Here are my Arcade Sticks. One for the Wii for TvC and One hori ex2 for the 360 and my TE stick. Im really unsure if I should sell the TE stick or what I mean i really like the ex2 for the 360 and works great for my character in SF4 (Rose).

So yeah, I had two flawless days with the TE stick and then again at the early hours of this morning while in training mode one of the buttons stopped responding again. I had to unplug it and replug it in to make it work. I'm taking advice I saw on shoryuken to replace to break away cable with another, but if that doesn't work It looks like I'll be giving Madcatz a shout. I'm just afraid to send it in before the three months are up in case their fix isn't permanent/they don't seem to know the exact reason why.

^ Regardless, if you're having issues and it is past the 90 day period. Give Mad Catz a call, the tech support department wants to make sure everyone is taken care of if there is anything wrong with their product.

Yes I will probably give them a call Monday It's just with work I hardly have time to call or anything lately.

hey guys.. I just got my SE from amazon. I really wanted a TE but refused to pay ebay pices and was able to get this for just retail + free shipping and got free 2-day fedex instead. :D

also anyone know if the new batches have the washer grinding defect [or whatever it was] I read about under control? anyway to check without voiding warranty? thanks

If your really troubled by it you can just open it up and glue the washer in place. Doing this will void your warranty but its such an easy fix there is no reason to send it off to Madcatz, unless you have been playing with the washer loose for so long that the pcb has been grinded down.

Just for future reference this is the statement put out by Madcatz about the issue.

“Some customers have reported issues with their standard edition Arcade FightStick. A very small amount of users have experience problems with the sticks responsiveness. Please note that this issue does NOT happen on each Arcade FightStick and has been reported on a small number of units. The issue is due to a metal washer shifting out of place and is easily rectified. The issue and the resulting fix have been extensively documented on several forums. However, to avoid voiding your warranty, we recommend contacting Mad Catz technical support who will be happy to assist. Mad Catz is committed to fixing all sticks that exhibit this issue.”

Here is also a interview with Alex Verrey about the issue.

Huge huge huge huge huge thanks to denze for being such a kind person to give me a T5 stick.

I'm a stick virgin so this stick is what will pop that cherry for me.

If you ever want or need anything denze (artwork requests?) I'm at your disposal.

Also thanks for throwing in the pelican adapter so that I can actually use the stick :)

Hey ReRo, guess what? I hate you.

Damn denze, what a nice gesture.

I hope by stick virgin, you mean you're new to sticks. Haha.

 yeah I realize how nice of a gesture this is so I don't think I can say thanks enough.

I spent a few hours on it in SFIV and Tekken DR... still need alot of time with it. Going from long time pad user to stick takes time. I'm not comfortable with the direction input yet, but that is something that takes time.

EWGFs are alot easier on this though compared to pad :)

Okay, so I ordered a wiring harness for my SE Stick. I found out the stock harness wasn't working for me, since my pcb played perfectly in my TE stick. I have a question now though.

The stock harness had a connector that connected to the board on the opposite end of the one that connects to the stick. Well, the new harness doesn't have this, and it seems I've kinda ruined the connections inside the connector.

In short, I can't just cut the connector off and splice the wires into the new harness, I need to actually connect the exposed wires directly to the connector. Does anyone know the easiest way to do this?

Thanks in advance

Um.. you could have just rotated the sticks pcb board around. Why not just order a new push pin and hook the wires up to that. I can not recommend just having exposed wires hooked up to your connector since it isn't very safe, nor will it give you the best relay since it was not made to be hooked up that way. I say just order a new harness and perhaps ask for a guide or google the set up before you start.

Man, I took a look at your blog, now I remember where I've seen that artwork before. I remember seeing that posted here on the forums. I didn't realize that was you. In regards to the artwork request maybe dig dug or a 2d fighting montage?

sure. PM me ideas of what you want and I'll cook something together. I like the dig dug idea already :)

hey everyone- this might not be the perfect place for this post- but it's close enough.

I've been playing SF4 with a USB Saturn controller I got off of eBay. Like a lot of people I thought the D-pad was a lot looser than it should have been. it made it really hard to do certain charge attacks (Boxer mostly). After comparing it to my old american Saturn2 pad, I decided to take the controllers apart and switch the d-pads.

Once I had the control open, I discovered that there are 2 major differences in how the d-pads are assembled.

1) The USB controller has a small screw connecting the front and the back of the d-pad. It's not necessary due to how tightly the pieces fit together and all it seems to do is prevent the 2 pieces from being closer together.

2) The L/R triggers on the board are lower than the original control. The old buttons won't hit them trigger. To fix this, they added some foam padding to the bottom of the buttons to extend their reach. That's why the L/R triggers seem so stiff- because there is a surface between you and the trigger that compresses well before the button does.

