CAG PS3 Fighting Game Matchmaking Thread - Injustice out NAO!
Oh boy, I can't wait to play as my favorite red haired, one-eyed amputee female samurai once more.
Baiken was one of my mains too. Super stoked for this.
Hey, I liked HDR a lot. But yeah, matchmaking was glitched up as fuck. The netcode was really good though, I thought.
When I first heard about it I couldn't wait till it came out. I did enjoy it but I didn't play it much. Same thing happened with Third Strike.

Over the weekend my internet didn't get unstable and I thought well maybe its getting better. I was so wrong and assumed I would be. Last night it took the worst massive shit ever. Ping was 500ms and it was downloading at 12KB which wasn't even stable. Really annoying and laughable.

So... I finally called about getting DSL for internet instead of the cable I have now and there installing it Friday. Will I be any better off or will it be as shitty as the cable is?

I would have kept the cable if it didn't completely tank at times and get completely unstable. I'll be happy with the DSL as long as its stable.

My cable internet is trolling me. It hasn't got shitty yet today at all when it always is garbage by this time. >_

in my experience DSL has been worse than Cable but I think that is dependent on the provider for DSL I had ATT and it was atrocious shelled out the extra for Cable and have had no qualms.

Overall, Cable is better than DSL. It provides much more bandwidth. But the downside is that the more users at a time in your area, the more your bandwidth takes a hit. The best overall is fiber optic. However, not every city is offered that option, where they have to settle for cable.

They claim we should have fiber optic in the next 6-8 months. Since they say that maybe by a year we might. Cable is fine as you already pointed out if it isn't getting raped by to many people in a certain area which is my main problem with my cable internet.

Will I be happy with DSL? My cable is awesome after 11pm and gets a ping around 30ms always during a ping test. At that time KOFXIII/UMVC3 is smooth as butter. I doubt they will be as smooth with DSL since the ping won't be quite as good but I was wondering how big of a difference it will be.

I've noticed some people say there DSL gets insanely slow at times. What's the cause of that exactly just shitty service or if a extreme amount of people are on the service like cable? I remember reading/hearing DSL was like your own line and it wouldn't slow down due to other people using it. I really don't believe that part.

I've heard mixed reviews of the DSL services. Some people claim the other I didn't get goes out constantly. If its slow and losses connection I'm no better off. My cable rarely ever lost a connection. It just got really slow/unstable when everyone was using it in my area.

Alright skanks, i got Soul Calibur 5 and KOF13 today thanks to the gamestop b2g1. Problem is im waking up everyday and going to the gym at 6am, so i really dont have much time to play anymore. Oh well, still getting SFxT asap.

Pre-order paid off in full for SFxT, Cross Assault got me so hype for this game its insane.

I tried to get the SE of the game due to having left over credit, but they said i was too late. Oh well, day 1 SFxT online is on.

Capcom has claimed that this will be the only disc based iteration of the game. If they were to add anything else or have another iteration, it would be DLC. Then again, it's Capcom's word...

So far 12 chars have been confirmed as on disc already dlc.

Capcom has said that you can use the original SFxT disc for the entire time the game will be played, im SURE a disc update will come out, but it will also work fine on the original release. That is why i went ahead and paid full price and pre-ordered it at gamestop.

And i have all 12 DLC characters unlocked on my dev machine 360, if you wanna play them option, gonna have to talk to me dirty.

I swear I have the worst luck. I ordered internet service from Frontier last Tuesday and they was coming Friday. I waited on them all day and nothing. I called late that day and asked what was up. They said there was something wrong with the order...

The guy on the phone was in shock when I told him to forget the whole thing since they didn't come. They would have had to ran a line and installed a phone jack the entire works.

The even worse part is I canceled my cable internet Wensday and was without internet until today. I went without internet 3 weeks when I first moved but I didn't have any new games or nothing interesting at that time so it didn't bother me as bad.

I was extremely pissed to say the least. I even called to have my cable cut back on and they gave me some bullshit about paying a fee first. So long story short... I'm back on cable.

The even weirder part is a friend got frontier and wanted me to see it in action. I thought great I'll see what I missed out on but thank god I didn't get Frontier. It does the exactly same thing as the cable does but honestly I think Frontier is even worse.

I tested it early Saturday and it was decent results. It kept reading around 2.55 when it was 3mb and for the ping it got kept getting around 60-70ms everytime, but here's the shocker/kicker. I went there Sunday night at what time mine is complete crap and it got worse results than my cable does.

I did the speed test first and it read at 1mb then 0.4mb then 0.8mb then 0.2mb.

Then I got to the ping test... First one popped up was 1000ms and then it dropped to 800ms and then it read 1400ms. So I was like ok fuck it I'm keeping the cable internet. It may get shitty at times but so does this dsl and the dsl cost more for lower speed. Plus paying for the dsl to be installed.

My cable didn't get as bad tonight as it usually does on Monday night. It didn't complete tank at least. There was a few times I thought it was gonna lag insanely but it quit as soon as it came.

Only other option I have would be to get DSL from AT&T. People claim the AT&T U-verse is good if you can get it in your area.

I skipped SC5. I might buy it on the cheap.

I can't resist that Street Fighter X Tekken. I should have bought it when it was 47.99 at Newegg.

jman, just stick with cable. That is your best option. DSL does not provide as much bandwidth as Cable. No matter what people say, Cable is technically faster than DSL.

@blitz: It's ok, I don't want to be a full fledged pirate just yet. I don't think I could get used to walking around with an eyepatch, peg-leg, and a hook for a right hand.

