You'll need to find a sub. No CPU games unless it's the absolute last minute. You don't need to ask to play the CPU on the first day.

Oh, the irony. 2nd quarter of the first game of the season...90 OVR DE R. Edwards out for the season as I just trade away my only good backup.

Good game campbell, you played very well. I am nervous to think what you could do with Peterson after watching you run all over my D today. Great sim type game and what looks to be a great addition to our league.

Edit - Damn, looks like I get that chance next week. I look forward to the rematch.

My schedule is hella tough. Rematch with Campbell against his actual team and a much better RB to compliment his game, then I play the defending champs (who owns me), Blade, Worm and then Doc. Ugh. I could easily be 1-4 after the first five games.

No worries there. You can definitely play. Subbing early on like you are will help you a lot too, as you get used to seeing other players and their tendencies.

This game was much closer than the score indicates. If just a couple of turnovers would have gone the other way this game could have been very different.
Wow! What a tremendous effort by my Titans! Not only did my run game work, but now with Eli at Passing, it was very difficult to stop. My defense got every stop it needed.

Great game Campbell! It's going to be scary playing you in the future when you're using your own team.

raider loss in a heart breaker in new england.
27-30 pats
with 28 seconds left in the game raiders down 27-20. jason cambell throws the ball deep into the hands of louis murphy in the endzone TD raiders game tied looking like its going to be gonig to overtime at 27-27. but with 22 seconds left and the ball in bradys hands anything can happen and well it did happen. brady throw the ball 3 times for 2 completions and thats all he needed to get his guys in field goal range. the kicks up and barely makes in above the bottom part of the goal post with the last second of time going off the clock.
this game was defense defense defense
with the raiders defense causing 2 forced with fumbles 4 ints and 2 sacks
and the pats defense having 1 forced fumble 2 ints and 6 sacks
this was a game the pats had in there back pocket it seemed all game and the pats had a huge lead all game but slowly the raiders came back and finally tied it up just for brady to turn on is kill switch with 22 seconds left.
one of the funniest games ive ever played in my life so much fun so exciting sucks to be on the losing side of it but someone has to lose right.

Nate, I just wanted to thank you for all the work you have done for this franchise. It would not have been started, nor be still running without all your work. Although people here have had our differences with you, you have put a lot into this and we thank you.
 
Blade3D just asked and maybe he's still, but if not anyone want to fill in as the Cardinals against me? I'll be around for a little while now to play, if not it'll probably have to be in the evening sometime.

Thanks. I really appreciate that. I'm far from perfect, and being in charge of a league always puts you at odds with somebody. It also doesn't help that I have a big mouth and unpopular opinions don't bother me, lol. In some ways, I start to question how different this league really is from the official one. I guess we don't have "quite as good" of players, but for the most part, I feel like we deal with a lot of the same stuff. I at least hope that the people here who have invested a lot of time have enjoyed it, and I appreciate the work you guys did to get us through one season. A lot of CAG leagues don't even get that far.

Also, sorry for the screw up with the draft timer, but EA couldn't make it any more awkward. I was on the website when I started the draft, and I full anticipated having an option to set the time limit after clicking "start draft" (as this was the only option available). I guess expecting something logical out of EA was my first mistake. It just took off with a default 15 second timer, and the first two picks rocketed by before I got it under control (though I swear I clicked "pause draft" with :09 left on LV's pick.

Finally, what I learned is that you can only set the timer in the game...by doing the exact same thing I expected from the website. When you unpause the draft, an option pops up to set the timer. After picking the time, it tells you that it will go into effect at the start of the next round (this is also why I had to pause twice at near the end of the 3rd and 4th rounds...I think I did it on lyric's pick and pitfall's pick). Since everything then had to be managed in game, it made keeping up with the traded picks kinda tough since I had to bounce back and forth between that and CAG (in hindsight, I probably should have just printed the list). But anyway, we got through it. A few people made it more difficult than it needed to be...but I appreciate all the ones who did try to help out. Once we adapted, I felt like it went really well.

Anyway, again, I appreciate the kind words. It'll make the beatings I receive this season sting a little less, lol. ;)

Hey guys, just an update. I'm hoping we'll have the Internet at the new house tomorrow, but since there's potential pitfalls (get it? :D) whenever setting up Internet at a new place for the first time, I'd feel better about having to get someone to be a backup for Denver against the Bills in case I can't play.

Bottom line is mistakes happen and I watched you rectify the best you could on a shitty situation! Kudos N8 keep it up man! Though we may not agree sometines I think you are doing a great job as I've stated prior and you are keeping it going it seems single handedly sometimes!

We agreed to the trade before the injury and I feel it is right to move forward with it. I will have to see if I can make another trade to compensate.

So with that being said..

Looking for a decent DE. Doesn't need to be a superstar (though will consider top players), but does need to be an upgrade over what I have now.

What do you have now? I got Vanden Bosch OVR 78 POT B, I think he is 33 or so. I would be interested in that backup Center you have, I think he is rated around 76 or so.
 
Packers start the defense of their championship with a 41-3 victory over Detroit. GG, Blade. As you said, nothing went your way.

My rookie RB Green that I picked in the 2nd round did pretty well, and I believe he may get the start over Grant next week.

This is the kind of game that makes me want to quit...nothing went right. I had 2 fumbles within the 5 that were taken for TDs, one cause I was trying to kneel and my dude ran out of the endzone which led to me starting on the 1 or something.

I was trying some new things and some definitely didn't work out for me, haha. I thought I was screwed after you tossed that late touchdown pass. I didn't want to go into over time with you having that kind of momentum.

Surprisingly, a C. Everything else is correct though. Looks like the age difference is well set off with the POT and OVR difference. If you want to go through with it, just post here and confirm.

I have had that shit happen with the kickoff return one time and it fucked me over too. Damn, what a terrible way to start the year. Just one game though, you'll be fine.

Sorry you missed. The date was posted in the thread title for several days. Now that we've moved on, pretty much all evidence of the draft has been removed from the EA site and the game itself. Not much I can tell you.

I don't really see how he could "fix" his roster. He forgot about the draft. Que sera. Since the game drops his worst players, I doubt the ones it drafted were any worse. Unless he wants to cross compare this roster to an offline one, I'm not sure how he could tell which players were his. He also had how many days to cut players in advance? He might just have to live with it. Lesson: set up a draft board or don't miss the draft.

I really have no idea how this could be "handled". He doesn't even know what players were drafted, lol. You could maybe persuade him to give you a pick in the next draft, but I don't even know if that's fair. I thought this was resolved before we moved on. Since we have no way of reviewing drafted players now, I don't know what to tell you.
 
Wasn't resolved. You never told me what I could pick up? A few options were thrown out there. I don't really want to deal with draft pics for next season, especially from him. No disrespect meant Tana but I got screwed out of a high round draft pic because you forgot so you, at this point, got a free player from me.

Would it be ok to take a FA to make up for the missed pick? All the FA out there aren't to good and would have probAbly gone either in the 3rd or later in most cases.

Also the Bears owner had to drop, his shift changed at work so it will be hard for him to make deadlines an he didn't want to slow down the league. So if it's ok I can take over the Bears as my secondary as Campbell took the Vikings who were my secondary?
