CAG PSN Gamesharing #2 - Find/Create a Gameshare Group & Gameshare FAQ

Well in the first group share that I did here (which happens to be the only one right now :) ), we did the following:

1. Host created account.
2. Host gave all the group members username and pass.
3. Everyone logged in to the account and downloaded a free lbp costume (can be anything) to activate the account.
4. If the activation is successful, your spot is reserved, and no one can scam you. Payment does not start until everyone confirms that they have successfully activated the account.
5. Pay the host.
6. After all payments are complete, host buys the game.
7. Everyone logs in again to download the game/dlc

Well, that's freaking genius. Props to whoever came up with that way of setting up the share

I don't think that adds any security, the host could still run off with the money at step 5.

EDIT: Using a trusted middleman would greatly improve the security of selling individual shares.

Well the host was TigerLust, my friend was in contact with him. But it was probably his idea.

And yeah, there is always a risk that the host can run off with the money but oh well, there is no other way, is there? :)

^ It reduces the risk greatly. There is still some risk but now you can't have people that aren't hosts scamming others. So it technically reduces the risk by a factor of 5.

I'd be up to participate on a group with:

-High Velocity Bowling add-ons (20 outta 29, we can vote)

-other sports games? PM with suggestions, or here...

I was thinking high velocity bowling or the pool sharks game (could have that name wrong) with some other PSN DLs that were rated well for the Move.

I've tried the Beat Sketcher demo and am quite thrilled with it. Even as a demo, it feels like a complete game/app. I feel the full version would be a bit more encompassing. From my experience with the demo, i can't see how anyone wouldn't agree.

I suggested echochrome considering all the positive feedback i've heard. I'm definitely open to suggestions as to what to "share". I would like to have one (share) that is about 3 games to really get the full worth out of the active account.

I've done it this way in the past, too. It takes longer, but it's basically scam-proof. Any time you're not sure about everyone involved, it's the way to go. I didn't do it on my last game share for some reason, but I will in the future.
Thinking of starting a Move gameshare. Lemme know how this sounds. Would also be willing to add others if everyone is fine with it.

Beat Sketchers (amazing) + echochrome (supposedly amazing) + a full DL title (bowling, pool, whatever)

looking at about $12 per person or so, depending on the full title people want.
I only have $4 PayPal atm, but I could also contribute a 20 piece DLC code for High Velocity Bowling to the account if I can get in (Dunno how much it is worth)

Just search in specifically PS3 downloadable content if you want to avoid PSP stuff, and vice versa.

Minis are playable on both. Anything that says PSP is PSP only (and vice versa for PS3).

Angry Birds that comes out tomorrow is a mini, so it'll be playable on both.

Genius. But it's just an extra step if you're trading with gameshare veterans

thanks. that clears it up for me. minis means both then. and all ps1 games like ff7 are ps3 compatible too right? so its all ps1 games,ps3, and minis for the ps3 then.

Yeah, Playstation games, like minis, can be played as both, but I think minis are formatted for 16:9, whereas PS games are not, they're still 4:3.

Oops. I didn't realize how I worded that. I didn't mean to give that impression - nobody scammed. :) I meant that I didn't feel the need to set it up that way in my last game share, but that it's generally a good practice to follow.
That's the first I heard of this. Considering that feedback isn't supposed to be left for gameshares, I'm not convinced this is fair. (Looking at your 20 feedback, many of your 20 transactions fit the description of game shares. Based on the "rules", those people shouldn't have left feedback.). I've completed many game shares here, but have 0 feedback. It doesn't mean I'm going to send my information first to someone who signs up and quickly completes a couple of feedback-generating transactions.

Which brings me to the inconsistency of the ratings. Whether it's called a PSN "group buy" or a "game share" or "Paypal for PSN game", it's the same thing. Trading one share for another share is still a game share. The guidelines on feedback need to be expanded. Next, they need to either a) delete any feedback for gameshare or b) permit feedback for gameshares across the board. Personally, I think there needs to be a feedback mechanism for gameshares.
I don't mean to be rude, but only a couple of the accumulated feedback I have are from gameshares and those were probably left by accident or someone didn't know the rules. Please don't assume anything. Most of them are from code purchases or game purchases, which I did not get by accessing someone else's account. According to the rules, that is fine as code purchase feedbacks count.

