CAG Call of Duty 4 Night [Wednesday, 8pm EST]

Yeah, and I only want one game. It's almost the opposite of Headquarters. Less frag fest and more strategy.

I just played a hardcore TDM last night for like the 2nd or 3rd time ever, I am going to have to play hardcore more often more that was fun!

Hardcore is the only way to play IMO (Unless you need to get your weapons back, in that case HQ) I hate having to empty a whole clip in someone to kill them.

Just picked this up today ($40 at TRU this week!) and I'm getting my ass handed to me in the single player. Don't think I'm quite ready for the full online experience at this point, but I'll happily join you guys in the future.

The cool thing too Randy is that you can turn up at the official COD4 cag night and we can do private matches which will help get you accustomed, learn maps etc. And it won't count on your record.

Don't worry about the record thing. It evens out eventually. Hell, I'm still only at .7 k/d ratio, but I'm what I'd consider *good* at Domination. More often than not, I'd lead my team in points and to a victory. And when we don't win, it's because I'm on a really bad team or we're playing against a really good one.
 
its been fun guys, but I need to sell my PS3 for some $$$ for my big move back to California!

I'll be back on for sure once the MGS4 PS3 bundle comes out.

Cool cool...looking forward to it, as well. I got a couple of hours in tonight and it's a blast...very easy to get overwhelmed and lost in the levels, though.

The only shooters I've ever played where I actually considered myself good were Unreal Championship and Unreal Tournament...and I still get the snot beat out of me on those! Whatever...I play for fun, not because I've got to be better than everyone else. As long as there's room here for someone with that mentality we'll all get along famously.

Anyway, I just got disconnected from a match and had bad lag during my previous matches. That's so frustrating. I probably got killed 3 or 4 times more than I needed to because of the lag. Oh well. At least I'm not paying to get disconnected like I was on XBL. Right?

I was thinking about this and it seems like TMK can't coordinate because he's got too many friends on his list. On the 360 side of things, they have a friends of friends thing. They created a "dummy" account and everyone became friends of that account and then they could connect that way. Is there something like this on PSN?
 
We've had a good CAG night the last 2 saturdays, so there is still a following. Seems to be less than before. There just seems to be less people playing during the week.

I know I'll probably be there sat night.

It's continuing to run like Warhawk night, Burnout night, soon to be Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds night, and so on.

Things are getting better because I gradually increase my friends list with CoD4 players, and plenty of people who normally play have most people on their list. We actually had a private match last Saturday and it went really well. We only get 50 friends limit on PSN. The majority on my list ARE from CAG and DO play CoD4. Would emptying my buddy list just to have ALL CoD4 members at CAG help??? I don't think so (because there's still more. I've removed 40+ buddies before (You were one of them, but that was a while ago)).

The thing is, I just decided to do CoD4 night differently. Initially, I was aiming towards a big CAG get together, but in reality, that is near impossible to do (because there are more than 50 people who might play and regardless to how we may try to friend each other, someone will not be on who has access to certain people). What I decided to do is each night, if there is someone who wants to hold a private game OR party, let me know in this thread and I'll post it, for people can join the game (due to either being friends with the person or connection of friends with that person). I just feel that's a better way of handling it than just one CAG game.

The problem is, I push games on weekends, and you even mentioned once before you prefer playing during the week, so that alone can make things hard (usually attendance is low throughout the week and can be tough due to time zone conflicts).

And yes I know what I'm doing because I've coordinated multiple PSN games for a bit.

Yeah there are less people playing in the week, but like I said, if people want to play, let me know and I'll post it. js1 was just added to my buddy list, and he has many CAG CoD4 members on his buddy list he says, so that may open the door for more.

I didn't mean to imply that you didn't know what you were doing. Sorry if that's how I came across. :\ I just meant that you've got a lot of coordinating to do... And when was I on your friends list? I feel honored. ;) That said, I've been bad about trying to play with CAGs. The past 2 weeks were because my internet connection was up and down too much to play anything online and before that I was swamped at work. Now that I've finally got some time, I'm going to Japan! Oh well. April should be good for me and my CoD fix. I thought I was over it, but now I'm back and getting sucked in again. :lol:

Your k/d is still better than mine. :) As soon as I was able to play something other than FFA or TDM, I switched to Domination. I'm bad at killing people, but I'm good at finding ways to capture flags.
 
I need to play more COD4 online... Last time when I was playing with you guys, that was literally the third time I've played COD4 online since I bought it three months ago! :shock:
I don't even know what half the games online mean, such as 'Domination' (What is that? :lol: ). So yeah, I'm still learning the ropes.
It may be shocking to hear, but I am actually TERRIBLE in first-person shooters. And I didn't even like them that much for a long period of time. It was then that I played Warhawk, and all that changed for me. Sure, Warhawk is a third-person shooter, but it was that game that got me hooked on online shooters, and COD4 is actually my first console FPS ever (Very first was when I bought 'The Orange Box' on PC prior to this). I'm not that far into the campaign, but only because I've been busy and have a massave backlog to work on.

With that said... I'm looking forward to the next COD4 matchup! :D

Although, I’m terrible at most games which aren’t Fighters, Music/Dance, and Hot Shots Golf type games (I’m not the best, but can play hit par and birdies often).

But like I said, throughout the week, I try to update the thread telling everyone about a party being involved or private game throughout the week, while I host CoD4 on the weekends (which is kind of the main game).

Anyway, I may adjust my buddy list to add another CoD4 member, but I gotta do some research as to who would be the best to add.

I updated the thread title so everyone will know about the game tomorrow night.
 
CoD4 is big on the PS3 (and everywhere else...).

They have some interesting plans to show their affection to the fans though.

Renewed marketing campaign to coincide with the release of downloadable map pack

Call of Duty 4 is now officially the biggest game on PlayStation 3, according to the latest Chart Track information – and Activision plans to celebrate with a high profile consumer event and new downloadable content.

Alongside a renewed marketing push that will include online promotions with The Sun, SkySports, FHM, Kerrang and the MSN network, Activision will be inviting gamers to a special Boot Camp event where they can play the new downloadable multiplayer maps and compete for prizes.

“Call of Duty is now one of the largest video game franchises worldwide, and this has been achieved by combining a truly groundbreaking game with creative marketing campaigns that reach out to casual gamers as well as to core FPS players,” said Activision marketing director David Tyler.

Activision also recently revealed that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare had sold over seven million units worldwide, including over a million in the UK. The new downloadable multiplayer maps will be available on both Xbox 360 and PS3 early next month.
