CAG Madden League - CAGFL Superbowl I: Browns vs Broncos!

SteveMCQ and I just finished are game after finally being able to connect. It was a big time lag fest. It was also a crazy ass game.

Final score was Colts 34
Lions 31

This game was one for the ages. With 28 seconds left he coughed it up at my own 1 when i was up by 7. As i tried to run it out my Lions great O-Line (JK) gave up a fantastic safety. Cutting my lead to 5. And then my great special teams gave up a nice free kick return for a touchdown. Giving him a 3 point lead after the two. And then there was a great pick thrown by McCown with 6 secs to go. I guess I shouldn't be suprised since I am the Lions. Good game and good luck SteveMCQ
 
Yeah, great game. Started off slow (literally--I'm gonna try to avoid EA servers around 8-9pm EST--slow as hell), but we stuck with it and it ended up quite an amusing game. Good game MVP.
 
I was annihilated by Frankysox 59 - 38.

He let me have about 38 of those points. Anyway, this game is frustrating me to no end. Whether it be in franchise mode or online, I just can't stand some of the stuff that goes on. I don't need the frustration, so I'm thinking about trading it in. I'll let you know what I decide to do.

H-Town Info and I played our game tonight. It was a good game. A bit laggy, and I'll admit I got lucky, but the Seahawks overcame the Texans, 35-24.
 
Okay everyone since we're having problems getting games played I'm going to give everyone a few more days and I'm going to go ahead and put the Week 2 schedule up soon.

I'm not going to give a win to whoever tried the hardest to play just yet. I'm still debating if I will look for more replacements or what we'll do is try to get through a few weeks and then just drop the people that don't play and I'll revise the schedule some.

Don't let it bother you and just enjoy it man. Every football before has had stupid mistakes and every one after this one is going to have them too. I'd like to see you stick it out because there are people here committed to playing that would like to see this league go as smooth as possible.

I'm going to keep it, if for no other reason than to not be a dick and throw a wrench in the league. I don't mind getting blasted online, it's just that franchise mode has been pissing me off to the point where I can't have fun with it.

What team are you playing with? The Bucs I assume? Run up the gut with Big Mikey with the highlight stick. You're guranteed like 5 yards with him or more. Mix it up a little with a play action screen pass to him and he'll most likely get a lot more.
 
Me and my oppenent have been trying to play our game but our schedules just dont work out. If you want to you can get someone on the waiting list to replace me as the bengals. Its hard working and going to school full time.

I can run fine with Cadillac, Alstott doesn't have too many plays I'm fond of and he drops passes a bit too much for my taste. I just hate the "Mario Party" A.I. in franchise (in All-Pro at least) that brings the other teams back from the depths. Once I get up 14 points the opposing running back becomes Barry Sanders and Walter Payton rolled into one and the defense sacks me before I can hand-off the ball; it's just fucking frustrating.

I play All-Pro too and I know what you mean by the frustration. I'll tell you though, I play with the Bucs in franchise mode too and Mike has at least 2 touchdowns a game, maybe even 3.

He's a nice compliment to Cadillac. I love running with him in the redzone and watching him drag people into the endzone. Do you have much luck passing? All of the Bucs passing plays are pretty much the same and the talent isn't really there, I can always count on one play-action long TD pass to Galloway per game though.

I've gotten the sliders to where the game doesn't frustrate me as much, but I'm so fucking sick and tired of getting sacked a second after I snap the ball.

Yeah I hate that too. There's this one play with Mike, if you go into "By Key Player" and choose Mike, you can see this PA Screen Pass to him. Use the QB eye on him and when you hike the ball, don't touch anything until you are back into QB again (in other words don't move your QB) and then just hit Mike Alstott and he should catch it. I've had a few glitches happen before where there ball collides with mike and the play is still going on, but the ball is just stuck in his arms and he can't catch it. It's really messed up, but if you do it right you should have a nice yardage gain.
 
You aren't restricted to using the TB playbook either, try some other PBs to see what else you might like. As for the qb, one of my best methods of having success against them is once I'm up 2 scores I just start "asking madden" for my defensive plays and pick one of the ones he reccommends. Let the AI outsmart the AI :)

I also need to practice because my buddy beat me twice yesterday and he does not even have a 360. Plus I have not really played at all because I have been playing other titles.

Pootie Thang was winning at halftime 42-14 so you can give him the win. Since he wasn't on microphone, I just jumped off cause I figured by the way he was playing I wouldn't get out of it. It was too tough to play against a constant no-huddle with throwing hail marys in a running formation and also playing defense on 4th and 17 down on his own 8 was just unexpected. I guess this teaches me a lesson to set all my audibles :p

My headphone was one, but I just realized my volume was off. So sorry about that. It was close at first but I just found the money play. I got my ass stomped in the first game I played.
 
gg riles. sorry for chewing up so much clock but when games are laggy I can't run my usual game and so I have to resort to holding the opponent to a few scores.

Can't believe Edge got in on that fourth and goal, I was sure I had a stop. :)

You guys don't really seem to be complaining, but I have had complaints before about people not playing in a fair manner. If anyone seems to be using trick plays repeatedly or running with a QB every play or something let me know. Also, don't abuse the stamina glitch.

Also, remember to play on All Madden that should keep the scores down a little.

Finally, thanks everyone for getting the Week 2 games going. Its nice to see we're making progress. Just gotta get a fill in to get the last week 1 game situated, but we'll move on for now. MVP I'll look for you tomorrow night.

It is cowardly and bullshit if what your opponent said about you repeatedly doing no huddle and running the same play ever time. It is okay to run the same play twice in the same drive and that is only if your drive is more than 8 plays. Otherwise it isn't even a fun game. Plus, I'm sure a lot of people got stomped in there game before, it doesn't mean that you should just play like an ass to your opponent. I mean 4 and 17 on your own 8 and you went for it. I mean in both of my games so far I have told my opponents if I was going for it on 4 down. That way they are not getting screwed over and it also makes for a better game.

It looked like I might have been able to come back at the beginning of the fourth until I threw an interception which he ended up turning into a touchdown. Ah well it was a fun game at least.
 
Okay I've updated my records with all of the games played. Hope to get fill in situations resolved soon.

This week will last through the weekend, but extra time will be given for anyone have scheduling problems with a valid reason.

I didn't run the same plays over and over and over. I audibled a lot and I used MANY HOT ROUTES. Look I'm officially out of this league now that we have complainers. Good look to whoever takes my place.
