I don't know why they do that, but my player sounds like a redneck 50% of the time. He sounds like Mater from Cars, while saying 'hey there' and 'howdy partner'.

Mind you, for a real first attempt at online play, Rockstar did a decent job. But the glitch where you get kicked and can't rejoin until the people you're playing with make a totally NEW game and the other others I've encountered, almost make you not want to play online.

I don't think anyone knows... I'd probably rank 7 or so by now if it saved all my progress.:roll: I've had rank 4 or 5, then got dropped to 0, then I was stuck at a certain $ amount that would be reset after restarting the game, then my rank was good when metaly hosted, but now I'm back to 0/1.:roll:
The online server's stat tracking skills are really wonky.

For those currently monitoring the thread: should I bring my PSP (recently snagged LocoRoco2 and Prinny) or my DS (just picked up Moon and Viva Pinata) for the plane ride?

Las Vegas, huh? That reminds me of Las Venturas in GTA San Andreas. I just turned in my old copy to Gamestop a few weeks ago (along with a bunch of other games I never play anymore) for some store credit. I picked up some $.99 PS2 games while I was there.

There's a good chance I'll forget about GTA night this week since I'll be so busy playing those. :p

Speaking of San Andreas, I the only one who would spend hours stealing the HUGE jumbo jet from the airport there and flying it into buildings? If fucking Rockstar hadn't taken planes out, I'd spend every GTA IV night landing them on people's heads. :lol:

Uh, as for DS/PSP, I'd go with the DS unless you have a spare PSP battery for the plane. Let me know how MOON is.
 
I've got a giant stack of crap games that I can't seem to unload on CAG or Craigslist that I'm going to take to GS before I leave tomorrow. They're running the tiered trade-in bonus so I'm aiming for the extra 50% value with my Edge card. I don't like giving GS my money but I'll happily take theirs.

...and pre-order GTA Chinatown Wars with it!

San Andreas was the only other GTA I ever played all the way through. The biggest element of that game that I miss in GTA4 is the jetpack. It totally wouldn't make sense in Nico's narrative, of course...but zipping across the desert with that thing was a lot of fun.

I'll try not to run afowl of the Chinese mob while I'm in Vegas.

I've played through all of them GTA III (once), VC (twice), and SA (2x on ps2, 3x on xbox) I love San Andreas, seriously one of the better games to grace 2005/2006

Actually, I was hoping that when Rockstar said 'once you destroy something in the game, it'll STAY destroyed', they meant that we were going to get Mercenaries styled destructible environments.

However, I guess they only meant that once you have to obliterate a building for the main single player game, it'll stay that way in single player.

Grabbing the jumbo jet from the huge hangar at the Las Venturas airport to fly into buildings wasn't really all that gratifying, since all it did on impact was pinball and at the most make a small mark on the road that would disappear within 10 minutes.

From the list of things they took out from San Andreas in this game, I probably miss the parachute the most. I mean, what the fuck Rockstar, give us a huge city with tons of very high buildings and NO way to SAFELY get off of them should our helicopters get blown up?

As for the rest of the things they took out, I miss the flamethrower the most, since I'd have loved to bar-b-q some players in multi with it.:razz:

The rest(that I can recall), in the order I miss them:

*incremental rewards for finding packages(or in this case killing pigeons)
*jetpack
*attack chopper or plane with ROCKETS, not these pansy ass chain guns
*planes
 
Gta 3 was the only game to have a secret code that allowed you to shoot off the arms, legs, and heads of everybody. I really miss the parachute too. Can you imagine parachuting only to have another helicopter chop your body up into little pieces. Last night I crashed near a cliff and when flying through the windshield hundreds of feet into the ocean.:applause:
I was on a dirtbike the other day and cheapestgamer flew a heli at me knocking me about 20 blocks away, giving me enough time to do 10 flips in the air.

they should just go head and remake the damn game or do a san andreas stories. whatever it take to be able to play in the world of san andreas with multiplayer and all the bell and whistels. gta4 just feels like a basic game its functional and playable but very forgettable. very dissappointed more people from the previous games didnt show up either.
 
I'm gonna be home and ready for some GTA fun, like nuking everybody into next week since I'm in a bad non silly mood this week, so watch out for low flying choppers en masse and me running at many of you with grenade primed and cooking as I run. :D

It's all about seeing how much damage I can cause this week.

No, they're not, but I know when we have many who say 'I'll be late', it usually ends up that GTA night is cancelled.

Or in my case, fly helicopters and attempt to land them on people. :lol: Mind you, since Metaly always makes the deathmatch mode games through all of Liberty City and less than 15 minutes long, it's usually too short of a time for me to go find and grab a chopper and fly back to annihilate people with it. :cry:

I have a Logitech one that I bought from Gamestop a while back for $19.99. It has no mute/volume button on it, but it's fairly comfortable.

I could probably do it for $10 shipped with DC just to get rid of it.

Personally, I don't know why the hell I didn't keep the Socom one I have now that I'm using again that I RE-bought at an out of town Gamestop for $10, since it's the best wired one for the PS3 that I've found.

I also have the Jabra 215 Bluetooth headset from the Warhawk bundle that I could do for the same deal, which I'll include the woefully short USB charging cable for it in the deal. Aside from checking to make sure it was complete with the cable, the headset is unused/new, while the Logitech was used for maybe 2 weeks tops.

Let me know...
 
If anyone wants to get this party started earlier tonight and can host a game, let me know because I may have to bail early tonight since I have to go out of town tomorrow on business.

Awesome games tonight. :) Good to see so many people, too. And I think I learned that in large C&C games I should always get in DD's car because bad things tend to happen to the other one.

And sorry we missed you, ChernobylCow. I got your message in the last game, like DD, so it would have just been you watching the Cannonball Run if you joined. Hopefully you can get in on next week's game.

I think the theory I had about not being able to invite friends you've added after starting the game turned out to be wrong, and it was actually the friends-list-over-50 bug that was causing them not to appear in my phone. It figures that those guys just happened to be #51 and 52. :bomb:
