CAG Gran Turismo 5 [CAG Race Night - Now Sundays at 6PM PST!]

Yeah, I wanted to pit it against the four Le Mans cars I have in a variety of PP situations. Tomorrow should be fine then, should make it interesting.

On an unrelated note, I got the Nissan 370Z 08 Tuned Academy version with the GT Academy patch on the side door and a funky-ish color from a 1k ticket last night. I had to reload the save a few times but I'm satisfied with the result. I'll need to try and work on the level 5 ticket, I really only want a Lotus 111R or the NSX Type Zero to pop up out of it or maybe the Volkswagen Beetle Cup Car.
 
I need to bust out my wheel again...my shoulder is feeling much better.....going through IB-3 - "the slalom challenge" killed me with a controller. That and I know I need it for the NASCAR racing.

Looks like I should try to pickup a LM car.....

I can bring a couple of my LMs and my Z06 RM as well, if it helps at all.

The start of the Tokyo race had me cracking up, Syn was so proud he was starting in first place. I almost pissed myself laughing when he started screaming as I passed him on the straight away.

You definitely mean the NASCAR races and not the special events, right? If you couldn't do the events... The actual races are a bitch and a half, I kept getting pitted among other idiocy.

Oddly enough, I got both cars when I hit the receive all button. Go figure. I know I received cart's car just fine the other day, guess that ticket in particular was bugged. Either way, everything is right now, I don't have that dumb red star any more.
 
Anybody have a regular chrome paint chip and a gold chrome paint chip they could send me? I'll send them right back, I just want to add those two to my collection to dupe.

I'll try to send it back, I think I read somewhere the servers reset(allow gifts again) around 12 AM GMT, so 7PM EST the latest if I can't send right away.

Incidentally, how's 7 PM est sound? j-cart is expected to be around around that time. Should give us time to put some rubber down and compare notes about the Z06 RM.

I was reading MyGranTurismo.net and it looks like the Lexus IS-F RM is also a possible substitute. If anybody has one of those they wouldn't mind duping for me or letting me dupe that'd be great.

7 is fine by me. I'm not sure if I have the IS-F. I know I don't have the RM version and I doubt I'll have money to convert it any time soon. I think I did manage to pick up a couple different LM cars I might try out.

If I get a gold or somebody sends me one, I'll definitely dupe you one. Running some remote races to cycle the UCD while I do random things.

I've generally found that the Dream Car Championship is the most "useful" series of races to run for me... One complete championship with my B-Spec awards somewhere just around 750,000 cr and cycles the entire UCD. The only downer is that you have to acknowledge stuff to start the next races... and you can't do it remotely, of course.

I want to feed my secondary duping account some money and B-Spec levels for cars and get you guys some money too. Between jello and j-cart, I think I got like 1.4 million in credits in the past two days so I'm trying to reciprocate. I also don't like taxing my own cars in B-Spec mode, my bobs beat the piss out of my cars and the repairs are not really worth a third of the overall prize payout.

Mine too... I just let them keep beating the snot out of the X2010 and I don't bother fixing it.

Once my first Bob gets his max experience, I'll retire them all and get some decent level remote racers set up and help everyone out with those. I just trying to get that trophy first.
 
Completely forgot I can have them beat up my Chrome, Stealth McLaren and the Joey Logano car. DLC cars are like 100 credits to restore the chassis on since they're rated at 0 credits so they can't be sold.

Might be a few minutes late... my Bob is finishing off a championship... might run a few minutes over if it's raining on the 'ring.
 
Just to top off my night, after trying not a crazy amount of times with a 1k ticket I got the GT Academy Tuned 370Z. Further more off the L9 ticket I snagged a GTR Prototype, so I didn't have to pay for that. I also recycled some loading of my 240 car paint item and got gold chrome after about 7 tries.
 
I know it hasn't been mentioned but just in case anybody is wondering, I'm taking this weekend off from the races. Two reasons namely.

One being I'm still decompressing, not set up, etc... and two I was reminded why I've been suddenly bitchy without explanation. So while things sort themselves out, I'll probably hold a smaller set of 3 races during the week that are minimally painful to run, I'm not committing to next week for LM races just yet though since we have some JGT cars, I may hold a JGT race.

Edit: New race rule to be instituted for future races. If you can jump a car over another car and land cleanly, you win the race.

bump for some lovin'....although I am hating on the LM cars....also the fact that I was bumped out of remote racing by a 4 year old who wanted to play Sonic the Hedgehog.
 
I'm with ya... Think we need a race on Sunday, even if it's a just a couple short tracks with cheap cars. I'm out of remote racing for a bit as I'm grinding the halibut out of my B-Specs just going for money... I'm running out of cars to buy and the ones left are reedikyoolussly expensive. :S

I could go either way on the LMs... I like that everyone can run different cars, but I'm not thrilled about the cost, performance or how hard it is to get particular cars. I also don't much care for the amount the chassis and engine rebuilds cost on those. A really rough testing session costs me $500k if I bounce off a couple walls. :S

I only do that every 10k miles. There were few out of schedule rebuilds I have done for stuff like time trials, where every tenths count, and races online I must win. By the end of 10k miles car is definitely down on power and handling is affected but all that will only make you a better driver.

You should only repair the chassis if it's affecting your handling, not because the option is there to do just that. Premium cars have a buffer that doesn't let you repair them until they suffer enough damage, Standard cars do not.

LOL. I've gotten better. Although jello couldn't tell that the last LM race when I was all over the f'ing place doing a mad scramble to retake the lead I lost doing something stupid. I have successfully avoided taking people out lately, though I know I should have in at least two situations.

The one in mine is the black and white one.
 
My RX7 LM (UCD) is dark red with yellow window sticker and wing... looks metallic to me, but can't be sure.
The Online dealer has it in green, with orange sticker and wing.

Light covers and hood vents are black on both, but other than that, they are one color.

BTW... I highly recommend everyone grab this if at all possible. Even though it's "price" in the dealerships is around $98k, it's NEW price is over 1,000,000 (same with RX-8 LM). They can't be traded, so you may not see one again for a while. It also happens to be a great car. ;)

I have nothing set up. I got up early today because I sold a hot water tank last night, so I got up at 6:30, ran to our garage to get two fittings because Homie Depot didn't have female adapters, ran to the install and finished at 12. Got home at 12:30, had pizza and hard boiled eggs then slept until just before 7pm.
 
Want to just run some informals with recommended cars only? There'd be no cost to anyone and not a whole lot of organization needed. I'm okay either way, I just feel like CAG Night is dying a slow death. :S

j-cart started a new job, give him a bit of time to figure his chit out. I've been battling depression, anxiety and the insomnia that stems from both. I'm pretty sure by April I should be a little more consistent. I just don't really have the energy to be productive racing at the moment, I really feel I should be doing other things like getting my car up and running again but I've spent the past 6 weeks on call to supplement my income because hours have been crap.
 
I got back this morning so I'm looking forward to CAG Nights. I'll be picking up the new NASCAR game on Tuesday so I'll probably play that a bit more now that GT5, but I still look forward to racing with you guys :)

Suggestions for some future races (should be cheap and easy to snag vehicles)...

MR under 450pp @ Rome - MR doesn't always mean supercars... think MR2 and Autozam. ;)
Truck challenge under 550pp @ Tokyo - Yes, they're big, parts of Tokyo are small... should be entertaining. :)
Junk race - 70 HP max, must be under 1000kg. Any smallish track.

When we have our next race join us, its a good bunch. Charge your mic, we talk alot. Tell us if you don't have a certain car, we'll help out in that department too.
