I should be up and running on Live by Sunday night, but I'll probably be mentally functional (I've been in England for 3 months, holy jetlag!) by Monday afternoon and I should be up and running on live by then.
I can't wait to play Madden, I'll probably be absolutey dreadful for the first few games (haven't played since September), who is the Vikings week 3 opponent?

I wouldn't mind pushing the deadline back to Monday night for a former commissioner if you think you'll be able to play by then. :D

And I promise that's the commish speaking, not the owner of the Bears. ;)
 
I've started the process to get the league up on the XFN site we're using for the other league. I'll let you guys know when it's up and running.
 
No worries about extending the deadline, I can't 100% guarantee being ready by Monday night in case things don't work out.
And is Madden on crack? How the hell did it simulate an 84-70 victory?
 
Just finished up a very good game with Seattle.

The game went back and forth pretty much throughout. I managed to tie the game up with about 55 seconds left. After an extremely quick 3 and out forced a punt and gave me the ball back, Kyle Orton managed to hit Demaryius Thomas for a 73 yard touchdown pass that ended up winning the game for the Broncos. It was the conclusion to a beastly day for Thomas: 6 catches, 202 yards, 2 TDs.

I'm still trying to figure out this team a bit on defense. Trying desperately right now to resist the urge to go back to my comfort zone of the 4-3.

Unfortunately I lost Knowshown Moreno for 11 weeks to a....broken collarbone. Shocking, I know.

That sucks. Normally you could pick up another guy for depth, but you already have 3 other backs on your team. Laurence Maroney era! :lol:

I think it's actually going to be the Correll Buckhalter era for now. I'm fine with my RB depth for the moment.

Any chance I could drop my FB and pick up a new one? I'm not one to complain about my players too frequently, but my one and only fullback is rated 50. That's just absurd. Looking through the XFN site, I think there are only like 3-4 players in the entire game that are rated lower than him. I don't know the Broncos too well, but I'm guessing the only reason he's even on the in-game roster is because Madden requires each team to have a FB.
 
While he certainly sucks, can't just let you pick someone up. We're going to do a Free Agent period in Week 3 I think though, so you can target a FB then.

Man I already gave up on San Francisco's defensive playbook. That thing is ridiculous...it's 90% blitz plays, no exaggeration. I'm pretty conservative on defense and rarely run blitzes, so that playbook is a nightmare for me.

Lol wow...judging from his specific attributes, my guess would be he was a linebacker-turned-fullback. They probably took him from linebacker and just slapped the fullback tag on him because, as you said, Madden requires a fullback on each team.

He's listed as a linebacker/fullback on both Wikipedia and the Broncos site. I'll have to see if his OVR is any good as an LB.

Edit: Can't even try him at LB on my depth chart.

I'm suppose to play the cheese guy...it says he's been on madden pretty much all night, but I sent him a message to ask if he could play and nothing in about 2 and a half hours...

Was this posted after leaving the bar? LOL. I don't know what it is, but the few posts of yours that I have seen have made me chuckle.

This may have been mentioned somewhere other than the thread, but ubernes and I are playing sometime tomorrow after he gets back.
 
I hate Madden. Cowboys and I have disconnected twice in the 4th quarter. The first time in a tie game, but this most recent time I was up 24-7 and had just gotten the ball back after a missed field goal. I'm really not in the mood to play this game again and get disconnected again.

Well that was the worst ass whipping I have ever received...ever. Yeah I got desperate there at the end and just hoped for some kind of miracle. Instead I rewarded the other team. Damn good defensive player, if you fall behind early it's tough to get it going.

But get a little bit of class in your play. You already schooled my lowly Bucs. No need to try and run up the score there at the end.

Fun Fact-I lost to 83 yards of total offense by the Panthers.
 
No one should be running up the score, or trying to, ever. Such behavior won't be looked on kindly, that goes for everyone. I'm not going to hand out punishment or anything for it, but if something else comes up I'm going to remember who has a reputation for rubbing it in. That's all I'll say on that.

