CAG Madden 11 League 2 - Season 2! Week 10 Deadline Sat night. TEAMS OPEN!
How about 12:30PM EST or so? Please let me know if that's good so I make sure I'm on.
I just saw this...and I just woke up. I'm hopping on now

Panthers 17 - Bears 14

This one lived up to the hype as a defensive battle, it probably didn't help matters that it was played into a driving rain and wind. There were three different occasions where long field goals were passed up in 4th and short situations (twice by me, once by mog), none of which were converted. That included the last time I had possession, but I really don't regret it, since I'm not sure a 50 yarder in rain and straight into the teeth of 15 mph winds is makeable. If I had it to do over again I still wouldn't have kicked it either time, though I might have changed my playcalling on 4th down.

Cutler was his typical Cutlerian self, throwing three picks, although against probably the best user pick guy in the league I'm not too broken up about it. The Bears D did what they do, which is force fumbles, recovering three. Allowing only one offensive touchdown (the other TD came on a KR) was a very good day for my D, and they were put into some tough situations.

Not upset at all about this loss, just a great game against a good opponent.

On a related note, GO JETS! I don't want Azu running away with this division.

Three games left:

Falcons-Browns
Titans-Cowboys
Vikings-Jets
i got 23 people at the house for X-Mas so wont be able to play till late tonight
I'm subbing for the falcons. The only time I can't play tonight is 7-10pm est.

Well gregthomas and I can't seem to connect. I have a feeling its on my end since it usually is, but I did an Xbox Live test and there was no problem there so I don't know what the issue is.
We both discussed and it seems that simming is the most fair option since we can't place which end the problem is on and we've both tried to play on two different occasions.

Yeah, I ran an Xbox live test as well, and I have no idea what is going on. Really would have liked to have played this game.

Alright, I'll sim it when we advance.
Just picked up Al Afalava from free agency. Needed to add depth to cover the loss of Ed Reed for basically the season.
KKKKkkkrrrr ... That's a negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full ... KKKKkkkkrrrr.

What is wrong with that? I thought the ruule was you could fill in for injured players?

Well losing a player isn't the only criterion for being allowed to pick up a free agent at that position. You're technically only allowed to pick up a FA if that injury results in a severe lack of depth at that position. You still have 2 healthy Free Safeties available so I don't think you would qualify, but it's up to BV. I'd say if another one of your FS gets injured then you can pick another one up for depth, but there really isn't any need for you to pick up a third FS for your team. Two healthy ones are plenty.

Thank you, Sheriff.

Sheriff is right. As long as you have two healthy FS, you're not able to pick up another one. No harm no foul, just drop him again.

Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!
I'd like to hear what's going on with the Browns-Falcons and Titans-Cowboys, but I'd ideally like to advance no later than 8PM est.
For Cowboys\Titans : PM'd Kay Holiday and he said text him when I am ready. I texted him this morning and he said he should be home after 5pm and I said I can play up until the cowboys game tonight. I waited until the game started and didn't hear a word from him. Kind of lost on where to go from here.

If you have his number, can't you just text him again asking him what's up? It shouldn't be very hard to get your game in if you guys can just text each other.

I tried - I am assuming because it's Christmas.

Sounds good, go for it.
any open teams available for me to jump in on? If not can I get on the wait list?
There aren't any right now, but I'll put you on the waiting list.

Sorry I don't think I'll be able to make it...we're going to my aunt's house around 7:00 p.m. EST for a get-together (we do it basically every week), and they usually go til about midnight...so I don't think I'm even going to be able to make the draft in the other league unless I do it through the computer.

The graveyards of our Madden leagues are filled with teams that put up gaudy offensive numbers but can never break through in the win column. :D

Having the second to last defense in the league certainly isn't helping you. ;)

Record, SOS, and PA/PF are the three major factors. You can be the first recipient of my weekly Golden Star award?

Broncos improve to 6-0 with a win over the Jets, 27-3 in the rain.

Champ Bailey had a huge day, recording two interceptions, one of which he took back for a touchdown. Check out this crazy one in which the ball is bobbled like 10 times (including off his helmet?) before it's finally caught:

Correll Buckhalter had some huge runs, finishing the day with 109 yards on just 7 carries.

GG gregthomas.
