CAG PS3 Fighting Game Matchmaking Thread - Injustice out NAO!
im getting strt fighter x tekken(360) later so if anyone wants add me then go ahead.
Wrong thread bro-ski, peasant 360 owners who cannot afford PS3 Master Race systems is in the 360 section.

I'm really liking Blazblue even though its the same game. I should have just bought it when it first came out. Now I need to get rid of Blazblue Continuum Shift. I think I'll donate it to goodwill since it won't bring much money anyway. I donated some older ps3/360 games to goodwill before.
Is sfx tekken really better on ps3? If so I might get it on ps3
I've played it on both. It seems about the same to me. Only difference is PS3 has those exclusive characters.
Your game is just a step up above generic doujin fighters. Hell that Persona 4 fighter looks more interesting then Blazblue.
My game is KoFXIII and I agree with you. I just wish I could play this game online, it sucks so bad. I cut myself for making KoFXIII my game.

Well, i guess a couple things happened this week.

Gootecks retires from Cross Counter. Ono falls ill and temporarily steps down as Capcom fighting games producer. I hope nothing else bad happens.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to Skullgirls. It'd be great if it was officially announced for next week, like all the Xbox marketplace info is pointing to.

Also, dat Aquapazza for Japanese PS3. We (aboo) in der!

Tsundere anime gurls 4 lyfe.

Ono got hated on so much that he got hate poisoning from all the hate he got. Gootecks left because of EGGSBAWKS LIVE.

Waiting for Skullgirls.

Why do you keep mentioning xbox crap in the psn thread? lol, seriously!

Anyway, in the "secret channel", wiz said that the ono thing was all a hoax, and that theres a lot of stuff happening internally at capcom. We'll see how it all ends up. i am hoping to finally get some time to play some fighting games again this weekend, but who knows. I woke up at 4am for gym time and its like this almost everyday, hardly any time for games. I still need to put in my 8-way into one of the TE sticks too.

The whole thing with Ono sounds pretty fishy. Seems like infinites, glitches and other complaints have eclipsed most of the coverage of SFxT. I still havent gotten a chance to play it yet. Are these complaints justified or is it just typical internet hate? I dont follow these stories too closely but it looks like Ono has had some sort of breakdown likely due to stress over sfxt. Its tough to have something you work hard on and pride yourself over to be shot down and I hope it doesnt prevent him from making future projects(darkstalkers 4?).
Ive been away from CAG for a while, anyone still playing UMVC, I play haggar/frank/hawkeye.

Snakemaster, you gotta link me a bigger copy of your avatar, I cant read it. I am a huge Primus/Claypool fanatic and through it have recently picked up an appreciation for Rush.

IMO, just pass on SF x T. The main problem is that most matches end in timeouts. It's because of how fast the timer counts down and the damage scaling. Not to mention that Evo announced that SF x T is strictly going to be 2v2 no gems. I know a lot of people don't have the chance or wish to go to evo, but when the world's largest fg tournament thinks this is how the game should be played, it's hard to convince avid fighting game fans otherwise. It gives less meaning to gem play and 1v1 play, even if you weren't planning on playing competitively.

The game is definitely not the "funnest" I've played. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, though I still prefer UMvC3 and AE2012. The hype is definitely lacking as well. Just watch a stream of SFxT and look at the stream monster response, I guarantee much negativity. With this whole predicament, I might have to join the brown side and actually pick up KoF...

As for Ono, even if this thing is all a hoax, I'm sure that this whole gem ordeal wasn't solely Ono's plan. Honestly, the whole gems thing was just a marketing ploy to rake in more money. Gem gameplay was secondary. Even though Ono was also responsible for the abomination that was Capcom Fighting Evolution/Jam, he also revived the fighting game genre with SFIV. Despite his "troll" nature, I hope he stays as Capcom's main fighting game producer.

Also, I'm always down to play dat Mahvel, and feel free people to sign up on the lists in the OP if you haven't already.

