CAG Arcade Stick Thread II: World Warrior
3mm hex key. Just remove the top 6 hex screws and pick up cover by the ball. There's really no need for a guide. Everything inside a TE is unplug and plug back in. You may have a hard time removing the quick disconnects, if pulling them doesn't work, take a little flat head and place it between the quick disconnect and the button and just turn it, it'll pop right off or loosen it up.

I say the first time will take you maybe 30 mins. Then once you're use to opening it and everything you will be able to open and close it within 10 mins.

If you plan on putting on a plexi, all you do is remove all the buttons and the ball off the stick. To remove the ball just use a flat head on the opposite side of the ball and turn the ball til is is loose, then just spin it off.
there is no way to talk about a stick without sounding gay

Thanks so much greyzieoriental. Once I've modded my fightsticks I'll post some pics.

Threw together this SE with Sanwa stick/buttons for a friend (and huge Cubs fan).

Good shit. :applause:

I love those clear balltops.
MarkMan,

Gamestop does not display anything in-store about the sticks/pads at all?
I noticed that one too, plenty of times i've seen TE's sitting on the floor behind the register. Obviously it is a space/theft issue most of the time but still kind of an odd way to sell something.

I heard word that you can mod the 360 S edition TE stick to make it work on PS3 pretty easily...confirm or deny.

EDIT: Found my answer. Soldering stuff is not my forte.

Noob question:

Is there any reason to purchase the TE "S" over the regular TE editions (Round 1, Round 2, MvC, etc.)? I am looking into purchasing my first arcade stick ever and I just wanted to know the pros and cons of both. Any insight would be appreciated since I can't stand using my Xbox 360 controller anymore. Thanks.

I answer this at least 3-4 times a week.

Main differences are aesthetic. (Slim sides and full top art panel)

There is one functional difference though. Locking now affects the start & back/select button. Further preventing accidental pushes (especially needed for tournament play).

Because there's no bezel around the artwork anymore, the edges of the artwork are a little sharp. Not a huge deal, but something you may want to be aware of. I own the SSFIV S edition stick for the 360 and love it. I'm a big fan of its smaller footprint compared to the original TEs, those things look like monsters compared to the S edition.

I've also read that people have issues with the sharp edges on the top plate where you rest your wrists while playing. Do you experience the same problem?

Also, do you know if the Turtle Beach Headset mics are compatible with this arcade stick?

Yes they are.

Also.

I personally don't experience issues with the top art panel area being too sharp.

I think gamers are too soft. Just saying.

This.

The people who are complaining about the "sharp edges" are just whiners. I only mention it because it is an issue with SOME people. Those people being babies and the like.

I figured they were just complaining. I think I'll go ahead and try to find the "S" model sometime this week. Thanks a lot for the quick responses and feedback guys; I appreciate it.

So hopefully someone in here will know; I'm going to be going for a MvC TE locally at Gamestop; now the website says it's $139.99, but I remember it being lower at some point.

Did they raise the price back up, or is it actually lower in-store and the website just isn't reflecting the current price?

...or am I just delusional and $140 is the lowest it has ever been?
It was 99.99 for a month or so, then jumped back up to 139.99.
fuckkkk, that's what I thought. Alright, thanks man.

The X1 works fine, so long as you still have the adapter that came with your stick (the controller connector is shaped like the old school MS headsets).
Ma12kez, if you wait til the end of the month I'll be running a discount code promo on the TE "S"... Just a heads up.
Cool. Thanks for the heads up. I'll be on the lookout for that.

MarkMan I finally got around to calling Madcatz about my TE's PCB not working (the Y button is completely dead)... The guy fussed at me for opening the stick (even though I only opened the top on this one) and said they wouldn't replace anything unless I could find the receipt. Is there anything I can do if I don't have the receipt? I guess I should have had my stick break when they were just being cool and mailing out PCBs...

PM me and we can discuss. Thanks.
Are the Femme Fetale sticks all done for? I want one sooooo badly.
I can sell you one at cost + shipping. Brand new in box. PS3.

Oh Mark Man I finally found a Gamestop in St. Louis that actually displays the fightpads on the shelf with the other controllers, the store outside the South County Mall (which has two smaller EB/Gamestop inside of it.) I guess it's also because they are one of the largest stores in the STL area.

Hi Kissfuldreamer, I've been here since 3PM today. I'm staying at the venue so I'll be here all day.

I stopped by Fanime earlier too, pretty neat lol.

Just ordered an S, couldn't find any around here today and didn't feel like going to Jersey. Will seimitsu screw ins fit, or is the mounting plate going to make me shave one down. Also will the current five pin work with a ls-32-01?

Screw ins will fit fine, but the A button you will have to screw it in from the top and have the washer under the mounting plate. Pain in the ass if you have art in the buttons, and no matter how nice and tight you put them in the art will always move.

Yes, just dremel away either some of the plastic on the A button nut or some of the metal on the joystick mounting plate.

Have you tried using just a dab of a glue stick on the art? That is what I have done before for a hori and it works just fine in keeping the art in place with out messing up the button at all.

MarkMan is the Smithsonian of arcade sticks. When aliens land on a post-apocalyptic Earth and discover MarkMan's vault of sticks, they will conclude we were a culture of stick-loving people.

Do you even have room for that in your house?

You guys think Madcatz might consider this design for their next stick?