Lol well aside from last week's game...the "other" Chris Gamble has had 4 interceptions through basically 2 full seasons. Don't get me wrong...he's a solid shutdown corner, he just tends to drop so many interceptions for me...despite a 73 catching rating.

And Doom, since you mention he's a solid defensive player...I'm curious, which player (or position) does he usually control on defense? Just wondering...since we've been talking lately about who controls what position on defense and how relative it is to your skill level.

Good to see the Panthers are indeed that good, and I didn't get that trouncing week 1 for no reason. Eek.

Quick blurb, beat the Colts 10-6 in a hard-fought defensive game. Not a lot of turnovers (any?), just good D on both sides. Glad to be 1-1, 0-2 would have been tough.
 
The panthers came out to make a statement by beating the young bucs to the score of 31-3 the panthers defense was on point and they were lead by Chris Gamble who had 4 interceptions and I believe two was returned for touchdowns.....PANTHERS 16-0!!!????

GO PANTHERS!!!!!

Yeah, the games I played with Kayholiday were disconnected pretty far in; I believe the last two dropped in the 4th and one dropped in the third. I was playing really well defensively for a change, and every game was close. That last game aside, I was stopping him most times on offense, and a lot of his points came from me turning it over. But hey, we all keep coming back for our fix...
 
Well the 31 I am held accountable for. (21 by pick sixes) But he was eager to score another touchdown. Luckily held him on the one as time ran out. I'm not mad, but other people in this league don't appreciate that type of play.

No one appreciates that type of play. augmog, I know you're still pretty new so it's not a big deal yet, but don't do that. Everyone in the league knows you're a good player, you've definitely proved that in both leagues. But trying to score an extra TD to pad your stats, or embarrass someone, or for whatever reason just isn't cool.

He was perfect with his strong safety and free safety play. Depending on what play I picked he would switch it up between the two. He played man the whole game. Whenever I threw to one guy, he would perfectly jump the route with whatever defensive player was there. Only way to beat him is to run the ball and since I was down early(and things got crazy), I was just out of my element. I hate throwing the ball and the stats showed lol.

Good plan. It's always a problem in online sports games, as we all know. There must be some better solution than attempting the same game 4 times. Then again, I can't even pretend to understand why EA's servers work the way they do.

That's also partially the result of having shitty receivers who can't create space, haha. ;)
 
hey doom i didnt try to run up the score I ran the ball every play on offense and the only time I really decided to pass the ball that was at the start of the 3rd...... Lets talk on how you tried to go for it on 4th and 2 on my 30 and you ran the sweep left and didnt get it but kicked the field goal when down by 21...... I didnt run up the score I handed the ball off every play and punted on 4th down every time your mad I had 6 user picks and 4 of them or something like that went for touchdowns..... I'll give you some coaching tips when down like you was in the 4th with less than a min left dont go for it on 4th down. punt it and you was trowing the ball and i was picking you off so how is that running up the score smh
 
He said you were trying to score on the last play and he stopped you at the 1. I certainly believe that it was a running play, in fact I'm sure they all were. In this league we take a knee, now you know for next time.

FYI, you're not going to make a lot of hay criticizing Doom, he's one of the most respected players in the league and has been nothing but fair in all the games I've played him (which is more than anyone else in the league).

What's wrong with that? I was trying to get on the board for my morale. I didn't want to get shut out. I went for it on 4th and 2 because I didn't know the range of my kicker and it was in the gray area.

Teams that are down by multiple scores go for it on 4th down. It's part of the game. But when you're up by 28 and are still eagerly trying to score, then yeah there's the problem. I'm not mad about it. You played a fair game, I was just bringing up that point at the end there.

I'm used to people running up the score in ranked games, so I didn't have a problem, but I knew others would so I brought it up.
