It's crazy how people can be elitist on anything.

You guys have inspired me to build my own stick as soon as I get the cash and tools.
Isn't it though? That's how I always felt with the whole Console war thing...I could really care what you're playing on, you know?
Then again...I see nothing wrong with my stock Hori EX...I'm just happy to have a damn arcade stick that is at least comparable, and for the $30 I paid for it, who gives a rats ass?
Do I want to mod it with some stuff from Lizard lick, specifically an octagonal gate? hells yes, but time to do it is non-existent... also doesn't mean I'm not lusting after the SF TE sticks, or even an HRAP EX.

I'm also lusting after the SF TE sticks but I'll make sure I can afford it first. I'm perfectly happy with my DOA stick even though it's not the greatest.
Aha, thanks. I see "Solderless Quick Connect" listed on Lizard Lick... is that different from a "Quick DISconnect" or are the terms interchangeable?
The quick connects sold on Lizard Lick are quick disconnects.
Hey MarkMan,

I hope this isn't disgraceful, but is it possible to change out the ball top to a bat top on the SF4 Tourny Stick?

For some reason I've never been able to get fully comfortable with the ball tops.

Thanks-
Use what you like. If you grew up in North American arcades playing SFII then you were raised on the bat top.

I grew up with bat top sticks, but I now prefer the gumball style sticks, to each their own.

And I'm willing to admit that I'm not near a good enough player to be able to tell the difference between Sanwa and Seimitsu sticks and buttons. I can feel the difference between those buttons and the Hori knockoff buttons, but SE and SA parts feel exactly the same to me, so I have no preference.

craigslist? I couldn't find anymore PSOne controllers w/o dualshock, however, I was able to modify an A series dualshock to be solderable.

I'd like to know if I can do custom art stuff on the stick easily or not :)

Either way it's not going to really affect my decision. Looks great!
So, after this recent news... what do you guys think?
I'd like to know when you're gonna hook us up with your employee discount :lol::lol: and whether or not I can download the extra costumes from the SFIVCE on the regular version (only care about the extra costumes, don't want to pay an extra $10 or whatever for that).

The sticks look awesome.
So, after this recent news... what do you guys think?
Ordered 2 of them! :)
I would like to know whether or not they'll support custom artwork though

I don't see how custom artwork would work. In those pictures you can see the guy lift the top off of the body of the stick. To replace the art you would have to open the stick...which would void the warranty. I don't think madcatz would sell an accessory to their...accessory...that would require the user to void their warranty. Im pretty dissapointed about that but I'm still crazy excited about the stick.

You paid them!!

But despite that, I am eagerly awaiting this.

Yea, it is.

We couldn't make it a feature as it would void your warranty... but it is really easy to do. I'll reveal how soon.

i probably shouldnt get the TE stick but it looks like it'll be the only arcade stick i'll ever need to buy so im probably gonna end up getting it :bomb:

Thanks. You just made me smile :)

You had me at "arcade quality" MM, lol. I'm so totally totally stoked for a top tier arcade stick that's fully compatible and made for Xbox 360. I don't think I could be any more excited for it, and I'm not even a "hardcore" fighting game player!

Same here.. I don't know the first thing about sticks.. but I know that by paying $145 for this stick, I'll have one of the best ones I can guess. Anyone who's played Remix online with me knows I can get pretty pissed off when my moves don't come out the way I want them to. ;) Well, now.. I'll know that it's my fault if the moves aren't coming out right, not the sticks. It's a mental thing.

I can't wait to put a Cthulu board in mine and have a 360/PS3 stick. Get some custom artwork going on it too.

I should just build my own for $150 bucks. ;) But I'm buying it anyway, just to show my support.

God dammit, now I really want that stick.

I'm either going to have to buy two, and flip one to cover the other, or mod my HRAP3 with sanwas and throw it on ebay (could I make a profit like that?

Having good quality controls really makes a difference, even if you're not a super hardcore player. Instead of thinking "what if this move doesn't come out" you are just thinking "I need to do this right now"

Like before, using a generic madcatz controller that had a decent D-Pad, I'd never even put Chun's super in my mind, because it was so unreliable on the pad. Now I can have that move to use when I get a good advantage to finish out the round/match.
So, after this recent news... what do you guys think?
I want one even more now. I'm sorry if this has already been asked... I'm sure it has been and I've just forgotten, can the PS3 TE Stick be used on PS2 games?

MM, awhile ago I had asked you if you could compare the HRAP and other upcoming sticks to the Fightstick Tournament Edition...

Can you now do that? Or does your company still not want you to...

Any idea how limited the tournament editions will be? I'd like to get one but next month probably won't be the best time to shell out that kind of cash.

very limited
Mad Catz reps say it's initially shipping 3,000 and "see how it goes from there."

does the certificate included with the stick come with MARKMAN'S signature?!

this is gonna really influence my decision
my arcade stick on b&n got canceled... i guess i would have an S rating arcade stick
canceling sucks unless you are canceling into a super move

I'll be picking one up too and putting a Cthulhu inside. It'll probably be my main stick once it's all done.

holy shit, I didn't really look at the TE stick until I just watched that video from CES. That is really impressive. And now I want one, too bad i just bought a Hori EX2... must....keep....credit....card....in.....wallet......

It'll definitely be my 360/PS3 stick. I always have my Sanwa modded Namco for PS2. ;)

I saw the SFIV TE stick on GameSpot's website and I...

JIZZED
in
MY PANTS.

The attention to detail is incredible, extra space for larger sticks, hot swappable buttons, color coded wiring... I will no longer complain about the price tag. :bouncy:

to be honest, I am pissed I have no money to pre-order the stick ATM >_< so I'm pissed...

what's the minimum to put down for a TE stick at most places?

also, while watching the video with seth, I loved everything but my eyes got very wide and happy when he showed the open model. I hate saudering so thank you MM :)