UMvC3 I'll give you as being possibly being more fun, but SFIV? SFxT fixed everything that was wrong with SFIV, imo. I simply don't see the "fun" in SFIV.
I dont know know of a shittier game then SF4, a game designed to punish people for pushing buttons. Dumbest shit ever.
Are you talking about frame traps? That shit is in every fighter and it's even worse in SFxT than it is in SFIV.

Frame traps are part of it, but its the fact that AE is Punish Fighter 4 essentially, thats how the majority of games are won. I know every fighter has it essentially (knowing how frame data works), but the entire entity of SF4 is revolved around it, you can at least roll out of the way in SFxT if they try and go for frame traps.

Was out in LA till 3 or so AM yesterday, so woke up late today and didnt go to the gym. After running my errands, i finally opened up my dual modded TE and replaced the 4-way gate with the 8-way gate and replaced the red bezel with a white one. Man, love the difference with both. The white bezel is what the stick should have came with, looks super classy and matches perfectly. The 8-way was such a help for me, i was really doing much much better with my inputs in 3s and SFxT.

That said, man i effing HATE playing against juri in SFxT, im not familiar with the character so i get thrashed quite a bit by all the gimmicks she has in the game, as im not used to any of it. I rarely rage in this game, but juri is definitely what does it for me. Otherwise had a blast playing online and noticed a lot of people were using gimmick stuff over and over repeatedly, pretty standard fare for the most part. Online was really great tonight as well, got 2 laggy matches the entire time i played, rest felt like local play.

SkullGirls...

North American PSN release will very probably be April 10th, but we are still awaiting final confirmation. And as you might expect, the PSN version will be $14.99.

I am happy boy!

Edit: Option, you dont show up right on my friends list, sometimes you will only show up on the very bottom with no info about if your on or not. I got your message right as I was signing off for the night, thought I got some juicy hate mail only to find I didnt have to be playing with idiots that whole time. One day we will actually play...

Gaysglue Cunt Shift Extended Ragna's Penis Edition wasn't worth getting. That's the name Paco gave it. Even at 20 bucks Option I doubt you would be happy with it. Enough people still play cs. Unless you want to play the lame modes it added or play as the one new character you might as well stick to CS.

I'm thinking about returning it and just playing CS. Since people still play it and Amazon will take back the game.

Well, SF x T DLC tomorrow, and supposedly the 12 characters are going to be available as well...

fuck.

Most likely a typo, and they're just listing all the known DLC regardless of release date. Otherwise, all that Sony money will be for naught.

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2012/...tent-listed-xbox-live-currently-not-purchase/

edit: yeah, eventhubs is just listing the character bundle dlc, it still comes out in the fall. Lately though, I'm thinking of dropping the game altogether. I can only take so much laggy jump fighter x timeout.

You got the name wrong. It's

Gaysglue Cunt Shift Extendz Ragna with two new frames of animation and Jin wearing Ragna's clothes with one new character and near full price.

That sounds about right. Arc systems is making Capcom look good at this point.

But Option... if you dropped Street Fighter X Tekken. I wouldn't have anyone to beat my ass anymore.;)

GGs esper and option. My internet at my house all of a sudden went down completely lol, first time happening since I got time Warner. I'm on my phone atm. Btw, damn you esper for that rolento miracle. I had that. And I hope option picked up juri just cause I hate her.

Yeah, I don't think my internet was the problem.

When I hosted, it was fine. And I got dat cawcks cable. Damnit PSN and SF X T and your broken matchmaking!

And it was my weaboo instincts and quest for the freaky that made me pick Juri. Your dislike for Juri is just icing on the cake.

Good games Esper and Blitz.

Me and you never have any connection problems. Last night Street Fighter X Tekken didn't play as bad as I expected considering it was during the the time my net isn't all that.

