so if i get the TE stick will it be the only stick i'll ever need..or at least close to it

im not exactly a hardcore fighting game player but im tryin to justify getting it based on how rare it'll be and how it trumps every other stick :bomb:

MarkMan didn't you say madcatz's website would be taking orders? You work for them, login to their site and upload the order forms so we can order. :D

i've been looking in the deals forum to see how many games i would have to flip from the blockbuster buy 1 get 1 to the gamestop wii + $5 coupon promotion in order to buy all the madcatz goodness and it would be alot. :p

Damn, that TE stick video really sells it well. The ease of moddability is really nice. So could you put like a iL eurojoystick in there without any trouble? And hey, with that button layout, you could actually just swap a few wires around and have yourself a viable stick for UMK3!
:(

I want one so bad, but I don't have the option right now. either next week or mid Jan I can pre-order :(
If you're absolutely sure you'll have the money by then, just put it on a card.

Wow, glad I ordered my two from Amazon Wednesday night
Didn't expect them to sell out so soon lol

Can't wait till February!

Edit: Actually looks like I ordered them last night lol
Really lucked out :D

Yeah, that TE stick is gonna sell out easy. I didn't know it will have cord storage! And all the customizing potential! It's totally outrageous, and really a steal at $150. I mean, even a lesser Hori would cost almost that much to import, and those that are the easiest to obtain are pretty much PS2/3 only.

So I pre-ordered the TE for 360 and one Fight Pad, but I'm probably going to get a Fight Pad for PS3, too. >_

MarkMan, it looks like you and Mad Catz really put together one hell of a fine stick.:applause: I say "looks" because I doubt I'll ever get to go hands-on with it.....:cry:Times are tight and I'm on a budget so I just can't swing it.

*Incredible Hulk "Sad, Walking Away" music plays*

Yeah, right now I have the PS3 TE Stick, Ken PS3 Fightpad, ChunLi 360 Fightpad, and PS3 CE SF4 all pre-ordered. I'm just debating about the 360 version of the game. If I can get the figure separately, I'll forego the second CE edition and just get a regular 360 version instead.
How you like me now!?
I've had the TE preordered from Amazon since the moment I could.

My regret now is that I didnt order two of them.

And now you've also got me thinking about that poking around for one of those HRAP 2 SE's you just got. :whistle2:k
Has anyone gotten this coupon code, 10ACC50, to work on gamestops site when pre ordering the TE stick?
It doesn't work (lame), but I would totally order one if it did!
No, only Sanwa/Seimitsu.

If it could fit Happ, it wouldn't be universal, it would be godsend lol.

watch the destructoid video. seth mentions you can hot swap in american parts due to the bored out bottom. he must know something you don't. :p

but yeah to fit a happ in that case would mean it would need to be alot deeper, have option to add 4 grounds and .187/.250 qd's to the wiring, have a +5 for a p360, and be at least 3/4" deep for the mounting plate to not make your stick look like it has a boner.

there are ways to mod everything but this stick doesn't look to have happ parts in mind for easy swapping.

Just curious, how should I account for the bolts on the top of the stick when photoshopping the art to fit my HRAP3?

Would anyone be interesting in helping me out with said photoshopping?

Also MM, will the TE sticks be shipping to walmart/hastings/blockbuster?

I had to give Seth a heads up, I think he was a bit overzealous with his wording lol.

Financial woes have forced me to go with a 360 pad instead of the 360 TE stick. Oh well, I figure that any fighting game compatibility I lose will be compensated by better XBLA skills. I might download Sonic 2 on XBLA just so I can compare the experience of playing it with the Fightpad with the experience of playing it with a Genesis controller.

Yes
The switch on the pads that allow it to act as either analog stick as well as the d-pad - Do the sticks also have that functionality?
Yes.

When in doubt.

Think.... "What would MarkMan do?"

Got cha covered!
Sold.

What lost compatibility do you mean? Don't all fighting games on the 360 support custom button settings?
All except Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

Any wonders why Midway is going under with decision making like that?

Midway didn't make UMK3 port.

It was backbone. The guys who did HD Remix.

lol.
yeah, the choice of no custom controls really killed a part of the fun I had with UMK3.
Yeah, you can't play the game with a retail stick unless you physically rewire the buttons. It's ridiculous!

Customs are the only option for us poor MK dudes. Fortunately I'm comfortable with a slightly misplaced "block" button, so I can play with a Capcom layout as long as long as I've got a seventh button somewhere near my thumb. I just use the middle button in the top row for Block.

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions also differ in that the PS3 joypad is wireless whereas the Xbox 360 one is not.

Lame.. I guess it's hard to do with MS requiring authentication for everything. :(

I heard that PS3 version is wireless with the included dongle,
instead of the usual bluetooth

I'd rather have wired than crappy wireless adapter lol

*nods*

So guys, I was riding the elevator at work when I realized the buttons on the elevator would go nicely on my custom stick. So I ripped them out of the wall and took them home.. apparently it caused a big uproar and the news agency is now reporting on about some sort of "Button Bandit", I wonder if they're talking about me?

I simply must know if you're serious or not lol.

Totally cereal.. will post pics when I get home!

(Unless I get arrested by then, been ducking the cops for the past couple hours, only 2.5 hours left!)

Ok, I made it hope safely! Just took a pic of my new and totally awesome custom arcade stick!

Not bad huh? I only have two buttons in it cuz buttons were falling out of my pocket as I was running away from the police. fuck those guys. Anyway, it's no big deal since I only use HP and HK anyway. Let me know what you guys think!

Strange sense of humor you have there.

Oh, and that wireless dongle for the PS3 fightpads is extremely lame. I always avoid those controllers on purpose. But I have to have a 6 button PS3 pad...

The news about the weird PS3 wirelessness (haha) makes me happy to preorder the 360 Blanka pad. After dealing with batteries and that shoddy MS charge kit for the default controllers, it'll be nice to just plug that bitch in.

eh.. I was riding the elevator and noticed that the buttons are similar to stick buttons.. I thought it was clever. :(
