CAG Gran Turismo 5 [CAG Race Night - Now Sundays at 6PM PST!]
I was only asking because I have The Shelby Cobra, '63 Race Vette, G4, Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 ‘65, 300SL Coupe '54, and RM Camaro Z28. I understand now that you want European cars. If that is the case, I am fine with that. I have the cars for it, just make what you want the race to be clear.
That'd be why I said I'd have to make categorizing better. Online Dealer cars were I guess not so appealing for people, that's fine with me. I set a PP of 550 and everybody wants to meet it in another car not on the list. Once again, that's fine. For this one reason though, I don't like using PP because it's the mad dash to the PP limit.

I pretty much have all those cars too, I think I'll stick with the G4. It's tiny, like a babeh!

Just going to make some changes and updates to the races and line up, notably the Historic car race has been changed entirely. A proper Historic, non-Muscle car race will be on the ticket for next Sunday. Also more as a reminder for myself Sarthe and Tokyo for next Sunday, Le Mans 650PP.

March 6th 6PM PST Race:

 1. Le Mans car race - 630PP w/Racing Soft Tires, Daytona 10 laps.
 2. Le Mans car race - 630PP w/Racing Soft Tires, Eifel Circuit 7 laps.
 3. 22B STi race - My Alaska D track. 500PP w/Snow Tires.
 4. TVR race - 550PP w/Sports Soft tires on another one of my custom Toscana tracks.
 5. The not so Historic car race '70 and earlier -550PP. Cape Ring Inside w/Racing Soft Tires.

Sorry Mad (and everyone else)... something came up (fambly) and it's really unlikely that I'll make it tonight. :( Trust me, I'd much rather be racing. If I can make it, I will, but it's probably not going to happen.
Mad is it possible if you could share your Alaska track? I need some practice with the 22B on snow.
I thought I did have it shared. Let me double check. Yep, shared. It's called Snow D, I'm only able to upload one track at a time, so it's the only one there.

I'm getting pissed. First it was random disconnects with MAG, now this.

I don't know what going on with my playstation or my ISP but it's stressing me the fuck out.

If you have a router, try restarting that.

Mad's Snow D track is sick. That last turn is going to be a doozy.

Reset router, clear the GT5 cache(from the options menu in GT5), allow UPnP and just make sure you're forwarding all the necessary ports, UPnP is not always perfect in doing what it should.

Ports for Gran Turismo 5 are 3479 UDP, 3658 UDP, 3478 UDP and 5223 TCP and UDP. For Port Forwarding directions on various routers, check http://portforward.com/

Edit: Forgot to mention the prize cars. Daytona prize is a choice between 2 Mugen S2000's from my shared cars. Eifel Circuit is a '69 Stingray L46. Both are standard cars, they will be fully restored(engine and chassis) before being turned over to their new owners. I've only had 3 Mugens pop up for me and only 2 Stingray L46's, so I consider those a bit rare and hopefully they'll make a nice prize.

Did everything you said.

First I went here.

And I came out with this.... is this right?

And by resetting my router you mean just unplugging from the wall for a couple minutes or are we talking about restoring factory settings?

Just unplugging from the wall for a couple of minutes.

Sweet prizes Mad! I'll make sure to do an race report on this one.

Yeah, unplugging for 10+ seconds is fine. That should clear up any issues you're having, try to also make sure no torrenting programs are running, as that will use up most of your available connections from the router. The PS3 also has a couple of other specific ports but try that out and see how that treats you.

Just added those ports. Should I restart my router (again)? I can never remember if you have to do that after adding ports.
Sweet prizes Mad! I'll make sure to do an race report on this one.
I was meaning to ask you to do a race report but I didn't want to impose. I'm otherwise am suffering from a sinus thing right now and beyond racing, I'm not sure how much I have left to give in terms of reporting.
Just added those ports. Should I restart my router (again)? I can never remember if you have to do that after adding ports.
It doesn't hurt to reset a router, I much prefer to do it and know it's working rather than not and it lingers in my mind.

OK, so is there a list for the LM cars? I need to buy one before I get into the room tonight and I'm hoping for a list to make it easier.

I'll try to piece something together. smthng had tried putting together some stuff he had, these are the confirmed LM cars that we're looking for though.

BMW M3 GTR Race Car '01 - 443 HP, 354 ft-lb, FR, 1120kg
Mazda RX-8 Concept LM Race Car - 501 HP, 405 ft-lb, FR, 1100kg, 587 pp
Nissan Fairlady Z Concept LM Race Car - 620 HP, 589 ft-lb, FR, 1120kg, 642 pp
Mazda RX-7 LM Race Car
Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car - 512 HP, 284 ft-lb, MR, 1230kg, 567 pp
Audi R8 LMS Race Car '09 - 522/548 HP, 392 ft-lb, MR, 1300kg, 590/597pp
Nissan 350Z Concept LM Race Car
Nissan GT-R Concept LM Race Car

Japanese GT cars will also be allowed to the PP limit. So the two Online are Tom's Supra and the Calsonic Skyline, the other premium JGT cars that are 950k are allowed as well. I strongly, strongly suggest you find a tune for Eifel, the aerodynamics take some getting used to. The M3 GTR listed above is in the Online Dealership as well.

