The whole thing with Ono sounds pretty fishy. Seems like infinites, glitches and other complaints have eclipsed most of the coverage of SFxT. I still havent gotten a chance to play it yet. Are these complaints justified or is it just typical internet hate? I dont follow these stories too closely but it looks like Ono has had some sort of breakdown likely due to stress over sfxt. Its tough to have something you work hard on and pride yourself over to be shot down and I hope it doesnt prevent him from making future projects(darkstalkers 4?).
Ive been away from CAG for a while, anyone still playing UMVC, I play haggar/frank/hawkeye.
Snakemaster, you gotta link me a bigger copy of your avatar, I cant read it. I am a huge Primus/Claypool fanatic and through it have recently picked up an appreciation for Rush.
IMO, just pass on SF x T. The main problem is that most matches end in timeouts. It's because of how fast the timer counts down and the damage scaling. Not to mention that Evo announced that SF x T is strictly going to be 2v2 no gems. I know a lot of people don't have the chance or wish to go to evo, but when the world's largest fg tournament thinks this is how the game should be played, it's hard to convince avid fighting game fans otherwise. It gives less meaning to gem play and 1v1 play, even if you weren't planning on playing competitively.
The game is definitely not the "funnest" I've played. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, though I still prefer UMvC3 and AE2012. The hype is definitely lacking as well. Just watch a stream of SFxT and look at the stream monster response, I guarantee much negativity. With this whole predicament, I might have to join the brown side and actually pick up KoF...
As for Ono, even if this thing is all a hoax, I'm sure that this whole gem ordeal wasn't solely Ono's plan. Honestly, the whole gems thing was just a marketing ploy to rake in more money. Gem gameplay was secondary. Even though Ono was also responsible for the abomination that was Capcom Fighting Evolution/Jam, he also revived the fighting game genre with SFIV. Despite his "troll" nature, I hope he stays as Capcom's main fighting game producer.
Also, I'm always down to play dat Mahvel, and feel free people to sign up on the lists in the OP if you haven't already.
