CAG MLB 10: The Show League Fantasy Teams! MIL/PHI/SD open! Series 6 Games Due 9/6!

All right, well that seems to be the majority of us. I guess we can start looking for a replacement for Jetman and I'll try to get the roster for his team posted sometime today. Also, I'm setting a hard deadline for Series 1 games to be this Sunday, 7/11 at 11:59 PM EST. Who knows. Maybe we'll get through this thing.

EDIT - Sent out PM's to everyone except steggy (your inbox is full) to make sure we're all aware of the deadline. Hopefully we'll find a replacement player before then too.

And I should add that today may be the only time I can play before the deadline. Part of ti depends on when/if I am able to come home tonight and whether or not I can sleep. I might be able to play tomorrow afternoon, but I can't say with certainty. I'll be out tomorrow night for sure.

For what it's worth, the Phillies have a 2-0 record and the Padres have an 0-1 record.


There are currently 3 unplayed games left in series 1.

Supreme vs Matt Young (Neither of you has played a game yet, so I don't know how interested either of you are at this point)

ajumbaje vs wildcpac (Obviously, if there's no replacement for ajumbaje, wild will get a win here)

Steggy vs Jetman07 (same here. if there's no replacement for Jetman, Steggy will get the win)

Again, these games are due by Sunday, 6/11 at 11:59 PM EST. I'm trying to prevent another completely wasted season of The Show online, guys. But I need some help.
 
I'll be gone for about 2 weeks starting Tuesday so I'm looking to get a game (maybe Series 2) or a couple games in this weekend. I'll be on a lot today and tomorrow. Message me if you want to play.

As long as you enjoy playing the game and are somewhat easy to get ahold of (ie. check this thread frequently/respond to messages), you're more than welcome. I don't even think anybody here is too competitive about it anymore, and we're just hoping to make it through the season. Both the Phillies and Padres are open. Take a look at the rosters and records posted above, let me know who you want, and I'll send you an invite. I'll need your PSN name though.

Supreme and I were in contact often. Nobody else bothered contacting me, even after I posted my entire active schedule. Supreme actually messaged me earlier, but it was after I was out. I just messaged him back.

I know. I think most people have just strayed from this game a lot lately (myself included). When I checked the unresolved games earlier, I saw that almost everybody hasn't logged onto Sportsconnect since the last week of June. It's no big deal. I'm just trying to pull everybody back so maybe we can finish this damn thing. Although I will say, it's going to be somewhat difficult to get in touch with wildcpac because he's been temporarily banned from CAG for his ranting in the NBA off season thread.
 
N8 - as far as I can tell, the game that Supreme and I tried to play that got dropped before both lineups were accepted is still showing finished with no winner. Is that what you still see?

Josh - I think we have series 2 game to play - when are you available?
 
All right, I finally got around to resolving the games that needed to be resolved. I meant to do it yesterday, but then I got wrapped up in the Home Run Derby and Celebrity Softball game (moreso the softball game...damn that Jennie Finch!) Anyway, since we seem to have no replacments for Jetman or ajumbaje...aside from that stormshadow guy posting once and then disappearing, I just went ahead and dropped them from the league and wins to their opponents (Steggy and wildcpac). As for the game between Supreme and Matt Young, since they apparently had contact but couldn't agree on a time, I just decided to flip a coin. Fortune sided with Matt on that one, so he got the win.

Now we're on to Series 2 games, which will be due this Sunday, 7/18 by 11:59 PM EST. Hopefully proceeding this way will get people back into the game again. I can promise you that this season will come to a conclusion, even if it means me picking winners all the way till the end. If I have to, I will force someone to be the CAG League champion this year, lol. This game has given me way too many gray hairs to not have some kind of resolution. So, get at it, guys! Play your games...or I will play them for you, lol. :)

Oh, and Keith, I looked and your game with Supreme says "unplayed". Not sure what it shows for you, but I'm looking at the schedule screen for your team, and there's no result there at all. There shouldn't be any reason why you guys can't play it.
 
