CAG/PS3 Red Faction: Guerrilla Night [Thursdays @ 10pm EST]

I expect a detailed summary... g4tv.com is down at the moment. Someone should have told their IT department that E3 is this week.

Sounds like the magnet gun is more like a crazy "alt fire only grapple hook" from Just Cause 2 than a gravity gun from HL2.
You can fire your first magnet on the top of a large building, and your connecting shot at an enemy some large distance away. Our destruction engine allows the Magnet Gun to rip a giant slab of the wall from the building and then hurtle it straight into the enemy - or vice-versa. The beautiful thing about the Magnet Gun is that we still see new uses for the weapon even though we have had it in game for quite a long time now. We can't wait to see what everyone does with it!

Sweet, a grapple backpack was one of the things on my wishlist. Having it a be a gun instead is smart though, since it leaves room in the backpack for and endless supply of parachutes. ;)

Ignore my last tweet.
I didn't even know that video was yours, Randy. I was searching the most recently uploaded videos on YouTube, and found your video at the top.

Ha! As soon as Volition tweeted that they were going to be on G4 I scrambled to get my little Flip camera thing.

I wish the camera angle was a little further back.
Also for Munn to shut up.

Looked like the mech can do a rhino move, and looked like the character was wearing a backpack. :/

Awesome!! Thanks for getting that, Randy.

The magnet gun does look just like Just Cause 2, so that should be fun. Also, lasers. The close-in, Gears-style camera had me worried that it might be trickier to jump onto things. Then I watched the video again and noticed he never jumps even once. What's up with that?

Thanks for the link, Randy!

Also I didn't even realize this until now but if you order black market items back-to-back in Just Cause, you don't have to watch any of the animations each subsequent time. I think I was too hung up over the thought of having to skip through those again to ever order more than one thing at a time.

You'd have that army messenger bag if you paid (or payed... if I'm an idiot, I'm amazed at how many people I see using that) more attention to my links.

I was just going to post, "Regular Wednesday Game?". I guess were too far along to try and guilt trip someone else to play to get a full quest going .

Naw... Weren't you there Monday? zen's been guilt tripping random for a while now.
I'll be playing before... Who knows... I might be 50 by the time we start.

For zen (and probably freaky)
Chum Lee

I just rewatched that G4TV thing again... Ryan said "new enemies, different from what we've seen in the red faction universe before" but... there were non-human enemies in the first game. It'd be awesome if they are the same non-human enemies!
Metaly and Mr. B: You guys up for a bit of Tetris tonight around 8:30-9pm EST?

Also, a nice, big HD version of G4's RF:A E3 demo has been posted:
http://e3.g4tv.com/videos/46506/E3-2010-Live-Red-Faction-Armageddon-Demo/?quality=hd
I'll be there for Tetris. Is that supposed to be 9:30-10, or do you want to play early?

Shadow mode has sort of grown on me even though a lot of it seems like dumb luck getting those 100%s.

I meant that we would start sometime between 8:30 and 9, not that we'd play from 8:30 to 9. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I don't think I've tried the shadow mode, actually...I've mostly just been doing the online "items on" matches.

So, I've been thinking about starting a gaming podcast...you know, because there aren't any.

Also, it would give me a reason to go to E3 next year.

I know I've been wishing I could listen to you another hour or so every week... make it happen! :D
"Gaming with the GFB!"

What topics would you cover? Need some people to join you???

You know, there have been quite a few times listening to the Mobcast where I've thought it would be cool to do something similar. I really enjoy their format and they're always able to come up with interesting topics. And even though he hasn't been a Mobcast regular in forever, I think I could give Robert Ashley some competition in the just-barely-enthused, monotone droning department. (Just kidding, I love you, Robert!)

Also the horchata turned out pretty well:

Authenic Horchata recipe... must've been really tasty. Mmmm. ;)

Pour a hint of Khalua in your Horchata, and you've got something from the el cielo.

Oh shhhiiii...... Animal Crossing 3DS screens!

Looks like it's a little more developed than just a tech demo since the characters are taller and there's stuff like lamp posts around town. (Also a beach on the LEFT?!? Have I gone CRAZY??) But I'm pretty sure I have every single item shown in my ACWW catalog... Please don't make the exact same game again, Nintendo!

I've already got another recipe I want to try that sounds like it's a little more authentic. Depending on how ambitious I'm feeling I might grind my own almonds.
I know I've been wishing I could listen to you another hour or so every week... make it happen!
That can be arranged, DD...just give me your cellphone number and I'll start leaving you 3am voicemail tirades. ;)

I would definitely want other voices in the mix!

I'd want it to be funny, personal, and unique. There are tons of podcasts where people can get release dates and NPD numbers so I'd want to make sure it's not about gaming as a business. I'd want it to be more about gaming as a culture and a lifestyle. Video games would always be the center of the conversation but there should be discussion of music, movies, politics, etc., as well.

Obviously, I have a few ideas kicking around in my head but I haven't really fleshed anything out yet. We should brainstorm.

Look, I made vegan horchata:

Robert Ashley's awesome. A Life Well Wasted is pretty exceptional. He and John Davison are easily my favorite video game podcast guests. I've never listened to the Mobcast, though...I'll have to check it out.

A beach on the left? Weird. This must be Animal Crossing: Los Angeles. ;)

I love the headline, though: "Animal Crossing 3DS Screens are Already in Debt to Tom Nook".

Also, Nintendo would never re-heat the same game over and over and serve it up as a new product. Never!

Still...looks awesome. I want it.
Anybody thinking about buying Blur on Sunday for $20?

Apparently both Best Buy and K-Mart will have it on sale for $20, then there is a $20 off manufacturer coupon:

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264507

I'm interested in it, but I think I'd rather have Modnation Racers (but I'm not paying full price for it).
Wait... It's on sale for $20 and there's a $20 coupon? So it'd be free? I'd buy it for free.

Leave the messages at my googlevoice (304 twenty two 42 sixteen 0, It's really my GV number :)) number. I'll post them for everyone later.

Sounds like you're wanting to make something like "The Totally Rad Show" except with less suck. You know... we could just record the voice chat from Thursday night, you could have your podcast right there.

I thought most horchata was Vegan? Though in looking, I see some recipes do call for milk.

Also, someone posted the two awesome presentation from Konami in a different thread on CAG, so of course it needs reposted here.
Podcasts?! I'd be happy to be a guest!

Might not make it tonight....
Whoa whoa whoa...
Is this going to be an R rated podcast?
Wait... It's on sale for $20 and there's a $20 coupon? So it'd be free? I'd buy it for free.
Damnit, I guess two cups of coffee wasn't enough this morning. It'll be on sale for $40. Sorry, post is fixed now.

Gaming podcast? LOL. I've been thinking about doing something like that for years. Every year around this time I get the itch because PAX is coming up.

Nearly forgot, GAME NIGHT!

But then you would have to use your real name, it would sound weird people calling you by your username.

Also, hmm 20 coupon+10 RZ coupon+5 RZ cash= 5 dollar Blur, I might have to try that...