I've noticed the online to Blazblue and X Tekken isn't as picky as umvc3 is. I can play blaz/x tekken when my net is acting up and there isn't much difference. Now if I fire up umvc3 for example during that time its gonna play like complete ass.

I have no idea what the deal is with the matchmaking. Even on some psn endless streams the same exact things happen. The players would go to character select and it would freeze once the match started and kick back out to the lobby.

I know this is a little off topic but I didn't want to start a new thread for this. Does anyone have any recommendations for a relativity cheap fight pad for PS3? I am a casual player that mainly plays Marvel vs. Capcom, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter. I been using my regular PS3 controller but I just cant get used to the button lay out for fighters and need a fight pad but dont want to spend a fortune on one. I would like to keep it under 50 is possible. Thank you in advance

That depends do you play on the pad, or the analog stick?

Myself I'm a stick player, but I do have various pads laying around. Here are a few I can provide a little input:

Hori Fight Commander Pro 3 ($35):
D-pad controller with 6 button layout as follows.
S T R1
X C R2.
Overall the best all around pad for fighting games. The d-pad is fine, though not Sega Saturn quality. The buttons are ok, not too muddy and good response. Has some neat features like tilting the d-pad to conform with your hand or switch the shoulder buttons to L -R or R-L

Sega Saturn USB Pad ($?):
Got it off ebay, supposedly these are Sega "licensed" pads. Though my suspicions are that they're just Chinese 3rd party branded with Sega. Despite that, definitely best d-pad I've played with. The buttons are muddy and a little harder to engage than the PS3 or the Hori pads. Only has start button and no home button or select. As for the button layout, I can't quite remember when it's plugged into the PS3. Though I assure that the right most buttons had to be manually configured when switching between games. Don't get the ones from the Chinese sites, you'll have to get it from a certain ebay seller (litianedup or litianedup_wifi). Otherwise, a great pad, I personally like to use it for the Sega Collection for nostalgic purposes. I'd veture to say that the price on these aren't that high though it may be hard to acquire these days.

Pelican Versus Controller ($30):
This pad isn't quite a pad. It's an analog stick with microswitches, so essentially a mini-stick. The stick part is great and the buttons are a little clicky. The pad is fairly ergonomic as well, however many including myself question the build quality of the unit. It feels very flimsy and some report it breaking a few months after purchase.
Layout is as follows:
S T L1
X C R1.

The only other pad in this price range I could think of is the Madcatz PS3 pad. Though I haven't had a chance to acquire one of their later versions (wired). I'm sure someone else with more pad experience can provide some input as well.

gg's option in SC5,KOF, and Street Fighter X Tekken.

I take it you don't play random people in a fighter do you? I've noticed you ask me to play Street Fighter X Tekken quite a bit, but that's fine. I assumed it would be boring to you since you don't even have to try to beat a scrub like me or maybe you enjoy that.:bouncy:

Paco, guess which one of those fighters played the worst? I'll give you a hint... It wasn't Street Fighter X Tekken or SC5.

Nah, I play randoms. I'd rather play with friends though. Even if it looks like I'm plain winning, I'm still learning and figuring things out. So it helps me no matter what.

KoF is soo asssss.

SC5 was fun though, took me a while to remember how to play. Netcode is really good for that game.

Hey Jman, guess which one of us has friends locally to actually you know, get together and play games offline ;)

Guess which one has the stupidest mechanics in a fighting game. It isn't SC5 or KOF 13. It starts with Crap and ends with Com.

Yeah, I assume every Mexican knows how to play KoF. It's in their blood, just like how it's in their blood to make tortillas and mow the lawn. You're missing out jman.

Hey Option, you know that it's in our blood to live longer then you gringos? Studies show that Mehicans live four years longer then white people and almost ten years longer then black people despite higher blood pressure, higher cholestrol and lower access to health care. I guess the powers of tacos and burittos give us longevity. To eat another taco tomorrow bitch!
