a majority of the slots on my ps3 are phantoms. I'd get rid of them but I'm constantly seeing myself playing them every once and a while with the only exception being destiny which I'm playing everyday lol. Really wished Sony gave the ps3 more user slots. 16 ain't enough

Do you guys think its safe to put my ps4 on my macbook box for a temporary fix to having it off the carpet. Ive only had it for a couple months, and only run it for an hour or two at a time, and the carpet is really short. Nonetheless Im super paranoid about the heat, and its buildup, and something happening. So do you guys think its ok, or have any other suggestions? Thanks

When I had my 360 I set it up on a cardboard box - ghetto style. Never overheated on me.

I was in a super rush when I typed that. I had my PS4 originally in an open face entertainment center. It sat flush on top of my cd changer. There was open air all around it but being in an alcove like that really heated things up. I decided to move it out to a wire mesh gaming stand from my ps1 days. It is open all around with the base sitting on the metal wire rack. I have noticed significant less heat and fan noise.

I concluded that the sides and bottom need to be open for the best heat dissipation. I would suggest to anyone to raise the system off whatever you using to put it on. So in your case, I would have the Mac box then maybe 4 books, 4 hockey pucks (for the real ghetto look), basically anything that gets the bottom off the surface about an inch. Use something steady so you don't cause any damage by a falling ps4 and test your ps4 on that.

To me, that is the best way to keep heat down.

Yeah, I noticed that the heat mainly builds up at the bottom of the system and it was getting trapped there in the carpet, even though it was very short. Then the air flows hot through the back, which isn't as much an issue, because I have a lot of space and put it next to an air vent running cool air. That was my main concern though, that it was running too hot when I had it on the carpet and it would trap and fry the circuit board or short out the fans or something, even tho my hours were limited.

It was definitely time to move it, because I haven't been able to cut my time short in mgs and it will get even harder with fallout 4 and battlefront and so on. I definitely want to invest in a center and make a nice set up, but I barely have the resources currently so I just need a quick fix. Thanks for the advice and ill be sure to follow it. I know how stingy Sony can be and I want to do everything to ensure Im not messed over, even tho I just bought the thing brand new.

The stand I have is very small. Basically just bigger than a milk crate. Two shelves for my system and games and two holders on the side. Maybe 20 bucks back then.

Uncharted 4 currently has what appears to be a pricing error on the Canadian PS Store. It's showing up for preorder at $59.99, where it should be like $75 - $80. If anyone feels like preordering it now that's a savings of like $15 USD.

Thanks for this, I'll keep an eye out when I'm in store so I can pick one up. After two hours, the box passed the temporary test and there was surprisingly minimal heat build up. I still wish the ps4 was given the XB1 treatment with a bigger body for room to run quieter and stay cooler. The xb1 is still a manageable size and sleek to look at. Nonetheless, we're at Sony's mercy when it comes to that aspect of the PS4, everything else is great imo.

Precisely, my "do a couple side ops for an hour" turned into "do side op 82" turned into "now i gotta finish mission 12" and here I am four hours later... lol. Fantastic game though, really glad other people seem to think so as well.

Im hoping some people with more knowledge on the subject can chime in here.

My friend and i have beem gamesharing Destiny and all expansions on PS4. His account is set Primary on my console. All content has been purchased on his account. Now we havent had a problem but now with taken king coming some weird stuff is happening. For instance when i log into my console as his account it gives me the countdown til taken king goes live but when im logged in as me i see no such thing. Also when i load up destiny it prompts me to pre order taken king but when i log in as him it registers that its already been pre ordered.

Is it possible that they blocked the ability to gameshare taken king by requiring the license for all of their other content in order to play? Or come september 15 will it unlock for me as usual? (Blame any typos on mobile btw)
