All the bears fans I know are hoping for a shanahan/ryan combination (was harbaugh/ryan but obviously he goes to michigan which I think will be awesome for the big ten).I think Chicago is going to hire Shannahan. It is the only thing that makes sense since Cutler and Marshall were good under him.
Nope not happening, as Ryan stated this morning, it's either head coach or T.V. He is making 4 million just by staying at home so he isn't going to rush into a coordinator position. All the bears fans I know are hoping for a shanahan/ryan combination (was harbaugh/ryan but obviously he goes to michigan which I think will be awesome for the big ten).
They wouldn't have moved on from him had he won the Super Bowl. No way the fanbase would stand for that. Anything short of that though it's probably a done deal. I think part of it is Harbaugh wanted this to happen in some form. I also had read Baalke wanted Roman gone and Harbaugh said no.Hella dumb move for the Niners to fire Harbaugh. Hey Yorks, you're supposed to fire shitty coaches, not good coaches that you have a little trouble getting along with. Find a way to make it work.
Jay Glazer reported early in the season that Harbaugh would be gone even if he won the superbowl. Even with Glazer's reputation I didn't want to believe it but here we are. So the decision to get rid of Harbaugh was made after 3 straight conference title games and a super bowl appearance. Hopefully when we find out the truth about this firing it would be something interesting and not just the Yorks being cheap.
Reminds me of when the Niners got rid of Mariucci. Hopefully it works out better this time.
The division is horrible, but I can see the Panthers doing some damage in the playoffs. The NFC South is a disgrace, though it helped the AFC North look more impressive than it probably was.
Well to Jay Glazer's credit, his Week 1 report stating Jim was going to be gone even if he won a SB turned out to be true. I agree with him that this parting would have still happened - even if we won this year. They wouldn't have moved on from him had he won the Super Bowl. No way the fanbase would stand for that. Anything short of that though it's probably a done deal. I think part of it is Harbaugh wanted this to happen in some form. I also had read Baalke wanted Roman gone and Harbaugh said no.
Jim Harbaugh's son also said things about the organization and how it's run but I don't know if I can believe it.
And it's exactly why he is heading back to the college game... I mean these guys see how political the NFL game can be, but if you can get with a College power, you get complete control over the program, and now even be paid like a pro coach. It's why Saban will never leave Alabama, and now I can guarantee Harbaugh won't leave MichiganWell to Jay Glazer's credit, his Week 1 report stating Jim was going to be gone even if he won a SB turned out to be true. This is similar to how the team cut ties with George Seifert. He was a successful coach for the 49ers but even though George "resigned", he was actually being pushed out by the FO. Jim is not leaving the team on his own will. The FO is pushing Jim out. They can't work with him. Call it childish or call it insane. But the point is at least in their eyes, the relationship is toast.
It's pretty obvious who the sources were for Jay Glazer. Either it was Jed York (owner) or Trent Baalke (GM). Ostensibly, it could have been Paarag Mathe (President). But the point was that these leaks were sent out before the season even began with the intention to undermine Jim's status with the team. Guys in these high level positions have huge egos and it boils down to power and want. Ironically, these leaks to undermine Jim ended up hurting the team this year and provided a gigantic distraction. The FO deserves a lot of blame for that and I'm personally upset as to how it was handled.
As a local, I recall a radio interview last off-season when Jed publicly acknowledged that, "Jim will do some things that can rub people off the wrong way." Jim isn't without fault. I don't doubt that he probably had some immaturity issues but I'm more sympathetic with Jim's camp since it's obvious he'd have stayed if he could. The bottom line was he sought an extension on two separate occasions and was denied in each instance. It's disappointing that these guys can't get past their issues together.
Have you looked at Alex Smith's stats? He doesn't throw the ball to anyone who is beyond ten yards. You need a better QB.Everyone forgot that the Chargers almost lost in their playoff clinching game last year against an entire second team Chiefs team.
And the Chiefs finish the season without throwing a single touchdown to a wide receiver. Which seemingly strengthens the argument us here in KC have argued for a while now: we need better WRs.
As a Broncos fan I can say both... He never throws down field because literally there is no one to throw to... his weapons are charles and Kelce, and both play positions that don't go deep often.Have you looked at Alex Smith's stats? He doesn't throw the ball to anyone who is beyond ten yards. You need a better QB.
I hope they can keep Fangio as the DC. Even with all the injuries and suspensions the defense was solid.I'd like to see what Ryan could do with the 49ers defensive talent.
Even if winning the SB would have saved Harbaugh's job, it's a crazy way to run an organization. Baalke definetly wanted Roman gone. Did you see when Baalke's daughter posted something like "Greg Roman should leave. The 49ers don't want you." See was spilling out dinner table conversations on twitter. So that could have been the main problem, the fight over Roman. They wouldn't have moved on from him had he won the Super Bowl. No way the fanbase would stand for that. I agree with this, especially the last part.Well to Jay Glazer's credit, his Week 1 report stating Jim was going to be gone even if he won a SB turned out to be true. I agree with him that this parting would have still happened - even if we won this year.

Well there hasn't been any reporting on this that I can recall but one theory that's been floating out there is that the FO wanted Jim to fire Greg Roman the OC. Jim's very loyal to his players and coaching staff - almost to a fault. The theory is that Jim was never ok with letting Roman go despite the FO's impression of the playcalling.Even if winning the SB would have saved Harbaugh's job, it's a crazy way to run an organization. To hell with it now I stand by the original statement.michigan,
michigan hard. Cheap ploy to sell tickets and try to drum up a win over my illini today
Ok not really, but I bet they do get quite a few more seats sold for the basketball game today than they would have with most of the students gone for break and I don't appreciate it.
Right there with you. So happy with the outcome of the game.EDIT: While I still miss Boldin, I am so, so happy we have Elvis Dumervil.
Suh is a dirty piece of shit, but he's super intelligent. I fully believe he knew that the 32 games had just expiredSuh caught a break because after 32 games(including the preseason) your repeat offender tag goes away. Suh literally just lost his repeat offender tag.
I do agree that its all bullshit. Peterson didn't kiss the ring and that's why he got suspended as long as he did. Players need to start asserting their leverage and start playing hardball with the owners.
The Peterson thing just reeks of behind the scene politics. Particularly when you hear the recording that he was outright told if he made a plea deal his suspension would be over in 2 games. I'm no fan of Peterson, even as a Vikings fan, but he got screwed royally and I wouldn't blame him at all if he decided to just walk and retire.Suh caught a break because after 32 games(including the preseason) your repeat offender tag goes away. I think so.Refs won?
I don't get what you think he did wrong? As far as I can tell he hasn't broken any agreement. I'm not a Rams fan though so I don't know the ins and outs.Under their current deal, the Rams can end their 30-year lease a decade early because they have not reached an agreement with St. Louis officials on improvements to the stadium. The sides remain about $575 million apart. St. Louis is expected to offer the team a new proposal by month's end.
He scheduled two regular season home games in London (only had one in London), broke ground for his new LA stadium before the end of the 2014 season, announced it before the end of the season and negotiated in bad faith.I don't get what you think he did wrong?
