Damnit, I was really excited about this. Reading on TYM, the 360 is the same. MK1 isn't bad, but MK2 & UMK3 are unplayable. No spectator mode. Apparently you can't input anything during the VS screen online which means no Kombat Kodes (not a big deal) and no Human Smoke (WTF?!?!).

I'm passing on this....

Oh and I'm totally down for a tournament tonight. I need that achievement anyways, lol.

Good games, Tom! I believe CS Extend has been confirmed to be retail only. I, too, would have preferred a DLC option certainly, but considering that they gave us the CSII update for free, I'm strangely okay with another retail package (I actually like the story)

On the other hand, this means I have to reach level 50 before CS Extend comes out. It's my last achievement. D:
 
I gotta actually play that damn game, all this support from arc systems is really neat. Maybe we could have a BB night? Im down to play even though I suck horribly at it and the system confuses the ever living shit out of me. I still like it.

How has everyone's luck been with 3SO ranked matches? I've literally only been able to play 1 match. It takes forever to search & when I do find someone the match isn't available. I'm hard wired and I have an open NAT.

I know it's a common problem but I'm just curious what everyone's luck has been. I really hope it gets patched soon :cry:.

Also I'm thinking about playing Denjin Ryu....
 
Ranked is atrocious. It's not worth sitting there for 10 minutes to find one match. And when I do find one, it often tells me that it failed to join. Once I get a match, I get a teleporting opponent. I'm not bothering anymore until it's patched.
 
Good games Wednesday night to Guardian, Gouki, Jayzin, and Tom (even though we've yet to play each other in 3rd Strike). I pre-ordered KoFXIII on Thursday (the soundtrack bonus looks nice) and just added myself to the Google spreadsheet.

Good games, Shinobi. I've been watching more of KoFXIII recently, and it looks really good. I'm excited to pick it up. I really wish they would say something about netcode, though.

There is also a thread on this in the deals section but I want people interested in fighting games to know that Gamefly is doing a used game sale and they have MvC3 for pretty cheap.

It shows $13.49 for me at 10% off for being a member.

Sure UMvC3 is almost here but for somebody who has yet to buy it and may not get UMvC3 for awhile I think its a good deal. I picked it up and look forward to giving it a spin.

Seriously, this game keeps getting better every time I see it. Online training mode & 2v2 combat are both really awesome. I'm not sure what I think about Pandora, it definitely looks interesting though.

I have absolutely no idea who I want to play in this game because everyone looks pretty ridiculous (in a good way!).

EDIT: Also, I wanna play BlazBlue so I can try this new Tager technology ;)

That's a pretty good price for the game, but unfortunately I think majority of the people in this thread already have MVC3 ;). Getting MVC3 now isn't a bad if you're wanting to learn the game. If you're primarily looking to play online, I'd definitely wait for UMVC3 since there are supposed to be massive improvements.

If you get it, feel free to add any of us for some matches. We're always looking for new people to join!

I never played MvC2 (I know....I know) so I want to play around a bit before
deciding on UMvC3. Plus....I have a feeling that game is ripe for a black friday deal.

I added myself to the spreadsheet and then got hit by a hurricane and lost power for a week. I'm not good at fighters, but I do like to play them. I'm excited that CAG has a group that likes to play these games.

Virgil looks pretty scary. On the surface he seems very similar to Dante, but he looks a lot faster. I'm sure Guardian can elaborate on this more since I don't really follow DMC. His power-up super seems like it tacks on a decent amount of damage but doesn't last as long as say Strider's (which it shouldn't, since it's only a Lvl1).

Iron Fist looks ok. He seems like a pretty decent rushdown character. I'm sure he'll be good with the right assists backing him up...

EDIT, I don't know why but the Iron Fist video isn't embedding properly.

I actually can't view the video since I'm at work, but I've been following the news on NeoGAF all morning. :p

Based on impressions thus far, Vergil and Dante only share 4 moves: Helm Breaker, Killerbee (Vergil's Starfall), Stinger, and Devil Trigger. Everything else is unique. He looks to be more of a combination of Dante and Strider at this point.

Vergil's teleport looks more akin to Strider's or Phoenix's than it is to Wesker's. His teleport will work in relation to his opponent (a tracking teleport), however he will have the option of several positions (in front, behind, away). Unlike Dante, he can teleport in the air. He has an airdash in Devil Trigger, though it is unconfirmed if he has an airdash without it.

His Summon Sword Hyper is a Lvl 1, and it works kind of like Ouroboros without projectiles, and does no chip damage. HOWEVER, it appears that Vergil can spend an additional meter to change the formation of the summon swords, and this WILL do chip damage and WILL gain meter on hit.

People are speculating that his Lvl 3 actually requires you to be in Devil Trigger, essentially making it a Lvl 4 Hyper... but this is not confirmed, though every video featuring him using his Lvl 3 shows him in Devil Trigger form. His Lvl 3 apparently looks like Super Judgment Cut, as in the video below (towards the end):

Of course, all of this is based on impressions, so take it with a grain of salt. We haven't seen much yet. I'm super excited to try him out, but I don't think I can replace Dante.

It's definitely going to be a very high risk/high reward kind of thing. I'm curious how long it'll last.

Also, the orbs above & below the cross gauge are going to do something. Perhaps some sort of ratio system?

I'm getting more and more excited about SFxT as they reveal the characters and mechanics. I have to admit that I was initially pretty lukewarm about this whole thing, but I love how they're promoting it. Ono and Haruda look like they're genuinely having fun with this title, which makes me feel like it'll be a blast to play.

Good games to Tom, Shinobi, Gouki, joe, F1ngers of Fury and Kensei. The upload feature is back up in 3S! So I get to see how that Perfect started. :p

22 minute preview of the console version of King of Fighters XIII. They recognize the huge issues with King of Fighters XII (it was pretty much crap). A look at tutorial mode and a lot of other features. Definitely worth a watch if you're on the fence:

I love Atlus and their down to earth interviews. They don't dish out PR bull like a lot of companies. It's refreshing. Biggest focus is online play at the moment.

It's a pretty prestigious accomplishment. If you're a tournament player, the chance to take on the best from around the world is really tempting, I'm sure. And the chance to make it past prelims as an American and be a part of fighting game history. It sucks what happened to Hsien and Banana Ken, though, through and through.

What was the deal with that? I tried reading spooky's and skisonic's tweets but I still didn't understand. I was mostly reading for Mike Ross updates and saw that he got 2 and out.
 
GGs last night to everyone in GOW3. Lots of fun, lots of laughs. It was kind of a nice change of pace.

I'm looking forward to getting back to our regularly scheduled fight night next week though :D.
