CAG Killzone 2 Game Night [Currently Inactive]

Good luck hard core clan! Giant Bomb is a pretty good team. I hope your rocket dodging technique is up to par because you'll be seeing a lot of them coming. :) wish I could spectate.

I suck now for some reason. I didnt' think not playing Killzone 2 for a week and playing Resistance 2 in it's absence would really mess me up but holy shit, I came in last in our clan battle :(
we won but i feel wrong about it..we had 2 more people than they did...
Word -- didn't realize it until ~1/2 through the match.

Did the game freeze on anyone else at the end, or was it just me?

BTW Josh, you totally cleaned house tonight. :D

And thanks to PrinceofHosts for playing with us. We definitely hope to have a rematch sometime soon. :D

I was AFK for the first mission and ineffective throughout the match, so it evens out... sorta. Except for that search and retrieve mission, where I was picking off their heads on the middle bridge.
We only had one more person than them, but someone on their team left midway through.
Ah I see. kinda lame for a clan member to bail from the game. they should boot him :p

I also wish KZ2 clan match system wasnt so lame. It would have been nice to quickly change the max players to 20 or be able to alter other things after a match is accepted. It should just send out another message to the other clan asking them to accept changes.

Glad to see the Hardcore win too. Next week I really want to put the Casual 2 against Giant Bomb (probably at 10pm EST). Eh, its tough to make an even clan battle unfortunately, even for us (we weren't able to fill all 13 slots.

Next week the casual 1 game has 16 slots, which I REALLY hope we can fill all.

Not sure yet what hardcore will do yet, but I posted at Sarcastic Gamer trying to encourage a hardcore match too.

I'm also considering while I'm at it, having Casual 2 vs. one of the CAG clans on Thursday.

Match started 11vs10 after I went to spec mode. They disconnected after the game had been going on. Sucks though I had been waiting all day for the battle, aw well.

Our MVP= AllahBomber of course. Good leadership out there!
Theirs= PufferFiz. He was doing some MAJOR damage with that rocket and did so in key times.
Best Play= goes to PufferFiz! About 4-5 cags were all facing the WRONG WAY as he came sprinting across the bridge... And laid a rocket up the person who you were meant to be protecting's nose. OUCH!
Funniest Line: "Ah crap!" = MisterB... He kept missing and saying that as he tried to kill people. Did good job helping you guys back up off the ground though.

And Karmafeed did a good job of weakening people, but you guys kept taking his kills! :)

I missed that play, but I was pretty proud of doing a similar situation myself during our defense of Search and Destroy -- when 4 opponents were rushing the west side of our base, where I got behind them, unleashed a full clip, and took them all out. *Takes a bow*

Yay for tootin' my own horn!

I blame 50% on that because I suck, and the other 50% on the gun. I hate the standard assault rifle. If only Medic had access to the SMG, Medic+SMG+Boost, I would never play anything else.

When you sent me the PSN message I was wondering if I should go spectate as well like you did. Next time, I'll take one for the team and spectate, and you can go play.

When you spectate are you able to communicate with anyone? Maybe with other spectators?

no respawn? so youre talking about a game like RSV's Survival mode. rounds would be too short. have to have respawn for this game. and you CAN make it bodycount only.

Great match tonight, kicked some ass and took some names. Shout out to my bravo squad for taking em down hard lets do it again next week.
May I be moved to the hard core clan? I finally feel ready after playing for a while. Oh, and by a while, I mean 8 hours straight today ;). Thanks.
Later in the week I will do some clan re-shuffling (like have long time pending invites revoked along with re-evaluating everyone based whether they belong where they are).
i dont think hardcore has a confirmed clan match next week. casual may tho.
Right now they don't, but I'm trying to get competition.

Part of the reason for the clan re-shuffling a little maybe is because when looking at the clan lists, I've noticed some never accepted invites, some never bothered showing up or saying anything, and for the most part (outside of HDC having people at a higher rank compared to Casual 1) there doesn't seem to big that big of a difference between the clans, which is why I'm considering just dividing into two (both will mostly compete, with a few who play more casually). But I dunno, I'm still debating (the only reason the clans were divided the way they were was because of an argument, but that's pretty much over with now). Mostly, some will be moved around (but most all will be for the better, especially if you've attended CAG nights).

Before anything happens, I'd like to ask Casual 2 "CAG3" if Tuesday or Wednesday (most likely it will happen at 9pm EST unless 10pm EST is better) is a better day to have a clan match again Casual 1 or something. I would like to get them involved in a clan match before the weekend. Although I'll be playing MotorStorm: PR and R2 on those days, I'll let the clans play (since I'm pretty sure there are plenty members who don't play either of those, and who don't play SOCOM and GTAIV). It will only be a 6 on 6 match or a 8 on 8 match.

Yeah If they add a hardcore mode would be the only way I would get back on it. It would need:

No HUD, No radar, Increased Bullet Damage, No Respawn. That would suit my needs

Think I just missed that, saw someone had killed a bunch in a row but when I glanced at screen it pushed the kills away. Sure it is in the replay on the website though.

