You can if you want, but the game is only going to force you to drop 7 since the other picks will be made by other players. Typically those later round picks aren't as good as the players already on your roster, so I wouldn't worry about that. Just make sure to write down who you dropped so you can pick them back up after (or not).
 
Sheriff - As of right now I didn't include all the previously traded 6th and 7th round picks. First, there were a ton of them and they'd take forever to sort through, but more importantly those players never tend to make it on to teams anyway. It's up to you whether we include those trades though.

thanks to al davis being a douche, I owe the pats my first rd pick but if I remember right, they're unowned... so what do i do with the pick

The Pats are now owned, one of the new guys claimed them.

But for your broader question, there are several picks which are owed to currently unowned teams, we will still be honoring those trades as far as I'm concerned.

We honor all the trades which were made in the real lNFL for this draft prior to the rosters we're using (which in this case is all of them).

You won't miss a 5th round pick though, trust me.

And to join the draft in-game just go to the league page and go to Live Draft. You can actually go now though obviously nothing's happening yet.

Sorry I've been absent on here for a while...I took a nap so I'll be ready for tonight!! This thread got really active all of a sudden in the last couple hours. I think as far as 6th/7th rounders are concerned...we can leave out all the trades done by the real NFL teams and only honor the ones that the franchise owners have traded in this league. I'm sure there aren't too many of those...so I think it'll be pretty manageable.

Awesome then yeah let's leave those motherf'ers out...and some people usually get together in a party chat or something during these drafts right? I might have to fish out my headset and join one of these if one is going on...since I'm leading the thing.
 
I may miss the draft... I'm not sure if I'll make it home by the time it starts but I'm working something out to try and have someone get on my xbox and do it for me

I know this is last minute, but is anyone from one of the FULL divisions (AFC North, AFC East, NFC South, NFC East) interested in switching to either the Broncos or the Chiefs? Both have pretty good rosters. We'd be willing to waive the "no playoff teams can switch" rule for this, though I'd still rather someone who made a ton of trades in season 1 not switch.

MA and I discussed it and we're going to (at least at first) let the teams remain open, but we don't want two unowned teams in one division from the outset.
 
I'm amazed there haven't been any draft day trades. I'd make some, but I am fully bereft of draft picks.

Part of me wants to listen to offers on some of my guys in order to move back into the first round.

I didn't get to go to the draft in the other league when I was the Jaguars so I am really new to the whole draft thing in online leagues. Maybe others are like myself? :p


Edit: The Cowboys are desperate for a 85+ SS. ;)

I did it. Just like in the other league we included all the picks which were traded by real NFL teams prior to the start of the league.

Carolina traded away their second-round selection in the 2011 draft to New England for the 2010 No. 89 overall pick. With the pick, they selected a local product, Appalachian State quarterback-turned-wide receiver Armanti Edwards.

Yeah feel free to pick back up any players that were auto-dropped from your team during the rookie draft. But keep in mind, normally you can NOT pick up any free agents without permission at the designated time...

Patriots - Your roster was too full for me to get all of your players on there. I added most of them, but there's two more:

LE Xavior Terry - 67 OVR
RE Zach Scroggins - 66 OVR

You can feel free to add these guys if you want them, they're in the FA pool, though you don't have to. Obviously since you have a full roster you'll need to drop someone to pick them up.
 
The brightside to all of my picks being traded away is that I was able to pick all my players back up, haha.

Sheriff - Let me know what Week 1 deadline should be. I'm thinking Thursday for this first week?
 
Yeah Thursday sounds fine...we got a few new people to the league and it's the first week, so we can give a little extra time. Normally though I'd say 3 days should be plenty...4 days to advance every week is probably gonna drive me crazy.

It's not dumb, we all play by the same rules. Plenty of people lost picks, but they have the players to show for them. The Vikings lost a 4th rounder for Randy Moss and he's not even on their team.

That's the first and last warning to everyone on signing players without permission, you all should know better. Anyone else who did this please drop those players immediately before I notice (and I will).

DO NOT SIGN PLAYERS WHO YOU DID NOT PERSONALLY DROP.
 
Yeah I had to give up my 2nd rounder with the Panthers in the other league too....otherwise you're just getting a player for free. Edwards turns out to be a pretty solid underrated player down the line so you're fine.

And BV - me and you play Week 2!! Our first Bears/49ers match!

By the way, since A Hard is gone too...we're really gonna need an extra person in our division. Right now it's just me and the Rams...I'm gonna ask around, I might be able to find someone.

Yes. We have FA periods for this, it's not open. A lot of people don't have backups at different positions.

Alright BV I'm gonna be pretty occupied for the night so I hope you can take it from here...I guess we should hold off on people playing the CPU for a couple days to see if we can find anyone, then maybe Wednesday or Thursday have them play the CPU if we can't get anyone. Unless they're really busy and will have to get their game in the next couple days. I GUESS...I dunno, if you think they should just go ahead and play CPU now if they want then that's fine too, not really sure what to do in this case. You figure it out!!!!!

I BELIEVE this is the correct amount of players at each required position. I may be wrong.

Let's give it a couple days at least, we may yet find some people. If we're truly going with the CPU route though, might as well start now. I'd still like to find someone for those West teams since I don't want to have 2 CPU teams in divisions.

Looks right to me, sometimes that error shows up when it's something else. Both of you should try re-ordering and saving your depth charts and then try again.
