I'm about to register to vote over there.

I had no clue that the 360 sticks had a bad layout. I thought I heard it was the PS3 one that did lol.

So for those with experience with the mayflash stick, how does the quality compare to the cheap hori controllers, like the SC4 one? I was going to order that off of amazon since I had a giftcard that would have brought it down to 30, but I found a used mayflash on fleabay for like 37 shipped, and I could play PS2 games with that. I planned on modding whatever I got eventually.

Compared to a Hori FS3, the Mayflash/Elecom is still pretty crap. The Hori (even though I don't like it) is still superior to it.

Modding one though, would be better. I like the casing of the Elecom/Mayflash, you have more room to do stuff with that than on the FS3. It'll be a tight mod for a FS3 but there are tutorials etc. avail. Check SRK for EVERYTHING! ;D

Haha, I've been reading everything I can find about the Mayflash over at SRK. The only thing holding me back is I have no experience with modding a stick, soldering, filing, etc. I would really like to just get a decent PS2 or PS1 stick online and not have to mod it, but there aren't any in my price range.

I'd just save up... wait for a good opportunity.

What is your price range?

Whenever I come across deals, I'll usually link it in here.

T5 sticks are ok I'd say. I got one a while back when they were being cleared from Gamestop/EB stock for about $30. Just be prepared to handle its heftiness. It's pretty heavy compared to an FS3. I got an FS3 for $39 from CC.com, but it seems they don't sell them anymore... The sticks and buttons on the T5 stick are not spectacular, IMO.

That was one hell of a deal you got then!

I have 7 of these sticks... I wish I kept all of mine I came across throughout the years.

I would have like 20 at least. haha...

Hori Street Fighter IV Arcade Sticks Unveiled!

October 10, 2008

Hori had their brand spanking new Street Fighter IV arcade sticks on display recently during Tokyo Game Show! The sticks should be familiar to most as they are pretty much the same good old Hori sticks we have come to know and love, with an artistic SFIV flair. The PS3 arcade stick is essentially a Hori Real Arcade PRO 3 and the Xbox 360 arcade stick is a Fighting Stick EX2. Check our Arcade Stick section for more information on the new goods!

Doesnt Hori have a better stick for the 360 then the EX2? Couldn't they just come out with it for once on the 360 and not the EX2 here in the states.

The US release HRAP sticks should be out a bit earlier.

One of the reasons why the HRAP EX costs more is because of the security chip/licensing from Microsoft. (PS3 one is not licensed by Sony)... and also because of the special subtype that the 360 HRAP EX has.

Think I'll pick up an HRAP3 from Amazon with my birthdayxchristmas money (6 days apart), and probably a madcatz for the 360....

that is

unless

the madcatz is dual pcb moddable?

Wow US HRAPs. Looks like many people are banking on this fighting game renaissance. I'm thrilled but I hope it doesn't bite anyone in the ass.
Agh, why is Hori making SF IV sticks too? Now I think I want that one instead of the MadCatz... Too many options!
Dude the Hori Sf4 stick is the same piece of junk stink they've been selling for years. The MadCatz sticks will almost certainly be miles better. Their layouts are definitely superior.

I guess I will pass on the HRAP3 and the HRAPEX. Any more info on the SF stick? Maybe a release date? I would like to get a good stick but don't see the point in spending alot if I'm also going to get the SF stick. I might as well buy just one good stick.

well since the fighter thread is merged, I feel like this is the best place to talk about fighters (thx for making things crazy)

So anyone happy about the MvC2 news we all knew about already? glad to hear it's on PS3 to be honest. I really need a hori or SFIV stick now.

Big thanks to whoever reopened this thread.

I'm so tempted to order the 360 HRAP off Amazon. I need to go back and compare release dates between it and the premium Madcatz stick.

MM dropped a hint if nothing else. I'll look around for it later. Probably whenever SF IV comes out but after my chaotic day, I can't even remember when that is.

Ok, well since this thread has been reopened, I guess I'll ask my question in here since it's appropriate.

So, I'm window shopping for an arcade stick right now, because I'm saving up money and going to buy one in January. So, I'm looking for recommendations on what I should buy, I'm familiar with sticks a little, but there's still quite a bit (I think) I need/should learn. I'm looking for any advice anyone in here can give me on what to look for/consider purchasing. Here's the rundown:

I'm going to have about $140 available to spend. I'm mostly looking to get a PS2 stick, so I can use it will all my PS2 fighters, and I'd be able to buy a total control plus 3 so I can use it on my DC fighters as well. I'm most likely going to mod it (put custom artwork and new buttons and stick), so I'm looking for a pretty durable stick. Any tips/suggestions?

Aren't there HRAP 2's floating around somewhere for 100ish, I think there's a link in this thread or one of the fighting game ones.
Don't know why this was closed to begin with, but thanks for opening it back up!
This.

I'm in Hong Kong right now and I don't have access to the internet unless I'm at work or in my hotel room. I'll be sure to post up some things in a bit!

Glad this thread is back.

Thank you mods.

These are supposed to be near the best. http://www.aiabstore.com/main.sc

Just pick the one you want.

Im cheap as hell and am considering getting a SCIV stick for the 360 (the crappy one) and modding it. The only problem with that is theres no way to get seimitsu buttons in it. Im not sure what to do...
