Haha, seriously! My wife made me go see Hunger Games yesterday, and I cannot process how this series is not seen as glorifying kids killing kids. Yes, they're "forced" to do it, but when it's made into such a spectacle, and some of them enjoy it, it starts to get a little sick. "Oh, that 18 year old boy just stabbed a 12 year old girl! Awesome!!!"

Maybe you can argue it has a "Lord of the Flies" kind of tone, but I just...I don't know. I don't get it. If you take the kids out of it, it's no different than Gamer or Death Race or any other movie where a "bat shit crazy" government/company forces human beings to kill for their freedom. But I'd rather see that story involve prisoners than 12 year old kids. To me, it's just fucked up.

Oh, and yeah, grab a FA HB until AP comes back.

I really enjoyed Battle Royale (book, haven't seen the movie) which has the same concept. Extremely engaging, well written and a very powerful look at how human behavior can devolve when faced with similar survival situations.

Hunger Games never interested me as it seemed to be more plied towards the Harry Potter crowd (not judging, just what I was not looking for) than anything. Probably not a fair assessment on my part, but one I made nonetheless.

Yeah, I don't understand this. You should have PM'd me as the Dolphins are my secondary team. I MIGHT be able to play it at around 11:15 PM CST if you want.

oh sorry about that for some reason I thought it was a team with no specific owner. I could possibly do that if not I dont mind taking my first strike since I kinda dropped the ball on it....

I wanted to address this issue. I went back through 30 pages of this thread, and the only thing I found from billy concerning the Cardinals was when he was supposed to play the Seahawks and missed the game. He posted this.

I really wasn't sure what this meant because the games are always "as needed". But if that's what he's telling people who contact him to play, then I'll change them to *OPEN* in the OP. Just wanted to explain why they were still listed as his.
 
Can't believe I finally got a PotW award in a losing effort. Must have been a slow week defensively, because those numbers seem rather pedestrian.

Good game docb9110. This though was a mess of a game. I started off okay defensively, but when I picked one off in the first quarter and then fumbled it right back to doc I knew this game was going to be trouble. I also had a pass picked off where McCoy threw it a good five yards away from my receiver. After that I threw a bunch of picks that were my fault so I was down 31-14 at halftime. I managed to score on the first drive, but couldn't capitalize on my second attempt (I think), but my defense held strong and 24 second half points gave me the win.
