CAG Madden League - CAGFL Superbowl I: Browns vs Broncos!

Well another loss under my belt. :) Good game DT778.

I've updated my win/loss records with all the games played so far and will put that up probably Sunday when more games are played. I'll deal with unplayed games then too.
 
I think Redvsblue's 360 was in for repairs for a while, but I have seen him online these past few days, I'll try to get with him this weekend.

Yep, I got it back yesterday afternoon so I'm able to play pretty much whenever.
 
Okay as far as the games that haven't been played if its your opponent or an Xbox issue don't worry about it. Everything else I'll deal with by either just giving a win to one of the players or I will let it go a little longer. Here is the schedule for Week 6, focus on this if you think your Week 5 game isn't going to happen.

I just got my box back from MS repairs on Friday and am back and ready to play.

I sent out a PM to both my week 5 (lordopus99) and 6 (redvsblue) oppenents.

Let me know if you guys can play anytime after 7:30 pm cst Tuesday until Thursday.

Also, for anyone that doesn't think there opponent can play a game this week if you want go ahead and try to schedule a game with someone else you haven't played or someone you won't be playing by the end of the season (the same division as you in the other conference). Divisional rivals you haven't played would be especially good. I'll deal with problems this may give the schedule and people that don't play this week as needed.
 
Me and Memphisgunna tried to play a game today and it wouldnt let us connect to each other. We also tried playing a game of NBA2K7 and it still had the same problems.
 
Sorry, Rock, I slept in late. Anyway, here's what I did:

First check your settings on your 360. On the Dashboard, pull up the "System" blade and start the Network Test. Take note of the IP address of your 360 and write it down. You'll need it later. Everything should pass, but take note of the last one "NAT Settings" which should come back as "Open". If not, then you'll have to change a few settings on your router.

Open up your router settings by inputting the address for your router (typically: "http://192.168.1.1").

Look for a tab called "Applications & Gaming>Port Range Forward".

You should have four columns named "Application", "Start", "End", "Protocol", "IP Address", and "Enable".

You'll be filling up two rows.

Under "Application" you can just enter a descriptive term so you know what it is.

"Start" and "End" should have the values "3074" and "88" in there. So it should read in one line "3074 to 3074", etc.

For "Protocol" click "Both".

For the "IP Address" input the one you wrote down earlier.

Finally, click "Enable" on both values, click "Save Changes".

Rerun the test on your 360 and you should have your NAT settings fixed.
 
my 360 died today. Not sure how long the whole process of getting it fixed takes, but I'll call microsoft tomorrow and get my coffin sent on its way.

I had set up a game with him Thursday night, but ended up staying on Chromehounds. I told him we'd try again, but I wasn't able to set something up with him. Damn you and your Marvel (I really wasn't planning on getting that game). Never mind my PM DT778. Sorry about not getting back to you on our game.

I got no response from RedVSBlue [PM and Friend request] and Lordopus said he can't play and will probably not be playing for a while.

Thursdays are the one bad time for me during the day, but Friday-Monday is open pretty much all day
 
Just want to let everyone know that either tomorrow night or Monday I'll put up the next schedule. If you have issues with your opponent by say next Friday try to play me on the weekend. If enough people play we'll move on. If not I'll consider starting the playoffs after next week.
 
just I reminder, my 360 is broke and I should have it back in about 10 days or so. Don't worry though as soon as I get it back I will play catch up and get my week 6 and week 7 games in by the time my 3600 is back.

I just got destroyed by getmyrunon, 21-0, I have to leave right now for practice so I forfeited the rest of the game...

Your offense and defense is killer, but the only complaint I have is the lag was making my QB timing and defense kinda bad, but I should've adjusted
 
Playing now, I have never seen cheaper play. Run run run run and then nothing but bombs. Annoying as hell. 28 all right now.

Edit: game over. Going for it on in the 3rd I believe? Lots of hurryup? I thought we were playing like normal people and not like 12 year olds on PS1. Did you even throw one real pass without a mad scramble backwards? That was just a disgusting game. And for people saying I'm a sore loser, I won. After he went for 2 at the end for a win instead of OT.

I have 0 respect for someone who tries to call someone elses game out and showboats in the endzone. Notice how I'm not even complaining about losing - it just happens - I don't need to whine about a video game.

In case you haven't noticed, Culpepper absolutely sucks now and so every time I did throw I put the ball in danger. That's why I run more then I pass. I didn't run the hurryup, I just ran the freaking ball and you're complaining? Lots of hurryup? You're delusional. I did it a maximum of 5 times in the game, on separate drives -- and that's including my drive in the last minute with just 1 timeout. The Patriots and Colts ran entire drives in hurry up last night. Were you yelling then?

