2 360 for a decent price. Paired it with a Cabela's North American Adventures game that the light gun works on.

Yep, got an email about my GC shipping. Nothing about the two $5 games I ordered with it. Hell, the two $5 games I ordered last week haven't shipped yet.
 
Thanks OP! Had a $10 gift card already, so I just bought a couple $4.99 PS2 games to add to the collection. Total was $0.58 and I get my $10 gift card back! Wouldn't it be sweet if we received our gift cards before they fix this error? *Fingers crossed*