So, uh...yeah. Is anybody trying to play their games? I saw Supreme and Destro on last night, but I was wrapped up in trying to get my franchise caught up (I'm only like 30 games behind..) Speaking of which, I had this happen in a game. I don't know why this weird crap always happens to me, but at least this time it was in my favor, haha.

Ah, sorry. I checked my PSN messages, but that was it. It's nearly impossible to tell when you get a SportsConnect message when you're in a franchise game. I know the controller rumbles, but it does that for so many reasons, I never think "somebody might have sent me a message". I'm going to hop on my PS3 now if anybody wants to play. Just shoot me a message on PSN.
 
Sports connect is inaccurate as to whos on use PSN I havent been on this game. anyways my series 2 is the Padres so I cant play it.
 
I haven't played an online game since May, and no RTTS since late April. Wow. I guess the only times I've been on since the draft were to get my schedule. I'll post it again in hopes that someone (preferably week 2 or 3) can play:

Josh -good game. 13 innings is crazy. I don't know what happened on your inside the parker to tie the game with 2 outs in the 9th, but that was clutch. A bit laggy from the 6th inning on. I was lucky to get the walk-off in the 13th, as I was running out of pitchers.

Matt - I can play today (Monday) or Wednesday most any time, so just let me know what works for you.

Keith, pretty much any time this afternoon works. I'm on Pacific time. I can for sure play by noon Pacific, maybe before. If I'm on the PSN, I may have to finish whatever I'm doing before joining a game, assuming you just catch me on and we don't set one up in advance.

EDIT: ATTN: Nate- My week 2 opponent, madnena, is still out of town, just so you know.
 
Yeah, while the deadline I set has technically passed, I forgot that since we had less people in this league, it allowed me to set full 7 day series this time, so the game's don't "expire" until exactly one week after the last series have been resolved. And since I was a little slow resolving them last week, I think everybody still has about another 24 hours or so. As soon as the option is available though, we're moving on. Like I mentioned to Matt last night, I'm just going to keep this train rolling, and whoever wants to jump back on and play their games, great. But at the very least, it will reward the people who want to see this thing finish.
 
I just hope those of us who do play get the trophy (trophies?) for completing a league with X% (I think it may be 60) of games actually played. Sucks that I couldn't play Supreme. He and I were in communication; our schedules just conflicted and then we didn't get done on time.

I actually hadn't played this game in any mode for a while, but I did a couple hours of RTTS and I'm hooked again.
 
Keith, I guess you turned out to not be available? I'll be on and offline till about 8-9 P.M. Pacific time tonight. I will likely be heading to bed early due to not sleeping last night.

Matt - I got on psn at 3:00 EST and was on until 6:00 EST but didn't see you on - even sent you psn message to message me if you got on and I was doing something else...

Well, just got a message from Steggy saying he has to drop. He's having some financial issues and decided to sell the game because simply, he's not enjoying it very much. With all the problems the game has had, I really can't blame him. That's the biggest thing I hate about games needing to be patched. All you see before the game comes out is videos and previews talking about how awesome things are and what new things were added. Then the games come out...half of it is broken, and we all wait patiently for the developers to fix everything. If that just doesn't completely suck the excitement and build up out of a game, I don't know what will.

Anyway, like I said before, still moving forward. If necessary, the last man standing will win this league. The only thing I worry about is with 3 teams dropped (all in the NL), I don't know how the trophy situation is going to work out. The season has 16 games...so, if NL teams can't play any of the dropped teams, that means they can only play a maximum of 10 out of 16 games (62.5%). If they miss one more game, that puts them at 56.25%. I have no clue how playoff games factor into that, but with 3 NL teams dropped, only one team will miss the playoffs. Hopefully this isn't a dealbreaker for anybody, but it's just something I thought of and wanted everyone to be aware.

I wish when you dropped a team, it would just pretend like they never existed (with the option to invite a new player of course) like in NHL 10. Instead, it shows the team as "dropped", but still makes me resolve the games with them (which theoretically means I could give a win to a dropped team...I haven't tried it, but the stupidity of that wouldn't surprise me coming from Sony). Unless people in Josh's league want to come over here, I don't know what else to do for dropped teams. Regardless, this thing will push ahead until it's finished.

