CAG Gran Turismo 5 [CAG Race Night - Now Sundays at 6PM PST!]

My bumping? I drift way more than I bump. Since it's Ice Age 4 out here I may or may not be going to work, so a set of races may be in order for today if anybody is interested.
 
I may be around....note the word "may". I am at home, but have a 4 year old to entertain. Road was drifted over in the neighborhood and a plow finally came through and the street underneath looks like an ice rink. I'm in for the day.....
 
I just need to warm up my truck, walk my dog and probably shovel/scrape/salt a little, so expect me around 8 pm. I got some much needed rest today and I feel a bit better, just need to get some caffeine into me too.
 
Sunday sounds decent. I've been itching to test out the tune on my RX7, I decided to tweak back on the pure drift settings I had because of the cheap and aggressive outside overtaking that takes me out once a race night. It handles surprisingly well now that I've somewhat fine-tuned and figured out how the LSD works. I'm going to have to set up two more as prize cars.
 
8pm CST on Sunday is when I will start..if I am leading. 3 set races and others with online "stock" cars after that. Let me finish getting p!ssed off with this VMware session I am trying to setup and then I will post specifics.

when you get that ending movie.. does that mean that you've "completed" the game (although there's still plenty to do?) - I trying to update my completed games post.
 
I might be heading up to Washington DC on Sunday night... if I end up holding out until Monday, I'm down for a race. Got pretty much everything listed, but I'm with SynGamer... I don't want to race a stock car (meaning Nascar) if there's another option.

BTW... The ending movie means nothing. There are actually two, and neither one of them is the end. ;)

If anyone feels like it, I'll be on for some racing tonight. Will probably just run some recommended cars and tracks, so no need to build anything up.

Oh, btw... 500 cars yo! :)

You're a long way from it in this one. About the only real measurable completion you'll get is on your GT5 profile. http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/gt5/user/

Sign in with your PSN account and click the Profile button. It'll show you a "game progress" percentage. I don't know how it's calculated but it's probably the only thing you'll see that gives you any real indication of how close you are to "done".

If you're looking for some kind of comparison, I'm levels A-Spec 29, B-Spec 40 and am at 91%. I doubt I'll ever reach A-Spec 40, so if that's part of the calculation, I'm skrood.

You don't even have to go through all that, just hit "profile" in GT5.......it's all laid out......
 
Car Loan in Events
In A-Spec, B-Spec and [Special Events] in [GT Mode] - [GT Life], you can now borrow cars that your Friends have set to share with friends.
For details see 6-16 [Borrowing and Lending Cars] in the [Manual] accessible from the main menu.

I never even knew that borrowing was allowed or that we could set vehicles to share with Friends. Guess I will have to look into that so I can steal, er, borrow, some of Mad's RX-7s that he's tweaked.
 
Performance Points where the greatest thing they could have done. It's opens the door for waaaay more competition. Been racing with a group of people this morning for about 4 hours just testing everything, using a wide array of different cars and we all came to the conclusion that this is a way better system so you dont get sandbagged by some dick face. Really fun!

It's funny though, I've almost completed the game and now they're rolling out all this stuff. It's a nice effort by PD though to roll all this stuff out in the first place.

Sweetness! I just wish they'd run the remote racing out earlier... I just finished the last of my B-Spec races about 20 minutes ago. :S

OMG! There are checkmarks next to the cars I already own in all the dealers! RAWK!!! I can finally throw the damned spreadsheet away! :)

BTW... Online dealer is now a couple pages.

Anyone know if replays have shuttle controls yet? That's the one big thing I really WANTED to see.

It may be 815 or 820 CST before we can kick off...think I have something going now until 8pm....but will try to be up and ready then.
 
If anyone needs slots to fill for their remote races I have 5 guys ready to go. Feel free to use them how you wish. I heard once all three lights are filled up on your driver you get a car or something. So farm away my friends!
 
I just got a surround sound set up and I need to set up the sub but other than that I'm ready to rock. I think I need to play with speaker placement some but screw the headphones, this is much sexier. I wonder how much speaker break in time I can expect to look forward to, my surround on the left is a little lacking but that's because I think most things use the right channel more than left.

I've noticed that on my PS sound bar as well. But only with GT5. Other games I can here things coming from all around, and movies too. Thank jebus I have a small room with 4 equal walls so I get the right angel for everything.

I've got two RX-7s set up and probably a third by the time I get home from work today(yes, it's Sunday, god damned people). The base premium RX-7 Spirit handles very nicely and very naturally, I actually made attempts to get the earlier models to handle similarly and I got one from 92 that puts up a similar time as the Premium one. I really want to say overall without going nuts, the base model is probably the best balanced and probably the easiest to tweak since you'll just be wanted to add understeer to it if anything and that's mostly on the acceleration side.
 
Will be on shortly before 8 CST if I have my way....been doing a project most of the weekend and have some important stuff to do before I hop on.....
 
Do whatever you want....I'll go play something else......seriously...I've spent all weekend correcting a contractors fuck up. I'm not in the mood for 11th hour request...sorry.
 
In the Online Dealership, there is a Subaru Impreza Coupe 22B STi. This is by far the rarest STi in the game. Pick it up today. It's just under 40k and be prepared for future 22B races.
 
I put up a room for the time being if anyone is interested.

EDIT: I want to get some opinions on my custom track if at all possible...jello and I are currently playing it.