In my initial fix, I replaced the whole d-pad with the one from my old controller. For the 2nd control, I just removed the screw. They both feel the same.

To me, it made a noticable difference in how easy certain commands were (DP). I haven't addressed the L/R triggers yet- it wasn't a big deal to me

For fun- I also attempted to transplant the d-pad of a US saturn controller into the USB control. The fat, unloved saturn control is my control of choice. Unfortunately something doesn't mesh right. It either sits too low, or the housing is too snug. I could pull off the attacks I wanted in game (jumps, DP, FB, etc), but the pad was very stiff and didn't feel like you were making the commands. I thought i might try to adjust to the stiffness, but I noticed that the controll had some serious difficulties navigating simple menues, etc. I'm going to look into shaving down the edge of the d-pad to make it have a smaller diameter- but i'm expecting this to be a lost cause.

Here's some pics of my modded TE Fightstick. I made some small mistakes during the process but you can't see most of them in the pics.
Are those e-reader cards under the stick in that picture?
Yeah lol. I think they were 15 cents or something when I bought them years ago.

Pretty cool suko, still waiting for some good v13 art to come around. I might be willing to finally put art on one of my sticks if it was good.
Still unreal that a PS3/360/Wii all in one stick hasnt come out by anyone.
The company that does that better have some awesome patents and even more awesome lawyers.

Im hoping some ghetto company in china takes the cause and then we all just mod the stick to perfection. One can hope, no?
Blitz just get a Madcatz SF arcade stick (for Xbox 360) and then add an MC Cthulhu to it or add somebody else to do it.
Doesnt solve wii issue =( Ontop of being super duper expensive.
Doesnt solve wii issue =( Ontop of being super duper expensive.
? why doesn't it solve the wii issue? just connect a gc controller cable to the MC cthulu board and it will work on your wii. Most games that you would use an arcade stick for allow for the GC controller to be used.
Isnt the MC cthulu just used to connect a wireless ps3 controller? or am i severely mistaken?
there's the cthulhu which is ps3 only and the mc cthulhu which is Multi Console

MC Cthulhu is like PS3/PS2/GC/XBOX/DC (+ more?). Original Cthulhu is PS3. Both are wired.

Then there are AXISdapters, which are adapters for the SIXAXIS controllers which are wireless. Toodles makes one and ShinJN makes another.

I think I'm done even bothering to try and find a TE stick, and I haven't had time to really devote to it, so fuck it. I think I'm going to mod my EX2 and be done with it. It's going to be cheap and easy...or at least I think it will be.

Unless you have some experience with soldering, modding your EX2 looks to be a pain in the ass.
I already received 2 TE sticks and 2 SE Sticks since they were all out of stock. It may have taken a month or two but they the TE sticks are definitely top notch. Puts my friends EX2 to shame(which was mines before I sold it to him). Buttons and Joysticks do matter.

Woo hoo!!! My JLF finally shipped (15 days after ordering) so I'll be able to finish my control panel over the weekend. I'll be sure to post some pics somewhere...

I managed to find and purchase a new Neo Geo Stick 2 for PS2. I have a Joybox PS2-to-Gamecube, inPin PS2-to-USB/PS3 and a Total Control 2 PS2-to-Dreamcast on the way. I have the stick and the converters should be here soon. This is a dream for me since I've always wanted to own Neo Geo hardware but could never justify the cost when I have so many Neo Geo games on other platforms. I blogged about it here.

So I was thinking about getting one of those old Ps2 SF2 15th anniversary Nuby fightpads to use w/ a GC adapter for TvC. Any thoughts on those fightpads compared to the newer madcatz ones? I like the feel of the madcatz fightpad

I have yet to pick up any of the madcatz pads yet, but I do own a Bison and Akuma for the xbox and a Chun and Ryu for ps2. They are alright, not a pad player so really can't say how good they are. I would think they would be pretty cheap though now.

Do you like Happ parts? If not, avoid the Nuby. I like my Sanwa-modded FightStick SE a lot. It has a good size and weight to it. The TE is great if you don't want to mod or wait for Sanwa or Seimitsu parts to arrive.

Well, you guys all had me interested in a modded stick eariler, but I thought it was not doable.

I ended up stumbling across a HRAP3 for $60 and jumped on it.

A couple nice CAGs have been giving me some help and advice on it. So far, I have downloaded GIMP and tossed this artwork onto the template. I would like to do this, what do you think?

Jaideam is also working on helping me with buttons. I would like to get clear ones and add the artwork into them to minimize missing artwork.
I also want to get a different colored top as a red ball won't fit the color scheme. Suggestions?

I think a mesh ball top would probably work well with that template
