CAG/PS3 Red Faction: Guerrilla Night [Thursdays @ 10pm EST]

I was actually going to pick up Borderlands today at Best Buy, but then I saw they're jumping on the B2G1 bandwagon next week. Soo... I have a few days to decide whether there are two more full-price games I want right now.
Pete, you should get the DLC before tonight if you're going to keep playing with us (and I'm hoping you are). It's cheap and Bagman is a ton of fun.
I had it last week! Monday. I would've been 15 minutes earlier if I didn't have to download it first. Problem is, now I'm kind of addicted to the single-player :whistle2:# and I might be getting company tonight, so I'll be on late if at all.

Good games last night. What we lacked in quantity we made up for with quality. And we are totally unstoppable in public games.

Ah, I don't think any of us realized that you had it.

Greetings from my new (lonely) home in Dallas! I won't have internet access in my apartment until November the 2nd so I won't be able to join you guys in anything for another week! Booooo.

Anyways please hold off on getting Borderlands so I can join you and we can be noobs together..... or not, your choice! :newbie:

Hope to be gaming with you guys asap and as a side note Uncharted has been very good so far but Batman was better!!! (So far)
Yes, two posts in a row from me. Sitting in a lot of traffic today.

Just mentally plotting out my videogame budget for the next couple of months and I was wondering: are any of you magnificent bastards planning on picking up Modern Warfare 2? I think the single player campaign will be cool but I'm pretty sure I don't care about the online component.
Hey look, two posts in a row from me too...

I'll be skipping Modern Warfare completely. I liked CoD4 but I didn't even like it enough to complete the single player campaign... dunno why, I just couldn't get ~~~~~hooked~~``` into it for some reason.

Well I guess I'm going to have to drop out halfway through RFG night on 11/12 to go play with my new MW2 friends. :nottalking:

We did say we were going to turn one of those red faction nights to an unofficial Uncharted night :p. I knew as soon as I left the game those invites were coming...

The weird thing is, if you are in Uncharted, go to the Party menu, invites for all games show up, so I had 13 invites in Uncharted lol.

Also, the other team destroying the bridge on fall factor during the CTF, only to realize that screwed them over and start rebuilding was hilarious.

That's when we thought comp was going to be fun.

I think the competitive is fun. The Plunder games I've played have been excellent and the rocket-launcher deathmatches are a blast with the cover system.

I'd happily turn our second RFG night into U2 if enough of you wanted to play. It's getting hard for me to muster enthusiasm for 2 RFG nights a week.

but how could you resist the rfg hilarity??

Just FYI, I sent invites to a bunch of you today.

I finished Uncharted 2 single-player, so I'm up for an U2 night whenever. No particular night is better than another for me, but with 2 kids and a wife, can't say I'd make it every time (just like I don't make RFG all the time either).
sweet ill be on all weekend hit me up

Anyone wanan do late night UC2 or Red Faction?
If RF:G liked my slow speed connection, I'd be down for some late night RF action, but right now I'm trying to play through Legends Of Wrestlemania.

Best Buy sale is live now... last chance to make your case for Infamous VS. Batman! :whee:

Also considering Beatles Rock Band, Demon's Souls.

Also WTF, Beatles Rock Band Wii is $60 MSRP?

Tough call. Both are fantastic, but I think I actually had more fun with Infamous. Blasphemy, I know.

WTF would someone even buy Beatles Rock Band for the Wii?

I think I'm going to do the BB deal later in the week and snag Ratchet and Clank, Brutal Legend, and...something else. Not sure yet.
What is the main night you guys play?
Mondays and Thursdays. It's in the thread title.

Turnout has been a little better on Mondays lately, but we get a pretty long list of names each night.

I've played Batman and it is a good game, but not insanely great like some make it out to be.

There's not enough gadgets and you don't get the ones you really need to explore the game world fully until VERY late in the game, which makes you have to backtrack over 90% of the game world.

Mind you, the game world IS well done in this game, but definitely very limited when compared to the scope of an InFamous or Prototype type of game.

I should really take my copy of this game back to my one buddies' house and let him finish it, then put it up on my TL, since it's just collecting dust otherwise.

Maybe because they only have enough disk space for like 3 new songs and want some variety? Za-winngg!

The third game is always the tricky one. I'm still wondering if I'm in that much of a hurry to play Batman or if I could switch it for something like Dragon Age in a week or so.

Couldn't disagree more.

I found the game to have a great balance of exploration, stealth action, and ballz 2 tha wallz action. As for your gripe with not getting all the gadgets upfront, did you happen to also find Super Metroid or Symphony of the Night annoying in that area? I'm just curious because a lot of people actually enjoy the Metroid template of unlocking new sections in previously explored areas.

Also I know I probably "seem" biased, because I'm a huge Batman fan, but I went into Arkham Asylum looking to pick the game apart, but I couldn't... because it was damn near perfect.

I like Hammers. ^_^

Dragon Age doesn't really appeal to me. I'm actually leaning towards Dead Space: Extraction (but I'm thinking the price might drop pretty quickly) or Halo ODST (the campaign looks like fun to me and I know I can re-sell/trade it pretty easily afterwards). Decisions, decisions.
I'll be on tonight after I finish Resistance 2.
Oh, yeah...this is the Red Faction thread, isn't it? ;)

I'll be on tonight, too!
I promise I won't be swayed away to playing another game tonight.
Unless you guys want to play something else...:p

Are you saying we're playing BF2? :whistle2:\"

I'd expect Dead Space Extraction to plummet pretty fast... I believe it only sold like 9000 copies in its debut week. Ouch.

I actually know almost nothing about Dragon Age and am interested solely because it's Bioware and Mass Effect was the best game ever ever ever.

I was interested in Dragon Age as well, but all reviews/reports make it sound like it is just a "decent" game which for Bioware is unacceptable. Oh yeah, I love hammers.

And wish I could hammer it up with you guys, but alas, not until next week. Stupid move. :(

Good stuff. I've decided to blame Flik for all these extended 7-person sessions we've had lately.

Hope that wasn't you rage quitting during that pistol DM, Randy.
I might not make it tonight
Ha! No, that wasn't it...I actually got kicked from the PSN for some reason.

My console wouldn't reconnect right away so I just took it as a sign that I should attempt to go to sleep at a reasonable hour. ;)

Well... at least that means you haven't forgotten about me. I feel so loved, or maybe hated, but that's ok because there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Or something like that.

Weird, I think the same thing happened to me later on. I got disconnected and then couldn't sign back on for over an hour while it said I was still online.

Just thought it was funny because you were like "I finally got a kill!" *disconnects forever*

I was talking about this "Flik" guy who used to play with us, not some random Batman guy who sometimes posts in here.

ya they were. too bad we didnt do the usual pub beatdown while i was still there.

kube: was it you that offered to play uncharted 2? me and sb need a 3rd person for some u2 now and then. maybe this wed. since hone02 bailed on us to play BF2 night...people and their old-ace games (looking at you metaly! :p)

i think thursdays are gonna become more of a wildcard night for me and sb. might show up late for rfg night on random nights. will always be there monday and whenever not playing something else, will show thursday too. so just a heads up. just conflicting schedule with a certain p00n02 person and uncharted 2. im sure well get over uncharted eventually so will be back to business as usual :)
Thank you to whoever answered "Run's house."