I also posted up the SF x T sign up sheet. I'd be down to play some 2 on 2 when I get the game later today. Though I'd probably be hitting that training mode hard, like a log trap hitting the US marvel scene.

I have to say, SFxT is just insanely fun. After the midnight launch, i played it till 5am when i had to go to the gym. When playing 1v1, the netcode is pretty damn good already. Lobby matches tend to lag. This is the most fun i have had with a fighter in a LONG time, its just so freakin good.

If anyone wants to get together for a Fighting Game Share account, im interested in going in with someone long term. Would like the DLC packs for SFxT, VF5FS, Skullgirls, etc. PM me if interested.

i'll add you next time i hop on, won't be comfortable doing matches till next week, though. i tried online a couple times and it seems my SF4 mind still hasn't cleared itself yet.
Gave in and bought Street Fighter X Tekken from Newegg. Its 49.99 with a promo code.
I'll wait till it's about tree fiddy.

That way the DLC can make it full price. I haven't even put 300 hours into KOF 13 yet. Why buy a new fighting game?

I haven't even put 20 hours into KOFXIII and I've put around 33 in UMVC3.

I rented Street Fighter X Tekken today on 360 since that's all they had, I noticed it has some sound effect issues online. Most matches had some weird lag as well. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. There was a couple of good matches I had. I asked a few people on xbl and all of them said the online sucks.

First fighter I've ever seen that has a sound issue. Do they even test the online to fighters anymore? Its just more proof it was rushed and to expect dat super in 6-7 months. I don't bitch about it because I know I'll buy another version of the game.

Good games bassek and Quickly Dead. Sorry about not replying earlier, my friend was over and want to try the game for a good bit. Thanks though for trying that scramble mode.

Unfortunately, I'm getting the impression that the netcode for this game isn't that great. The sound glitches coupled with the rollbacks = not so great of an online experience. But despite that, scramble mode was a blast and me and my friend's plan to trap you guys in the middle definitely backfired, haha.

I remember asking you about the netcode before I played it and you said it was decent then I rented the game and noticed the sound issue right off. Also noticed the weird lag and I thought to myself Option calls this decent I wonder what Option considers bad online...;)

I was even blaming my internet for the online to Street Fighter X Tekken so I switched over to play UMVC3 and it was as smooth as you can get it. I go back to Street Fighter X Tekken and its somewhat wonky. xD

I know Capcom said they won't release another disc version but it makes me think of mvc3 and how the online to mvc3 was ass and then in umvc3 its improved greatly.

I may be completely wrong on this but I think Namco is going to jump on the bandwagon and release another version of SC5. By now you think they would release a patch for the online's random drop issue.

That was when the only online I experience was with Esper who's in the same state (Norcal to Socal). It was ok then. But when I played Akari (I believe he's in CA too), it was kinda bad. Then, last night, when I played Scramble with Quickly and bassek, it was superbad. This netcode doesn't seem that great right now. Here is my netcode tier list:

S
HDR, MvC2, Blazblue, Arcana Heart 3, SC5

A
3sO

B
SF4 series

C
SF x T

D
UMvC3, Mortal Kombat

F
Tekken 6, Neo Geo Games

Shit Tier
King of Fighters XIII/XII

note: HDR despite having great netcode, has shitty/glitchy matchmaking.

Guys, please post your netcode tier lists or feel free to share your opinions. I might have to change my opinion on SF x T as I play more online, which unfortunately doesn't seem likely.

I tried SFxT online for a bit, didn't seem bad or any worse than SF4, really. The sound makes it feel much worse than it is, but yeah -- music fixes that. Overall, pretty disappointing given that Capcom said they put so much effort into a new netcode.

I don't care much for the online anyways, putting hundreds of hours into SF4 against U.S. players online has taught me horrible habits that I'm still trying to rid myself of. So SFxT will be all training and local play for me.

I don't understand why people say the online is bad to King Of Fighters XIII. Most games I get the screen is smooth and it has very little delay. Am I missing something? What is bad about it exactly? I've got such smooth games before in it with the right people I really don't understand why people say the online to it is bad.

The online to SC5 doesn't seem that great to me. It usually had some lag when I played it. Not horrible lag but the lag was usually there. I played SC4 and noticed the screen was smoother in it but it had worse delay. With SC5 the screen wasn't as smooth but the delay was better.

I agree with most of what you posted the online to blazblue and third strike would be the best ones to me and of course mvc2/arcana heart.

From what I remember of playing Tekken 6. I would put it way lower than KOFXIII.

I want to play Street Fighter X Tekken more before I comment a lot on it. Some matches aren't to bad while others was.

I rather have the screen smooth and have input delay instead of the inputs near perfect and the screen lagging on me some. I'm sure most of you guys rather have perfect inputs.

Have you even played umvc3 online? I forgot about that Mortal Kombat Kollection. Its online is beyond horrible.

SFxT is hit or miss, but when its working right, its awesome. Landed hugos c.mp, clap hands, c.mp, closeline, c.lp, airgrab online. That in itself speaks volumes that its even possible to land online! Overall it seems 99% of people are playing on wireless internet and not installing the game. Total noobs in other words.

Yes, that's why I rated it.
Fixed it for you.
Good enough.
I know you have. I was asking Paco. Is your name Paco? ;)
Saw it at my friends place. It was doing some weird ass shit like the buttons weren't connecting with the action on the screen. It reminded me of trying to nail combos with Deejay in Super 4 where his shit is one frame links and Ryu's is trollably lenient.