That was a great game we played. Back and forth it was fun. My only problem was the baserunning but still was fun. I was starting to get a little worried with my pitching also. But hey, good win for you.
 
Unbefuckinglievable. I throw wildpac a fastball out of the zone and he absolutely crushes it for a 3-run home run. This is why I love this game. It was a good game regardless. I swear, Josh Johnson has the most ridiculous slider in the game. Even if you make contact, it's going nowhere. I once faced an asshole who threw nothing but sliders down and away the whole game, and there was nothing I could do because he threw them for strikes the whole time.

Well, Killsbury was my week 2 opponent and my week 3 is madnena, who I guess is not here, so that leaves you n8 as my week 4 opponent. Let me know when you wanna play.

Weird stuff happens in this game - I selected pitch out against Josh the other night and ended up hitting him. I guess the pitcher thought I called for a pitch "in" instead of a pitch out. Not sure how the heck that happens.

Keith and I finally got to play. We each challenged each other a couple times. It got to the "Hosted Session" part of the loading screen (after a minute or two) and then said the connection failed. I challenged him to an exhibition game just to try it out, and we connected quickly and it said our connection was good. All green, with lightning bolts and everything! So maybe there was a league problem.

Then I said, for shits and giggles, let's try it once more before I bug Nate. It worked, but the connection sucked. It improved greatly after the first 3-4 innings, but there was still lag probably a third of the game after that. In the first few innings, pitches were disappearing in mid-air and I almost gave up a run or two due to a HBP and a wild pitch, both caused by lag. I'm sure some of Keith's mistakes were caused by lag as well.

But, long story short- I blew a lot of chances, leaving the bases loaded once and runners on a few times (he left men on as well) and I fucked up at least twice on the base paths, costing me scoring chances.

The game could have gone either way, but he went up 2-1 on an Edwin Jackson homer in the 6th after Manny jacked a solo shot in the second. Well played game on his end; I just wish the lag wasn't so prevalent. It hurt us both. And I hope the game counts in the standings. :whistle2:\

I still have madnena as my week 2 opponent, and cpac for week 4. My game with Keith was week 3.

EDIT: Oh, hey madnena! We should definitely play this weekend.

Since you're lobbying to play madnena this weekend, should I not be advancing the series then? I couldn't advance it on the 18th because of the one week turnaround, but the games are obviously available to be resolved now. I don't have a problem with giving everyone another week since some people were out of town, and we're not at a complete stand still yet. The important thing is just that games keep getting played. I just want things to stay active and not reach a point where we're waiting on one or two people.

As always, lag made it interesting.
 
Thanks for the compliment, Keith, but like I said, the lag caused some of those strikeouts for you, I'm sure. Still, 15-16 K's isn't too shabby.

Nate, madnena just posted before that saying he'd finally be back this weekend, so I'm hoping we can get that game in. I just hope I can get more of a clear indication on a day and/or potential time. Cpac is my next opponent after that, so whenever he's ready, we can try to set something up.

It's a shame that the online has so many problems. When the game works, it's so good. But you've been saying that for months. Thanks for sticking with the league, man. You're far and away the best online sports league commissioner I've ever dealt with, even though we have had some good ones in the past here on CAG. Just wanted to let you know the effort is appreciated, my friend.

All right guys, just bumping this to remind everyone that the new deadline for Series 2 games will be this Sunday, 7/25 at 11:59 PM EST. I'm really going to try to resolve any unplayed games as close to that deadline as possible since I discovered I won't be able to resolve any games in the next series until a full 7 days has passed. Otherwise, we're going to keep lagging behind each week, and this thing will get drawn out even more. I know Destro and wildcpac have been trying to play, and Matt and madbst as well. So, I hope you guys are able to get those games in over the next few days.

I just now saw this. I was out all last night anyway, so I wouldn't have been able to play then. Also, I didn't sleep last night so there is a chance that I may fall asleep before 11 Eastern tonight. However, I have the intention of staying up all day and a couple tall cans of Monster to help me out, so I will gladly play you then if I am awake.

Destro, good game but I still cant believe I got the No hitter. Clayton Kershaw was just flat out Nasty and I got the changeup going all game.
