CAG Gaming Group - Rainbow Six: Vegas Thursdays (Gomer V1 or Wowous Hosting)

I'm sending out friend requests now, and will invite those people at a little bit before 8 PM East/5PM Pacific (Approximately 10-15 minutes before, then again at exact time).

XM + Shield will be restricted. Team sharpshooter. The Map rotation will be every map except maps where I believe grenades would unbalance the game (Casino vault and the really small map. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it's the two story small house). Any map with redux will take the place of the original map so we can play with newer maps (for those who haven't before).

I'll mess with the auto countdown. I'm not going to be strict about the [CAG], but if you guys want to kick someone, inform me. Make sure to have the Black and Red packs downloaded.

Invite CAGs you know, and let's try to have fun. If you want to change something, let's decide now.
 
You know I love Rainbow Six Vegas, and these free map packs.

fucking sucks, some dude stole my game. Really really pisses me off.
 
Server is up, join my game. Add me or list your gamertag to be added, I've only done the people that said they would show up tonight so far.
 
I can't make it to these things due to my time zone/schedule, but if you see me on, I'm usually game for a co-op session.
 
The server isn't working out, it seems to be dropping people at random. Someone from this list has taken over the hosting, I need attend to something else.

From what I can see, the biggest issue in this is getting people to stay in the game instead of leaving to do their own thing, and the difficulty in communication for the players to the host. Communication can be pre-arranged, but the players need to remain. Otherwise, the others don't have fun.
 
If the main room fills up for any reason, I will be alternate, overflow host. Im in pacific so I'll be on for a while, and act in coordination w/ room 1 when people leave.
 
I just got home and my roommate (x2hot2holdx) told me no one really showed up and the dedicated server sucked....whoever else was in the room or played tonight, lemme know any thoughts. I'll definitely be away from work next thursday night, tonight was an emergency thing.

The main problem with the dedicated server was not being able to talk to the Host via anything except messages, apart from that it didn't really bother me but I'm not sure there was any real advantage to it.

We had some pretty good games but it's better with more people.

Getting shot by an 11 year old over and over again didn't help my fragile self- esteem either :)

Yes the dedicated server made it very difficult to communicate with the host. Plus we only have 5-6 CAG's when we started up. Things were better later in the evening when more CAG's were online. We had some good matches in Dante's on Attack and Defend and Retrieval.

thanks to Jrcom for trying out the dedicated server, though. Thanks to everyone else for making it another good session.
 
Unfortunately I'm out this week... then again since I'll actually be in Vegas it should work out alright!!! :D I'll be back in for next week (8/16) though!

Things last week started slow but as the night went on things kept growing, it was definitely a good time. Sign me up again this week... I gotta play a two hour gig but I'll be around before and after!
 
I might be able to finally play this week.
My Xbox is supposed to come back from repairs.
Hopefully there are no more problems.
 
Wik and Assault Heroes. I don't think they're bad games, but I didn't get my money's worth out of them.

Then there's Castlevania, Worms, and TMNT, but I'm sure I'll get back to those at some point. Right after Marathon.

Anyhoo, I should be able to make it tommorow. 8 PM EST right?

Also, a request that we play conquest or assasination.

I don't know if you've played Assassination before, we tried it about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and it wasn't very good. The match lasts about 3 minutes and then you have to restart it.

After a very long absence from playing this with my fellow CAGs, I should be there tonight. It has been too long, and I think I am going to get on now and get some practice in.
 
I'll be on and playing tonight, with a big tumbler full of glenfiddich 12 year. I would also like to request if possible, that we use more of the newish maps as opposed to the casino level where A&D is always going on. I especially like retrival and conquest modes. The retrevial games we did last thursday was real fun.

Work sucks, I need scotch and shooting.

I'll run some retrieval matches and A&D on some of the new maps along side of normal Team Sharpshooters and Reg. Sharpshooters when the rooms are small.

Also, note to everyone, I'm gonna try the one cheat code that works online for the game that turns on tracer colors for shots (GIJOHNDOE as its known). I've heard its a blast have the colors around the map so we can give it a shot.

Could be, and I usually have solid green for most the hosts. I think while searching for matches today/tonight, I may have only came across 6-7 rooms that had a host with green (unless this has been normal lately, I don't know I haven't played R6 online in about a month and a half).

I don't know what happened to you today...You were shown at our spawn as if you were away from your controller but when I press start to check the list, you weren't there.
 
Another good night tonight, albeit a bit shorter than usually, but between host issues (what was up with Gomer sending everyone to red dots?) and my 360 crashing when I was hosting, we did have a blast with those retrieval maps.
 
Yeah it was a good time, I think I'm gonna start playing more retrieval since as we figured out last night, its basically Team Sharpshooter with a canister in the middle.
 
I have no clue what was with the red dots when I hosted cause it didn't happen the match earlier. Retrieval was fun but I wish it put more on scoring the canister rather than adding kills into the score. It'll be good to mix that in with attack and defends next week. Also, as promised last night, here are the codes (on the tracer colors work online):

While in game, open the pause menu, hold the left shoulder button and enter the following code:


All characters have big head: B, X, A, Y, Left Thumbstick, Y, A, X, B, Right Thumbstick
Change bullet tracers color: Left Thumbstick, Left Thumbstick, A, Right Thumbstick, Right Thumbstick, B, Left Thumbstick, Left Thumbstick, X, Right Thumbstick, Right Thumbstick, Y

So I guess I wasn't the only one having problems joining. Wierd. I was able to join other R6v matches using the custom match screen. Even when you guys had room avalible it screwed up. I restarted my router and everything.

I think R6v just has some network problems, as I've had this happen to me before, with a buddy who lives in my town.
 
Um, apparently CAG is not allowed as a prefix anymore? I was changing my character appearance, and when I tried to put CAG as my prefix, it said that CAG was offensive and wasn't allowed. Um?

Ummmm...

I haven't played in a few days (I'm in the process of moving to my new apartment), but I'll see if my prefix got changed.

Anyways, I'll be on for Thursday, not sure what time yet, but Friday is my birthday so I may be heading out Thursday night after we play, not sure.
 
Ill try to get on again this week.
I missed the hilarious conversations that we had during the R6 games while my 360 was getting fixed.
