CAG Socom Thread-SONY SHUTTING DOWN SERVERS AUGUST 31 for S1-CA Tue&Sun10pmEST

I'm still in search of a good weapon combination.

But so far I got this and it's working out fairly well.

Body Armor: Light Upper and Lower
Primary: M16 with Medium Scope (add a laser for some lazer tag)
Secondary: The lightest pistol w/ silencer
Gear: None and None

I find myself fairly fast moving around. Though my weaknesses are mainly close range combat. I can sort of mask this if I learn how to spam the burst fire mode on the M16. However, my aiming sucks, and I still need to tweak the aiming options, they are not quite ideal.

Also, since I have no gear, unfortunately, no kills with a frag (I never could get frag kills) or use of any useful items for that matter. I just have to make due with my increased running speed.
 
I've gotten more than a few kills on you because I saw your laser, option. :) xxx too, but I think he stopped using it.

I'm thinking of trying out heavy armor since I seem to get into more drawn out firefights than I do situations when I need to run a lot. Usually I just end up running into people's grenades anyway. Maybe if I were slower I'd get there after they explode. :lol:

Option if you can learn to shoot the M4 in bursts, that would be an excellent loadout. Reason is the full auto can help you with those face to face gunfights. Plus I think the M4 is lighter than the M16

As for metaly, your gunfights always do seem to last longer than most. Give Heavy upper body light lower body a shot. Might help

I need to move my knife button or something because I always push the left stick by accident in the middle of some shootout.

Heavy armor is awesome! That gigantic game was more fun than I expected. Sorry I had to jump out suddenly.
 
Given the choice, I'd go with medium-size games (12-16 is good) because it means I don't have to spectate as long in those rounds where I'm the first one out, but those big ones were a nice change of pace once in a while.

And yeah, crazy stuff happens + more kills. That one round where MisterB and I got attacked by like six of their guys at once was nuts. They just kept pouring out of this hallway and we stacked up their bodies nicely. :lol:

Yeah that was great, why didn't they throw grenades either before entering, or after seeing 3 people there? (our teamate died really quick) I thought the last guy was going to get you, I warned you, but you just put him down no problem.
 
I would play, but it's BSG finale for me tonight. I wish I had the downloaded version of the game, I would be more inclined to play if I didn't have to swap discs.
 
Yeah I wish I had PSN version as well. I hate playing this game as a lone wolf. I guess I need to play more Elim rooms anyways

What is BSG?

I would have played but I gave up waiting for PSN to come back on, just watched the end of the hockey games and then the late tournament games.

Battlestar Galactica. Pretty disappointing finale, but after the last season and a half I sort of expected it.

I'll be playing some SOCOM later for sure.
 
Ive got some work to do but plan on getting some Socom in around 10:30. Hopefully all 3 of us are online. Im bored of playing with randoms. And Im not nearly as good without the clan helping me out

Playing with random people is never as much fun. The CAG nights are always a blast, but I'm really thankful that there a few of you out there that are addicted to this game the way I am. I need my daily 5 hour fix

I'll never understand the whole confrontation rating, I was a 2 for a round and then after the next round I was a 0 again (which is probably my true rating anyway).

I'm still confused during that last breach game last night, how the hell they breached and planted within like the first minute. Then all you guys just got shot to hell, while I stupidly fell down between two barriers leaving me completely useless lol.
 
ill be back wednesday or thursday i hope. my ps3 is in texas but not in sonys hands so much for 2nd day air .
 
Yeah the S@S clan on Breach love to rush the bomb site. That is their go-to strategy.

Yo md is that Pio-Neer dude a CAG? He was raging last night on John_Mclain. It was pretty funny & I couldnt get the mic to intervene.

Honestly I dont know what my deal was last night. I was just getting owned left and right. My Confrontation rating went from 6 down to a 2. I am still fairly certain it is broken though. Gonna get on and hop in an Elim room to try and get this bad taste outta my mouth.

Also I got the Strategy Guide coming for $5. Hopefully that can help us out a little. I still dont know where all the detonator switches are in the game.
 
i think pio is cag friendly as he plays with us on cag nights decent player likes to win .

im jonsing to play damn. i cut back on cigs and focus since i cant play what a shame and i think i start work this week as well so no more marathon sessions well maybe some

I wonder if the new maps(wishful thinking) will have blow up spots . i say before the end of May we will get 1. hopefully the next few days go quick and ill be back in action

Hi, All-

I wanted to give you an update on where things stand since Patch 1.41. The team is working on a 1.42 patch to fix a few issues including the random respawn issue. The team is working to get this patch released as soon as possible. We will have more information on the release timing once they have a final candidate.

Work also continues on Patch 1.50 and we will keep you posted as to when to be looking for that one.

Thanks for all of your feedback and we will roll out this fix as soon as possible.

m_d I kept your knives warm for you, they got used 3 times tonight.

I have to say best Quick Match ever. Poor guy, getting killed by pistols twice, then knifed twice in a row.

Good to end the night on a high note with that plant, even if we stupidly ran to the wrong plant zone at first.

Still in Hawaii. I just finally have an internet connection again. I'll be back late Wednesday. I should be back in Socom either Wednesday evening or Thursday for sure. The trip has been pretty amazing. I've played some golf at some crazy nice courses, walked across fields of dried lava, snorkeled with giant sea turtles and taken in some beautiful scenery. I'm really missing the nightly games though. I feel for you with your broken ps3. Hopefully Sony doesn't sit on it too long.

Now I'm jealous, I may be truly terrible, but I've been dying to get out onto a course since its starting to warm up. Just waiting for my dad to heal up from knee surgery. This is the year I finally stop choking and break into double digits...
 
I finally made it down to the high 90s last year! Hoping to hit in the 80s at least 1 time this summer. But if I was playing where the Doral was held I would easily be in the 110s

Before children and wakeboarding I used to play to a 1 handicap. Most rounds were in the mid to low 70's. I had several opportunities but could never card a round in the 60's. I always seemed to choke on the last hole or two. I would play between 27-36 holes a day with my first 18 in before 8am. Having a teacher's schedule in the summer does have it's perks.
