It's in shadow. If I could rewind a few frames, it'd be perfect. :S
Now for a slightly related topic...
Short version:
Syn and I have been working on 635PP cars recently. Bear and Mad got to join us for a couple laps, but they never really got to tune them appropriately. That got me thinking a bit... I'd like to see one of our races regularly be a 635 PP race. Any car, any tires... basically, whatever you want to do with it is all good as long as you can keep it at 635 PP or lower. You can stop reading now if you have a short attention span.
Long version:
Syn and I have mostly been running on High Speed Ring with a variety of cars. I have generally been on the Ford GT variants, while Syn is floating between Nascar and the Calsonic GT-R. In public races, decent drivers (I'm ignoring the fools) have also shown up in 'Vettes, rally cars and muscle cars. In short, there's a huge variety in the types of cars that can be tuned to 635. Almost all of them are competitive. Most races have been won or lost with differences of less than a second on four or five laps (that's a good race, IMO).
Having a "standard" race like this would allow peeps to set up one car that they know will be competitive in at least one race every week. No more having to scavenge the UCD, pony up for a premium or make do with a recommended. Those with major bank might have three or four, but that's not really an advantage (I doubt I could ever build a car that will guarantee a win again Syn in a tuned Calsonic).
If we wanted to we could also dictate the track, so it's one less thing the host has to decide on each week. I could go through the entire list an throw out the ridiculous tracks. Toss them all in a spreadsheet, randomize it and that's our track order. Each week, we go to the next track. It'll give everyone a week of tuning and practicing if they want, plus it'll guarantee we run a wide variety of tracks. The track variety will pretty much dictate that you'll have to tune your car a little differently each week to stay in the running...
your car will NOT run the same on High Speed Ring as it will on Laguna Seca, I promise you dat!
In short, it's just an idea to give us some consistency, ease the burden on the host and the racers and give us some good racing.
Thoughts?
I think you all learned that lesson on Suzuka
I think part of the reason I did so well on Suzuka(besides the car) is I got bronze on it with the X2010. After running around Suzuka on that thing everything else is like slow motion.
I probably will start looking at other cars. I think the best I got the GT Citroen racecar was 627pp. There aren't many options available to add to that car. I didn't touch the transmission so I don't know what I can get out of it.