However, I do agree with you that the feedback system is inconsistent and somewhat irregular, but I wasn't sure how gameshares worked with regard to that anyway and I was just working based on how the rest of CAG works. I'm fairly new to gamesharing, so all I have to go on was what people like bastiartadi have said from other forums and the OP.
Looking for Quest For Booty share
I've also been looking for a share for a while. We could start a new share if we can find three others.

Looking for a group for Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty - $3 a share via Paypal
I can host

1) vgossain (host)
2) stvalmass?
3)
4)
5)

Anyone else interested?

No worries, I didn't mean to be rude either - I was more using your feedback as an example to show that there's a bit of a problem with the current system.

Perhaps we could start a movement to get a feedback system created for game shares and similar transactions?

I'm in if someone can explain to me how these gameshare things work. What happens if you don't want the game anymore?

FYI if anyone purchased a gameshare from Anjexu

Just noticed this when I was doing a check on all my gameshare accounts..The gameshare account that I bought from him has been banned from PSN, so don't delete the games and account or you wont be able to re-download it. The games still work though so, but can't resell it anymore.

You can sell it to someone who wants it at (ideally) 1/5th of the current selling price.

So if someone wants to buy your game when you're done with it, you basically played it for free.
Selling Cod Classic (has plat) FINAL SHARE $3.
Bought this. Prompt response upon payment. Very smooth exchange :)

That's interesting. Was this account used for some other reason besides gamesharing? How could you tell? Was it because you couldn't access the PSN?

You will get a message account has been blocked when you try to login to PSN.

Yeah this was just a gameshare account, with about $125 worth of games. Only thing that comes to mind is he filed a chargeback with his CC hence the account was blocked.

That would be quite awesome. Does anyone know a good petition hoster or should there just be a thread asking for it?

If that would work, that should cover more than your end on everything.

You'd be the 3rd, counting 1HiHitTexan who sent me a msg last night.

He wanted some tumble game as well that Id be down for.

Yeah, what bastiartadi said - each of us pays $3 (for a total of $15) now and we can download the game. If you want to sell your share later, you could sell it for $3 or whatever - after you sell it, you won't be able to access it anymore (only 5 people can have it downloaded at a time). Let me know if I should add you to the list.

Once we get 2 more people then we can start the buying and sharing process.

Selling: MAG (EU PSN store version. Works on all consoles, but requires EU PSN Store DLC, I have NA)

Buying: MAG, Borderlands (both most be NA versions) -- I don't need any DLC for either.

Strategy Games long term sharegroup

I see that some people are still interested in shares in long term groups (it saves space for making other users etc...), and we still have one spot available in my Strategy games long term share group. The other 3 members are friends of mine so I know this group will be successful but we've been looking for a 5th member for a little while now.
Here are the details below, if anyone is interested, please send me a PM or express interest in the thread, thanks.

Hello everyone, I am building up a 5 person PSN share group based around strategy games, tower defense games and especially online enabled psn strategy games.
I am only looking for serious individuals that are interested in this genre and could commit to a long term group (ie: don't drop off offline in 2 months never to be seen again).
I already have 3 friends interested in it, so we only need one more person to join us.
What are you getting out of this? Not only are you getting those games at a huge discount (80% discount since we share the price 5 ways, so a 10$ game is only 2$ for each member) but you are also getting friends to play said games with. (well at least for the online enabled ones )

The initial group purchases will be:
Worms 2 Armageddon (online play)
Lemmings
and 2-3 games from the list below

Future purchases to be considered:
Swords and Soldiers (online play)
Hoard (online play)
Age of Booty (online play)
Risk: Factions (online play)
Comet Crash
Mushroom Wars
Crystal Defenders
Chu-Chu Rocket (hopefully this will make its way on the PSN soon)

I have already run a gameshare group in the past so I am familiar with all the steps and I have ironed out all the details, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. The first group buy-in will be 10$ per person.
If you are interested, just post your PSN name and I will contact you with further details, etc...
