I think I'm going to get a bomber of Avery's Maharaja, a 10.25% Double IPA, for this weekend.
That's very good. It's really, really hoppy though, so be ware if you're not a hop head.
Clipper City has several really good beers at the moment. Might be regional (based out of Baltimore, MD)... but if you can get your hands on some, I can assure you that you won't be disappointed.
They distribute pretty widely. I drank a good bit of their stuff while in the DC Baltimore area, and still find a lot of it down here in Atlanta.
Especially their Mutiny Fleet, the new bomber series of 22oz beers they've had out for a while. I've never been super impressed with any of their stuff though. It's not bad at all, but just always fell in the not great, but decent category for me. I drank a good bit of it before moving as there stuff was one of the better offerings the liquor store down the street from my place would carry, so I'd pick some up when I didn't feel like driving 20-30 minutes to a good beer store.
I will say the Mutiny Fleet stuff is much better than their standard offerings. The Big DIPA double IPA was solid, as was the Prosit! Imperial Octoberfest. I didn't care for the pumkin ale they put out much though.
Of their regular line up, the Heavy Seas Hang Ten is quite good, and the Peg Leg is ok for a cheaper imperial stout. I don't care for any of the beers under the Clipper City name really, just those couple of Heavy Seas offerings (the others are all ok as well) and the Mutiny Fleet.
