CAG Grifball Team's Child's Play Charity Drive! $1612.50 raised to date!

Cheap Ass Gamer will be playing against Bleep Bloop! on Wed., Dec. 31st, at 6:30pm CST. This match will be broadcast LIVE over the internet with guest commentary/announcing. If my sources are correct, you can make a quick account and watch the game at the following link:

Latest CAG News (1/12/08):
Going into the 5th & 6th weeks, Cheap Ass Gamer holds a 6-0 division record before going into its hardest games this week, against rival team Bleep Bloop! (22-10 Overall), and 2-Time League Champion Grunts of Fury (38-1 Overall).

Cheap Ass Giraffes currently holds a 5-1 record, defeating Utards 8-1 last night, and netting a forfeit win over defunct team Internal Error. They are currently 2nd in their division, behind the undefeated 1st place team at 6-0.

So I see that we have 4 matches left.They are all teams we have played before. Are we doing all 4 this weekend or 2 this weekend and 2 during the make up week?
 
Cheap Ass Gamer loses against Grunts of Fury in a 0-9 demolishing, and pulls a 5-4 in a hard fought, 27 minute long matchup against Bleep Bloop! With BB! earning a respectful +73 Kill/Death Ratio, and CAG getting a disgraceful -96 K/D Ratio, the game was nothing less than a down to the wire upset with CAG coming out on top.

With two games remaining in the season against Grunts of Fury and Pepsi Elite, Cheap Ass Gamer all but locks in a spot in playoffs.

Most likely 2 this weekend and then 2 on the makeup week.

I blame the way I play now for my K/D which works out better overall despite my lack of killing.

Next Grunts game, I fully expect to score regardless of who's host. Even if it's Flowers host, who's one of the most difficult people for me to connect to behind HotShot (I'd prefer you to pull host over Flowers so it's not in their favor for once anyways) and someone else I can't remember off hand.

Regular Season is over, awaiting final rankings and playoff seeding. Congrats to both teams on two very successful regular seasons and good luck in the playoffs.
Cheap Ass Gamer finishes 17th out of 66 Legacy Teams.
Cheap Ass Giraffes finishes 12th out of 84 Rookie Teams.

Out of curiosity, I ran my connection through speedtest.




For those who have played with me, that should tell you everything you need to know. Testing at various other places, my connection peaks at 19000 Kbps, and bottoms out at 1900 Kbps. Fun times.

A good 80 or 90% of those betrayals weren't lunges that caused me to be in your hammer range yesterday... You were playing worse than usual that second game. Then at least half of those, if not more you weren't anywhere close enough to kill an enemy.

I dub thee with the 'fullmetal' syndrome.

I swear i was within range on at least 75% of those betrayals (in range of the enemy) but yeah, that second game i couldn't kill worth a damn.

And if you are talking about the Grifball Noobs game then i could not get a kill either i got raped by that host.

Unfortunately the CAG Grifball Franchise had its roughest weekend all season, with both teams being defeated in Playoffs. This marks the end of Gamer's 3rd season, and the Giraffes' 1st.

However, while there will be some time to rest, bear in mind that the Spring League 2009 season is just around the corner, and, if rumors are to be believed, will start soon after the conclusion of Winter Playoffs. The Cheap Ass Giraffes have earned their Legacy status, and will be entering the big leagues in the Spring.

As such, if any of our fellow CAGs are interested in entering the League, start making your posts in this thread now. The current Legacy members of CAG will be shifting about the 2 current Legacy Teams, but if demand is sufficient, a 3rd CAG team will be formed for the Rookie League.

So, if you can hold a schedule (THIS IS IMPORTANT), and can make a regular practice and play 2 Grifball matches a week (on the same day), come try out for the team. Reply in this thread with the following:

Experience:
Preferred Position:
Connection Speed:
Geographic Location:
Days / Times Available:
About Yourself:

Past a certain point anyways.

Geographical location is more important really, so we can't have someone on our team from Zimbabwe or Mongolia. Meaning your gay ex-lover that you had a long distance relationship you had over the phone where your mother noticed a $10,000 phone bill is out of the question.
