This works for me! Thanks for stepping up and taking those teams, guys. I'm glad people are warming up to the idea of secondary teams. I know it was kinda like "Whaaaa???" at first, but it makes things feel a little more organized even though we don't have 32 members.

Yea, I thought it was only right to take a secondary team, it just makes everything so much easier if everyone has one and I'm glad to be back playing in the AFC West regularly.
 
LV - on my phone, so haven't seen it yet. I am fine with staticz subbing. Already have a game scheduled for the other league, so I should be good for my madden fix. I was so amped to play Sunday, that when it didn't work for us, I played a random dude..and quickly remembered why I stopped doing that. :(

Hahaha, I hear you. I played a ranked match yesterday and after my first offensive drive he is screaming into the microphone, talking all this shit, and even kept messaging me after the game. Talking all this smack about Mike Vick (I was playing with the Eagles at the time).

Who in the world has the time do stuff like that?
 
Just a bunch of ignorant losers that have no interest in playing anything that resembles actual football. What you experienced is why I don't even play with a mic (that and my son keeps breaking mine).

You misunderstood me. I had no mic plugged in, I was not talking. I ran down the field with Vick and my speakers explode with this guy talking.

It's actually pretty stupid that you can hear your opponent through the tv speakers if you don't have your mic plugged in. But I usually just plug the mic in and mute it at that point.

Haven't heard any word on either of these, and to be honest, all 3 members involved here seem to have been slacking lately. Just a friendly reminder, the "3 absences and no playoffs" policy is in effect this season. I was just thinking about it, and rather than calling it "3 sims", I think 3 absences is more reasonable.

For instance, if one of the Seahawks/Panthers owners has to ask for a sub because their opponent is MIA, and then they lose to that sub, it's not really fair that the original owner would get a free ride to the playoffs thanks to other people filling in (if neither of them takes the time to post in the thread or ask for a sub, they both get a strike though).

Obviously, arranged subs don't count toward this (and neither do secondary team subs), as in if you're going to be away and you let us know, it's fine. But I don't have the patience to deal with people just not showing up this season. As Yanksfan astutely noted in the official league thread "we're all busy". Hopefully, the games get played though and this won't even be an issue.

I don't think I have been slacking I was posting in the thread on monday that we were trying to work something out then he gave me the ok to play a sub now if he can play someone today he can play a sub because I can't play again until 11pm cst

Sorry. I must have missed all posts from Monday. I guess I was just surprised no attempt was made yesterday. But point taken (both from you and LV). Everybody's a big boy and knows the rules. You guys don't need to be harped on and the deadlines are clear. Just letting everybody know from here on out they'll be enforced strictly.
 
Alright. I would like to purpose that our weeks are three days long. Now, before you scream at me, let me explain. I understand that some have trouble meeting the deadline, but most don't. I think that if someone was having trouble getting a sub/contacting his opponent. He could ask for an extension. I just hate the idea of waiting around for games that will most likely be subbed. The whole process slows the league so much.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think?
Pitfall, are you around tomorrow for the (TENvJAC) game? I am around most of the day.

While I appreciate the sentiment, I just don't think I could enforce a 3 day turnaround with most people being responsible for 2 teams (not to mention people who are in both leagues). Doing this would basically open us up to having A LOT of games simmed...which I think would really turn people off. I don't even really think I could keep up with it.

As I've said many times though, we always have the option of advancing in 3 days...it just takes people wanting to make it happen. Get the games played and we'll advance. It's that simple. Superstar is right though about this first week feeling longer because of the draft. I didn't count the night of the draft as a day (even though some games were played that night). Hopefully the weeks will feel quicker as we get going again.

In regards to the Seattle vs Carolina game being played tonight, I guess I'll be advancing the league early tomorrow morning then (probably around 5 AM CST) when I get up to feed my daughter. I'm exhausted, and will be in bed by the time that game finishes. Shouldn't make much difference though, advancing at 5 AM as opposed to midnight. The Week 2 deadline will still be 2/26.
 
I can see both sides, but as mentioned, it could be difficult sometimes with 2 games each. I think 4 days is currently working and hopefully it won't contribute to anyone getting so bored that they quit the league.