I went for two because I didn't want you to have your running game for the last few seconds / I wanted to prevent OT. The Chiefs did the same thing in a game last season. Did you call them up and complain?

And finally, you have a problem with scrambling around? Mobile quarterbacks RUN and THROW. That's WHAT THEY DO. You must just turn off the TV if a Falcons game comes on.

You won dude! Give it a rest.

Matt - thanks a lot for putting on the league and arranging all the schedules, but I'm going to have to bow out because apparently I play like a 12 year old on the PS1. GL to everyone (including you Gojtron).

Seriously, how do you control taunting in the endzone? I've probably done it and didn't realize I was.

As far as play styles I don't care what anyone does except please don't try to sneak onside kicks in, decline roughing the kicker if the CPU does it, and if you go for it on 4th at least be near midfield or let the opponent know. I've been cheesed myself on Madden I just try to roll with it.
 
Err, I meant taunting on the way to the ez. Like high stepping, diving at the corner, etc. Dunno how to control the endzone (and don't care about it). I never in a million years would think that what I just did was cheesing, but oh well.
 
Ah don't quit man, when we get to the playoffs I'll put you in opposite sides of the brackets. :) Chances are you guys aren't going to play again and you won't have issues with anyone else.

Though if I had a fucking dollar for everyone that quits on a league I run I'd be rich. I must be fucking silly.
 
I don't know how your game went, but I've played a few games with my friends that I consider cheap even with "mobile" QBs. It's when every damn snap they sprint left or right out of the pocket and heave it down the field. It's quite obvious too when it's not a designed play. They'll even go to the other side depending on which DE I'm controlling so that to me is cheap. It'd be nice if we could get an option to watch highlights of online games though.

Watch the Browns on TV and you'll see that is the only way Charlie Frye survives. Well, except the part about getting the ball down the field. :)

I really don't mind scrambling to throw in Madden its when people run with the QB every play that I don't like. Considering sacks are pretty easy to get depending on how everyone is lined up I think the QBs need all the help they can get.

Steve, your post reminded me of a little known feature called Madden Gamecast. So I went up and looked at Gojtron and my's game. Click here

To summarize each drive quickly so you don't have to look through it: D1 = dorf drive one, D2, etc. R = run, P = pass, S = scramble.

D1 - R: 1 - TD
D2 - R: 6, TD
D3 - R: 6, S: 1, P:2 - TD
D4 - R2, P:3 - INT
D5 - R: 1, P:2 - TD
D6 - P:1 - INT
D7 - R:3
D8 - R: 6, P: 1 - TD
D9 - R: 1, FUM
D10 - R: 1, P: 3 (Turnover on Downs)
D11 - R: 2, P: 6, S: 1 - TD + 2pts
D12 : P: 3, Time expires.

33 rushing attempts, spread amongst 3 backs, and different plays. 2 qb scrambles. 19 passes. 61% rushing, 39% passing.

Those are TOTALLY acceptable stats, I didn't abuse the scramble , unless you consider doing it more than once abusive. If you don't want me to roll out of the pocket a few times with an agile QB, well then I dunno wtf to do about that, but I'm not going to take a sack just to please you. Mobile quarterbacks just don't stand around in the pocket and wait to get hit.

I don't want to play in the league anymore because if someone calls that game "disgusting" then they clearly have no idea what the hell football is.
 
They need to fix pocket movement and the D-line rush in Madden next year. There's just so many little intricate little things that I've failed to notice until the other night's Pats/Colts game with Brady and Manning nimbly sliding around the pocket. It's quite something to watch.

Definitely.. unfortunately the way the AI is currently set up each DL basically has a "radius" (determined mostly by their AWR attribute) and whenever the QB slides near it, they superman him, even if they're engaged in a block. I wonder if that'll change this gen.

I guess some of these defensive players creates such a force in their running that they push a current of air ahead of them strong enough to knock your QB down.

It's going to be interesting how the PS3 version looks as far as hit detection and physics. I'd love to see in the next few years actual arm tackles.
 
My favorite thing is how the DEs turn around on a dime (while being engaged by a blocker) right after my RB has passed them, and suddenly make the tackle.
 
we should just start the playoff already. this league is losing steam and it would probably be best to finish it before the holidays in dec.

if any of my opponents want to play ill be online later tonight.