There are other LM GT1 LM cars out there, I'll make an effort to buy as many as I can and/or collect info about them.

So of all nights I'm having issues with my router...will try to be on within the next 5-10 minutes if you guys don't mind waiting.

I can't fucking connect to the GT servers. Something to do with DNS.

Of course I'm online now and can't connect to the room.

Let me see if I can find you a DNS IP addy to use.

I've tried DNS, DMZ...nothing is letting me connect to you guys. I can get online, Nat type 2, everything checks out, but I can't connect to the room.

Good racing guys! Been playing a lot of GT5 lately, it felt really good to be able to keep up this time. I really enjoyed the races. I would really like to do Mad's Historic Cup Race, the Alfa that I have would be a fun drive.

Congrats the Natural_Defect for taking home the win. Once you had first place, you had it on lock down. SynGamer came in late, but he came in the right time to be a threat on the course. Seriously it was pretty intimidating to see you constantly in the rear view, then of course I had my first wipe out. I'll try to have the report of as soon as I can.

Keep those racers shared and I'll keep racing them.

I had a surprising good set of races and my sinuses didn't act up too much. We got a later start waiting for Syn but once we got started things motored on. The JGT cars cap out at a lower top speed than the Le Mans as evidenced by the 1-2 finish on Daytona but it all evened out on Rome with the JGT cars. Eiffel was a no-go since I didn't realize that that particular Eiffel track is a custom course, which I'll have to do my best to remake.

I also think the penalty system on weak worked out well for the Le Mans races, nobody really had any troubles with other drivers and those that were in a position to do damage turned transparent and didn't wipe people out.

Daytona would have been closer if there were more Le Mans cars, so try to get one. Once there are another 2-3 more cars, a rematch on Daytona and Indy will be in order.

Okay fellow gaming geeks, get your B-spec drivers primed....I'll be doing some remote racing tonight and Wednesday night during my class.....3-3 1/2 hours each night. Did one race last night....think I got j-cart, jello, and mad's drivers in there since no one else on my friends list had any drivers shared.
I have 4 drivers shared I believe. They mostly suck so feel free to use them for an easy win :p
I usually run the Trial Mountain course. The cars are so spread out in terms of power, if a low level pulls the W12, they have a chance to get into the top 3 easily. V8 Vantage is an auto-loss regardless of level lol.

And now this morning, the RX-7 LM shows up in the Used Cars lot. Now I got 3 LM cars to play with. Expect the report to come soon.

Syn - can you please double check, as I do not believe your drivers were shared as of 1030pm CST last night. I went through my list and was going to pull a few drivers from everyone but only ended up using 3 people. Since I'm not able to access it now I cannot tell you....but if you got points from me, then your drivers were.

I haven't gotten points from you, but I can confirm Jello and J-cart have boosted my drivers from 0-22 :D I'll check now though.

EDIT: one of my drivers was used by you, looks like I'm good to go :)

The RX-7 LM is awesome. It was awesome to me because it was an RX-7, because it has a sexy livery and mostly because it just handles well. I'm afraid to throw more work into the suspension and have pretty much accepted that there may only be tuning the Aero to each track accordingly.

I'm not very consistent in terms of results so tuning is where I equal myself out as a driver. The sensitivity settings have helped level the field though. As long as I keep growing my tuning skills, I should produce better results. That and I need to take some Ritalin or something because I keep getting distracted by my lap times and the number markers that pop up during a real race.
Did the "popcorn" issue get fixed as soon as I left?
Yeah, there was no more popcorn. I'm thinking your mic is feeding back to it's self briefly but not enough to cause feedback or echo. My mic icon was lit up which was probably feeding it the necessary noise for the popcorn. I can always swap out to another mic next time and see where we end up with yours when it's making the popcorn.

On a side note, everybody still have their Evos and Subie from that Evo vs STi race a while back? I finally got a decent tune for my Evo(understeering bitch) and would like to pit it against some real competition.

It's def my mic. I'm in the Audi Device Settings and it sounds awful. What wierd though is that it has a pattern to it...... I wonder if it's interfering with the wifi in my room or something. Or maybe this thing is a POS and I need to buy a new one. I was looking for an excuse to buy a turtle beach headset.

Your PS3 connected via wifi? Is it a bluetooth headset? If the answer to both questions is yes, then that may be why you're having issues with your disconnects/connection as well.

Nah, I'm connected to the router via ethernet. I dont even use the PS3 controller either, I used the PDP afterglow. I hate lag of any kind, so when it comes to any kind of competitive environment I'm wired from head to toe. The router is located right next to my ps3. Since I'm so close to the wireless router I thought (that) was somehow affecting my bluetooth headset.

