Target will pricematch Gamestop.com and you will still get the $50 giftcard, YMMV as some stores are starting to make it a 'giftcard or pricematch' thing if they've already been hit, online chat support might hook you up with a pricematch, you probably will only be able to pricematch 1 copy of each game. Do separate orders as I believe it's 1 card per transaction

That’s not true and easy to prove false.

Anyone know which of these games will be easiest to resell? I imagine Madden will be big with football season going on. Battlefield And FC also seem like easy sells.

Madden is going for even cheaper on offerup and Craigslist by me so I went with Far Cry and Switch games. Sports games in general are tricky as most go down in value very quick that's why I went with violent games like Far Cry and Switch games since it's really hot and there aren't too many selling used on offerup or CL by me. I also bought Ass Creed Odyssey because I've heard it's an amazing game and shiuld keep it's value for at least a couple of months. If you go with a sports game, get the newest one like NHL 19 IMO. Will be easier to sell at a profit at least in my area.

 
Just went back to Target and got x2 copies of Fifa 19 and x2 copies of Madden 19 for $16 total!

Are you using the Gift cards that you got from a previous order when you buy these games? That's what you mean by $16 total? Like after you used the gift cards you paid $16 with your target debit card?

Mine was as well, that's the odd thing. I assume it was a lazy grader or they needed to meet their quota. Hopefully when they send it back it's in the same condition as i sent it. Hopefully you have better luck.

So a CS Rep and email I got about the refund coming 1-3 days after but not showing up on my order and dk if i should pick it up now or later I want to make sure it gets fixed lol

 
Last target I went to ended up doing it 4 times cuz the dude just didn’t give af lol. I honestly could’ve kept going but got what I wanted.
 
Definitely just did this at my Target, price-matched Mario Rabbids and Farcry 5 to 24.99 and used my Redcard, total ended up being 49.98 so I’m pretty happy with the results.

Just as a word of advice: from my experience, the customer service desk will give you a worse time when it comes to price matches. They generally don’t want you to price match + give you a gift card. I had a woman who refused to continue with the transaction because she didn’t know how *not* to give me the gift card. The people at the electronics register are a lot cooler and probably chain smoke on their lunch break.
 
Would this work if I use a merchandise card in store?

Lost my receipt a few months back and they asked for my driver license, they give you store credit in store now instead of gift cards back.

Yeah when I went, I tried it at the electronics but the guys register was closed so we had to go to customer service. I got a little worried for a second but he was pretty cool and I don’t think the ladies at CS noticed or cared what was happening, so I just got out ASAP. Giggling to myself the whole time, of course.

For whatever reason, my Target ONLY does price matching at customer service. That's why I know it's a lost cause for me in-store.
 
My local Target told me to go to the electronics section to price match any items.  At customer service they gave some party line that Target does not price match anything during the holiday season.  Obviously that is not correct, but I wasn't going to stand there arguing with them.  Worth a try, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

The one I went to today did the same thing. The electronics guy walked me over to order pickup/customer returns. They price matched me no problem and I got the gift card. Keep in mind, you can always price match online and over the phone.

I bought this earlier today for $39.88 pm from Walmart. I will call tomorrow and have it adjusted. I concur about being harder to PM online now. Got rejected by a 3rd person even though I showed her proof I was price matched earlier today. All 3 of them gave me the same number to call tomorrow.

I think the guy trolled me, he told me I would get 50 dollars difference in four hours. Probably trying to trick me into thinking the gift card is the price difference. Should I cancel or call for a price match now lol?

Hmm so the games are still listed for 59.99 and 45.49. The gift card is there, but the total to redcard says 61.17. I have never done this before. Does this mean it was successful?

I really wonder if the Target reps are trolling people because so many are trying to do this.

I got rejected by Grace, Damien, and Fatima for online chat, the fat lady has sung! Grace knew that the items were the part of the gift card promo and shot me down ASAP. Fatima said because of the prices on bestbuy listed as "door buster" they wouldn't honor it.

Thanks. I think it was successful. Ended up paying 61 and change for ass creed odyseey, far cry 5, and the giftcard. Can't beat that deal!

I got Michael, Christian and Fatima that all said they don't price match "sales"

 
So when I look on my redcard, it shows a pending charge for 111.17. Is that normal? They said they process the credit in 1-2 days, but just wanted to check. I haven't ever pricematched through chat before.

Right, the whole point of price matching is not buying the item at full price. Last week I tried to do a PM in store and the local target in my freeway had no issues. The other target about 10 miles away, store manager wouldn't approve the PM. Told me they are not price matching during the holiday season!

 
Success. Only one set cause the guy was so nice and I’m so broke right now I’d have had to pay with the same gift card immediately.

I’ll try more stores tomorrow. Tax wasn’t charged err I mean it was charged on the cost of the games beyond $50, so like a buck.

Between July and this Target has to be inducted into the hall of fame right?

You should've only been charged the checkout price far as I know
