Seriously, fuck this game. You can call the same three plays on offense and the opponent's defense is as confused by it as if they're looking at an M.C. Escher painting. That's why MLB field coverage when user controlled is so broken, because literally every other person on defense will not figure anything out. It's the only way to balance out EA's goldfish-esque AI programming.

Also, fuck the MOTHERfuckING broken collarbone. Champ is already out with that shit, now Von Miller is out. So fucking annoyed. Obviously.

Chiefs come up with another victory, beating Chicago by 7. Eric Berry came up big with INTs, 4 tackles, a TD, and 2 delflections.

4 TOs by the Bears allowed the Chiefs to win even though my offense played poorly. GG DVO.

he PMed me, said that he got caught up in a hockey game this weekend. He asked me about playing tonight and I told him I possibly could but finding a sub may be the best way to go.

And he hasn't posted in the thread about it at all... Not really loving that since we don't really know if we're even waiting on anything. Matt's usually pretty good about getting his games done, but I don't really like not knowing if there's even anything planned. Hopefully he gets it played today and we're not just waiting for nothing.

6 EST doesn't make a whole lot of sense since he's in CA. Maybe 9 EST, I'd give you, because Matt doesn't usually play games late. But I'd rather give him the benefit of the doubt, and then just give him a strike if it turns out we wasted our time. As I said, he usually gets his games played. It's only fair to give him till the deadline.

I will say though, I plan on going to bed early tonight (most likely by 12 AM EST). So, I'd like to advance the league before then. If I haven't at least heard anything about the game by then, I'll plan on advancing.
 
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still around. After much consideration, I have decided to stay with the league. I was so close to shipping madden off to amazon.

Also, I will not fight Tanabeo anymore about running the score up on me. It's his play style, and I have no right to attack that. So I am sorry for attacking you.

I wanted to note that I think my biggest flaw in this league was trying too hard to compete. I am going to tone it back, and try to have fun.

So good luck to the league! Also, I am around almost all day tomorrow to play whoever I am playing.


Edit: BTW, who sent me a PM today, explaining why I was wrong about M. Jenkins in an old trade I disapproved.

All right, well this actually needs to be cleared up because these are two wildly conflicting statements. My brain cannot even process the idea of someone running a hurry up offense in the 4th quarter up by 21 points. This is a pretty serious accusation as it would be inexcusable. What really happened here?

I have no problem with this. I took it wrong at the time, but I have no problem with it now.

Sorry. I PM'ed him back saying I could play at 9 P.M. Eastern like he asked, and I was waiting for his reply to that before requesting a sub. I guess that was the wrong approach, and I apologize. I am available to play pretty much anytime today.

I respect that you don't want to get into it again, but for the sake of the league, that kind of stuff shouldn't be happening. I'd like to get Tanabeo's side of the story before I address it though. It's going to be hard to defend running a hurry up offense up 21 points in the 4th quarter though.

Jesus, communication in this thread is horrible, lol. His post said YOU asked him about playing tonight...and he told you possibly, but it was cool if you found a sub (since it's his secondary team). Your post said HE asked you to play at 9 PM EST,,,and you confirmed that you could. With less than 24 hours to the deadline, if you're playing a secondary team, you just need to find somebody to play.
 
What happened was that I asked if he could play sometime today in general, and then he said if he could, it would be around 9 Eastern. I was trying to make sure he could play if possible; didn't know it was a secondary game for him. I understand I made the mistake here. So shall I play a sub or let this get simmed?

Yeah, sorry. I had a post typed up last night saying that we advanced and answering questions, but my daughter started getting fussy and I haven't touched my computer since. Yes, we have advanced to Week 5, and yes we will be doing a round of free agency this week. I'll be posting the groups soon and the first group of selections will start at 5 PM EST.

For those who weren't with us last season (or haven't played in the other league), free agent pick ups will be done in groups. When it is your group's turn, you can pick up any available free agent (as long as they're not in free agency due to a trade), but you have to drop a player from your team. You can drop any player though. They don't have to be the same position. You also don't HAVE to sign a free agent. If you're good with who you have, don't worry about it. But this will be your only chance this season to grab a free agent. After we have advanced to Week 6, free agency will close.

Free agent pick ups should be posted in this format.

Team: Name
Player Added: Name, Position
Player Dropped: Name, Position

As for Blade's suggestion for trading up in the draft, I've seen how the other league does it, and it ONLY applies to when two teams are swapping 1st round picks (ie. trading a pick for a player still counts the pick as a core player). I'd be fine with this, but bear in mind all it really does is complicate the draft/trade cap even more. The more complicated things get, the more open we are for mistakes.

Eh, I am just seeing how much swapping a 1 round pick for lower picks isn't really worth it as it takes away from core players which would be better used in player trade. I think it's fair when having 3 core players trade cap, it takes a little pressure of if you want to trade your 1st round for another pick/s.

Yeah, but you could make that same argument for trading a 1st round pick for multiple players. What makes it worth it is that you're getting multiple pieces in return. And if it's not worth it, don't do the trade. Furthermore, it just forces you to be more creative. DVO was able to swap his picks around and make quite a few big trades under the present cap. I think it's fine how it is.

Pretty sure we've been doing it based on depth chart. I think that's how the Jordan Shipley (and possibly Mike Jenkins) trade was doable for DVO.

Yeah, honestly, it's pretty stupid that EA can't keep their numbers straight to begin with. I think the claim was thet the depth chart was more accurate, but I'm pretty sure all the individual stats are the same...they just somehow managed to calculate the overall differently. Maybe one year, EA will actually come up with their own system for a trade cap in online franchise. Ha...who am I kidding? They'd botch that too, lol.