But, like a total freak I turned off both my cell phones and the PS3 keyboard and disabled the wifi on the router for a bit and I'm still getting that popcorn sound.

When I was using my old PS3, I never had any mic issues. With my new PS3 sometimes I got what's referred to as the "Chopper Gunner" sound effect that required a reboot of my PS3 to fix. I never heard it until I went into the audio settings when people mentioned it. Not even different headsets worked for me. It only happened a few times but that was the end of that so far, I try to make sure to reboot my PS3 before getting competitive(at least in MW2 since it has a memory issue).

I see a Gran Turismo Green Metallic Furai Concept, dunno if I should grab it or not........this makes me thing that the matte black one with the red wing is obtainable too.

I need to focus on this remote racing....nothing like throwing my level 0 driver into a race with a bunch of level 20 drivers. A lap down 15 laps into a 25 lap race....

I've been completing a lot of my B-Spec stuff since people jacked my six drivers to all 21+. I'll try to get around to abusing your shared drivers, I've just been cycling the UCD and picking up cars so that's been taking up most of my time.

I'm abusing your drivers....no worries....I just wish you could pick more than one of your own drivers....which reminds me that I have an account for my son....ah, if you ever see Joe Danger it is a 4 year old playing it....unless it is after 8pm Central.

Next Sundays races in no particular order:

 2. Le Mans Race @Tokyo - 650PP Racing Soft Tires. See notes.
 3. Le Mans Race @Trial Mountain - 650PP Racing Soft tires. See notes.
 4. Evos vs STis - Taking suggestions on track, need to max out my STi to set a PP limit. Racing Soft Tires. Any Evo or STi will do.
 5. TVR @ Rome - 550 PP Racing Medium Tires.
Notes to follow, not quite thinking straight. Expect same time, 9 EST Sunday.

So, we're doing it on Sundays now?

I don't get out of work until 9EST this Sunday, it usually only takes me about 10-15 minutes to walk home, so if you could wait until 9:30ish, that'd be great. I really shouldn't be any later, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

I'm just posting races for next Sunday. If you want a firm day of the week which is better for you, I'm not the one to ask. I've held smaller Sunday races but with no Official race night currently set up, unless somebody else hosts their own night... That's the best you're going to get from me as my weeknights are not guaranteed between me, my dog and MW2 getting patched tomorrow.*My dog and I will not be patched, just MW2.

Given that we started incredibly late this past Sunday with DC and Syn having connection issues, anything is possible but again, I'd like to try to start as close to the start time as possible. We've been doing more laps so you should only miss a race if we started at 9:15. I also tend to leave the main event for last, which would be the Le Mans races.

Realistically we don't start til 9:30 usually and the room doesn't go up til like 8:30-50.

My connection should be rock solid from here on out, haven't had any problems as of today. That port forwarding thing helped me out a lot.

If it gives you any more shit, here's a link for the rest of the ports to forward direct from Sony. I'd forward the PSN and first party servers since you were having issues with MAG as well. I've never forwarded a headset port or needed to, so I wouldn't bother with those as they really really shouldn't need it and UPnP can set that up on it's own.

Edit: not wanting to double post. Just a reminder if you're going to be racing competition spec cars, don't let your B-Spec drivers run long races with used cars you haven't fixed the chassis on. I let my Bob run I want to say at least 4-500 miles on my LM RX7 and it definitely needs a chassis restore because the performance levels are really not where it should be. I'm getting too much body roll. Ouch, pricey.

Maybe you should cut back on the beer or margaritas. :)

Jerk+1 --> me

Notes:

 1. Historic Car race - Not every car will meet 475 PP. Do not ask me to raise or lower this. Max out what you can because these cars vary wildly from one make to another.
 2. Historic Car race - No American Muscle. Period. Cars must be sporting cars. No muscle cars allowed.
 3. I forgot what my Le Mans notes were going to be.
 4. JGT Cars can be substituted to Le Mans but must be FR cars.
 5. Le Mans cars will take preference. Prize cars will only be awarded to Le Mans car drivers.
 6. One of the Prize cars will be a Toyota Supra Turbo restored. Fully tuned it gets 725 hp and around 700 torque, so it's not a dinky car to say the least. I, however, will not be tuning it.
 7. Prize cars will only be awarded for Le Mans races.
 8. Le Mans races will culminate into a Le Mans car cup, 5 races with the winner taking a million dollar car as the Prize. Expect 2 more weeks before the LM Cup.
 9. Prizes for the LM Cup will only be awarded to LM car drivers.

Jerk+1 --> me
Not enough beer nor margaritas in me, that's the problem. I was flipping out last night after doing the JGT and so many other races and then running the A-Spec Tuned Car championship and the car would roll rather than oversteer. Pissed off squirrel more than sad panda.

I did bust open a bottle of Sol and it was a nice reminder of what Corona was supposed to taste like. Between Sol and Dos Equis, those are the only two Mexican beers I can vouch for.