Pretty sure I heard you say that at some point... Not sure if during the match or before but I remember you mentioning you wish you had an SMG. I think the assult rifle is used to much too. Autopistols for the medic or something is my idea.

It worked out okay, I learned I had to leave last minute anyway so I used the time watching and getting ready to go.

As for communicating, I don't know as I was the only spectator. You can't talk to anyone in the game though, but you can hear them speaking when you put the camera behind someone. Think it is only linked to the squad and proximity of their teammates just like normal so you can't hear everyone at once. But you can swap between the teams if you like. Not sure if spectators can talk to either other.

My favorite clan match moment is approx 2:35 into the S&D ISA Defending round, on the battle replay :D

Oh, the battle replay also lists 5 TKs for us..wtf
What was the score for both matches?

7-0?
6-1?
5-2?
The casual game was either 5-2 or 4-3.

I might be busy this week, so if stuff isn't done well, sorry.

I need to know if Tuesday or Wednesday is better for a small Casual 1 vs. Casual 2 clan match, 6 on 6 or 8 on 8, so I can send a request.
I might be busy this week, so if stuff isn't done well, sorry.
So how should we go about challenging other clans from here-on-out? It's unreasonable to have ManaKnight be responsible for scheduling the events for both Casual and Hardcore, as he has been doing for the past several weeks.

For the Hardcore Clan -- should we challenge other teams that seem active on the Killzone 2 ladder, set for a specific time and date every week? (IE every Wednesday at 10:00 PM EST, or something like that?)

I've got a hankering for winning more games!

10pm on wednesdays interferes with R2 nights. dont want to have to miss one game for another :(

saturdays work well. should just keep it there. weve had them on thursdays too and that was ok.

This Tuesday wouldn't be good for me since I'm working overnights. So a Wednesday match would be better for me. But it's not really that big of a deal if I can't make it since Casual 1 has alot of members. So you can do what you think is best.

Edit: Thats a lie, I'm not working that day... I really wish I could get a regular schedule at my job... but I can't really complain.

I'm going to be completely honest (50% will be sad, 15% will be happy, 35% won't care), but I MIGHT not be coordinating KZ2 nights much longer. But before I were to hand it off, I would get the clans situation more straight and probably bring us down to 2 clans.

Trust me I know. I just happened to take this job as a Seasonal thing and they kept me on(Which I was hoping would be the case). With luck I should be able to keep this one until I get a full time job.

And, it might be a nice thing for you to hand off KZ2 nights(or atleast get someone else to help out). you seem to put far too much time in it sometimes.

For the Hardcore Clan -- I think we could hold two nights of clan matches (days to be determined). It's unlikely that we can find one night where everyone can play, and it's actually disadvantageous as the game maxes out at 16 players per side. Some people can't do weeknights, others can't do weekends. My schedule is almost all over the place.

So I propose that we challenge two clans a week with 10-12 slots open for players. I don't think getting that many CAGers is an unreasonable goal (we managed to get 12 this Saturday), and it gives a pretty good chance for people to play competitively who want to.

And personally, I'd rather play a bunch of matches and earn a 50% win/loss ratio than play far fewer games.

Post what you think, and hopefully the Hardcore Officers will be able to take in everyone's feedback. I think using Google Docs may be a good tool (look it up if you don't know what they are).

I just made a clan message earlier today, based on ideas Karmafeed and I came up with, that are very similar to this. Should we clog up this thread with people posting times? If were sharing a spreadsheet, then wouldnt PMs or PSN messages be easier to deal with?

You betcha -- either I missed that discussion you had w/ Karmafeed, or you two are keeping secrets from us! (I sense a coup?!)

PSN would work best, as this thread would definitely get cloged with lost posts, and I doubt many of us check our clan messages within KZ2.

I'll discuss this with you, Karma, and Stark via PM for now.

You've done such a great job that you should get an award for it  It does seem so time consuming though.

Only reason I think this is because of clan balance (easier to deal with just two clans. If we make one clan too casual, it might never win a game and have too many not show up (and if one clan was too hardcore, might have too many want to show up for a clan battle). That's why currently I kind of want to find a perfect balance, putting together two awesome clans and stick to that.

Basically, there needs to be some re-organization, yet I'm loaded with stuff to do right now (which I rather not discuss). Really stressing me out trying to figure out the best way of fixing it. I'll send a PM about it to some of ya'll sometime on ways we can do this.

A complete overhaul will not start until next week.

Totally agree with you TMK -- but for now, until things on your end settle down (or the officers in the Casual Clans can help you), I don't want to make you feel obligated to get this all organized ASAP. Focus first and foremost on your top priorities at hand, and ask some of the Casual Clan officers to step up with organizing (if possible) during your temporary absence.

so on a side note, I just saw the first major glitch in this game....

a buddy of mine was playing and somehow some1 on the other team invited him to his squad and was his squad leader. So he could respawn behind the other team in there base for the entire round and just destroy them in the back it was hilarious.
