Congratulations to the entire CAG community as we beat our goal of $40,000, raising a whopping $42,810! Thanks to all who participated including our great corporate sponsors Play-Asia, Telltale Games (Tales of Monkey Island), Capcom (Dark Void), and Blueberry Muffin Tops Cereal.

In 2008, CAGs raised over $32,000 (up from $27K in 2007) for Penny Arcade's Child's Play charity. This year, let's see if we can hit $40,000 before the year is through.

For every $5 donated via PayPal through the CAG ChipIn system, you will receive one entry into a raffle to win a $500 Amazon Gift Certificate or other great prizes! Last year, the CAG Community donated some really cool and generous prizes and I'm sure the tradition will continue this year. I expect the prize list to grow and grow until the very end of the fundraiser.

You must donate through the ChipIn system or your raffle entry will not register. Use any of the ChipIn links in this post or the widget below. Just click the "ChipIn" button to donate. Donations are accepted via PayPal and go directly to Child's Play. ChipIn tracks our donations as a group, but the money is immediately deposited into Child's Play's PayPal account.

Any chance this could be pined to the top of the front page. It took me a while of scrolling up and down page before I noticed it.

There would have been no way I would have found it in the forums.

Just dontated $500.00. You are a idiot cheapy if you don't pin it to top page like last year. I wouldn't have found it if you hadn't mentioned it on the podcast. A lot of people here don't download the podcast. How are they going know about it. Stop screwing around and pin this shit.
 
Put mine in, my entire bonus(pre-tax). Please Cheapy do pin this thread it needs to be done, I myself go straight to the "Deals" forum everyday b/c i have it bookmarked, only reason i donated is b/c i remind myself to every year
 
Yeah, I'm surprised by the lack of attention CheapyD is giving the raffle this year. I thought last year there were banners and whatnot all over the site, I haven't seen a single one this year.
I still think it would be a good idea to make the post on the front page near the top every now and then as well, instead of letting it move on to the second page and stuff

I think this has a lot to do with why there aren't as many donations this year. I don't think we will make the 40k, lets hope we at least make about the same we did last year!
 
wow.....ok i see its pinned in the Off-Topic section....but from my perspective it isn't enough......most people like myself will come here and just hit the "Deals" section and thats it, it needs to be pinned there as well, so PLEASE Cheapy can you pin it on the Deals section, would make many people much happier if you did

Just a heads up Cheapy - with Adblock Plus enabled I can't see the widget at the top of the page.

I know a lot of people use Adblock Plus so I don't know if there is somewhere else you can put the widget for it to show up.
 
Another heads up on that Cheapy - I have a wide screen monitor and until I read your post about it being up, there I never saw the widget. It seems to be attached to the ad in the center top so for me it's not in the top right corner. Also, I never even look at the top of a page if there's a banner ad on top. Just thought you'd want to know, as I'm sure a lot of other people do the exact same thing.

Can you make it a little floaty widget that stays at the top of your screen even when you scroll? It might be annoying but I would've noticed it then.
 
Yeah, I have adblock plus installed, but I actually have it disabled for cag so the link is still up there. Having said that, I was looking for a link because I wanted to donate, but didn't notice the one in the upper right hand corner. I scrolled down to pretty close to the last news story to find it. I think you would generate a lot more donations if it was the top story all the time. If anybody complains, you can just call them out for hating sick kids.

It's been a tough year for everyone, but we also have to realize this shitty economy is hitting charities pretty hard too. That's why it's super important to give during these times, glad to see we are even in the thousands considering how many people have probably lost their jobs/homes/etc
 
I've currently on a mandatory furlough for work, but I hope to figure out how much I can spare for Child's Play soon. Come on CAGs, we can do it!

I finally put in $10. I think we'll get to 40k. Lots of people hem and haw before putting in their money, just like me! But lots of the hem-and-hawers need to finally take the plunge!
 
Last year was very slow at first as well, then we blew the doors of during the last 2 days. I hope we don't need to wait as long before people hope on board. Heck even $5 goes a long way people.
 
Donated once instead of ECA dues next year, trying to sell some stuff on fleabay/craigslist for one more donation. I'm getting worried we won't make our 40K goal
 
Donated former ECA fees for next year.

Also figured this would be the best way to finish off the remaining balances on my VISA gift card from last December. If you have any they are about to hit the 12 month mark where Visa will start getting the $2.50 per month that you should have donated to Child's Play.
