CAG Madden 11 League 2 - Season 2! Week 10 Deadline Sat night. TEAMS OPEN!
2 "permanent substitutions".....2 absolutely laughable embarassing losses.

Boy this is fun.
This complaint would carry a little more weight if you hadn't also volunteered to be one of those "permanent substitutions". ;)

I'm trying to sort out the situation here since the modem and computer are in one room and the TV is in another. No wireless and no ethernet cable that's long enough to reach.
What does SUB mean on the first post? Does it mean they are open?
Essentially. It means one of our regulars is filling in until we find an owner.

Also..

For Sale: Jay Cutler
Price: One (1) bag of footballs (new optional)

After throwing two of the most horrendous picks I've ever seen (MA can corroborate, we're talking overthrowing wide open guys by 20+ yards) I benched Cutler in favor of Caleb Hanie who played infinitely better and almost brought the Bears all the way back. I made the mistake of putting Cutler back in when it got within a score, but of course he couldn't convert.

49ers 30 - Bears 22 in a game which featured approximately one gazillion turnovers.

Patrick Willis is out for 6 weeks - you're welcome NFC West.

Alright Doom did you get in touch with your opponent yet? If not...I'll boot him at like 8 p.m. EST if you can get your game in after that. Feel free to play the CPU or find someone to sub if you want. Other people if you haven't been able to get in touch with your opponent, let me know so I can temp-boot.

P.S. Patrick Willis out 6 weeks!!!!

Ya Cutler is pretty bad...but Alex Smith is right there with him lol. You probably wouldn't think so...but on at least 2 occasions that game, he overthrew a wide open receiver but another receiver in the area luckily caught the ball instead.

Okay, and by the way...I have a huge midterm tomorrow so that's why I've been so busy lately, so after tomorrow I's finna have so much free time!!! I will become the commissioner you all have always dreamed of having.

Cutler almost NEVER missed that throw last season, I have no idea what happened. They were very similar plays with receivers running a deep (and wide open) route over the middle and I hit A as hard as I could (which usually is a bullet pass) but he still sailed it like he was shooting skeet or something, and Heap/Hester were nowhere near it when it fell right into the lap of the defender.

I don't know how much of my comeback was Hanie and how much was switching to the "fuck this, let's see you cover Devin Hester" strategy, but I did try some new plays which worked pretty well so it wasn't a total loss.

Plus, I didn't lose Urlacher (who was a beast in that one) for 6 weeks.

Chargers/Patriots: The Patriots guy had no internet for a couple days and wasn't back online till yesterday, so we couldn't play any time before I left on my trip yesterday. He sent me a PM yesterday afternoon. I just read it a couple hours ago when I was able to get online in Mississippi for the first time. Unless something isn't compatible, I should be able to get what I need to connect the Xbox to the modem in an hour or two, but I know the deadline is in 20 minutes or so, and I don't expect anyone to wait on me.

Just noticed I lost Talib for the whole season. Going to be a long season. As for my game. We were supposed to play but he's been away for 10 minutes. Hope he comes back soon

Shopping around for some WR's. Willing to trade anyone within reason. Prefer to unload either a linebacker or half back to see what I can get for receivers. Game screwed me on auto drafting, and didnt pickup a receiver until way too late.
We don't advance until 10 ESt. we still have 2 hours to get this game in Matt, I'm available whenever.
I'm sorry... I'm an idiot. I'm used to adding 3 hours to the current time to get Eastern time, forgetting that I am now in the Central time zone for the next couple weeks. Should be no problem then. I will send you a message as soon as I get things sorted out. Thanks for correcting my mistake.
Ill join as the packers if possible

I think the policy for situations where new players want a sub team is I'll let the sub decide whether they want to make that their permanent team or not before I give them away.

So Appleinthetree.. Packers or Texans?

I might be willing to move Reggie Wayne, though it would take a pretty good offer to get him.

The Cowboys need a good RE. PM me an offer - though there are a lot of players I am unwilling to move. I will listen to all offers :p

Alright I think the Chargers/Patriots game is being played right now (in the 2nd quarter), so I'll just advance after that...if the Giants or Bengals (Lexxon or Cru) want to hurry up and play the CPU, I can wait for that too...but if I don't hear from either of you about that when Chargers/Patriots game finishes up, then I'm just gonna sim them.

The only player vs. player game not accounted for is the Titans and Browns, and I don't believe we've heard anything from them in here, so that shiz is gonna get SIMMED.

Alright guys we're advanced...

Titans over Browns
Dolphins over Giants
Bengals over Seahawks
Steelers over Cardinals (in case anyone cared about that one...)

I will set the new deadline for Wednesday night...good luck friends.

Trade for League Review:

Bears get:
Mike Jenkins - CB - 87 (26)
Gerald Sensabaugh - SS -78 (28)
Stephen Bowen - RE - 68 (27)

Cowboys get:
Julius Peppers - RE - 90 (31)
Tim Jennings - CB -72 (27)
Craig Steltz - SS - 73 (25)

The crux of the trade is basically Jenkins for Peppers, with the other guys added in to offset the depth at various positions, none of those other guys are starters.

Peppers is an A, the other two Bears are C.

Superstar will have to confirm, but I believe Jenkins is an A, Sensabaugh is a B, and I'm assuming Bowen is a C or D.

It'll take until tonight for the Packers to open up.

If you want to take my sub team instead, the Steelers, they're open right now. Not sure I'll have as much time since I'm subbing for the Bills in the other league.

Sorry about the lack of communication...was a busy weekend and while I never heard from Miami, I also never tried to contact him. I suppose my punishment is the loss >.
Ya sorry I'll be home in an hour or two then I'll put it through.....way to stack that secondary!!
Yeah, it's gonna be pretty good, though I'm definitely giving up a lot on run defense losing Peppers.

And that Peppers/Ware combo rushing the blind side in Dallas is gonna be deadly.

Let me know when you put it through, I'm holding my game for that.
Whoever can invite me in as the Pack, let me know
He said he was going to drop them tonight, you can join up after that.

MA can invite you or send you the league info.
I picked up the Pack, anyone wants to trade let me know
Make sure you review all the rules, etc in the OP. Thanks!

Chargers/Pats was a hell of a back and forth game Sunday night. Incredible plays on both sides. There's no way to call a timeout after choosing to kick a field goal, eh? I had to let the clock run down. Luckily, I won the coin toss in OT and was able to win 24-21, but that game easily could have gone the other way.

RE: Chargers/Redskins

Playing itlnstln in both leagues this week. We didn't even get to attempt our game for this league tonight. Full explanation is in the thread for the other league; no need to clutter this thread by repeating the same post. Problem is 100% on my end with shitty Mississippi internet. I'm going to do what I can to get it working, assuming there is anything I can do.
looks like the texans dnt have a owner what do i do??
They do have an owner, he was just temporarily in as the Packers.

Check the OP for his info.
