I finally picked up a $20 PSN card at GS yesterday with some credit I had from flipping free game so I'll have cold front for tomorrow night!
 
ima try to make it . my phat is shitting the bed so i think its time to go to the slim . so hopefully its as painless as deactivating the pphat and jjust re downloading to the sllim .

I think there is software built into the new firmware that transfers your stuff from one ps3 to another by Ethernet, I don't know the exact details though.

I can only speak for myself but I have zero interest in getting MAG, I plan on buying less shooting games, not more.

I had the beta, but since it was such a huge download, I decided not to. Still looks cool, and with all the games I have I probably wont get it, still looks good though.

Server Side Update Posted by Confrontation Online Team

It's been a few weeks since Cold Front was launched and it has been a great success. We hope you have been enjoying the new maps and features included in this DLC.
We are working on a server side patch to be launched in the next day or so. It will include the following updates:

  • Clan ladder kick fix
  • Medley Update (added 4x4 & 8x8 Demo and Elimination games) - note: there will be further updates as we continue to refine the medley system
  • Team Tournament Fix - Our apologies to all those who entered the recent tournaments- they will restart once this fix is verified.
We are also working on Patch 1.61 which will contain some other updates and fixes. We will release more information on it here on SOCOM.com when we get closer to its launch.


Smog, I guess I'm technically wrong when I said there would not be anymore patches. I still believe there will not be anymore that contain major changes like 1.5 or 1.6.

problem with that is i have 170gb or so of stuff on that drive and i want to put that drive in the slim as well. seem like i have a shitload of downloading to do lol

for now im just gonna put SC and CF on the 120 then redo everything another day

and that server stuff was known just not something to write home about when 1.61 we will yell about it

Id certainly play it with our socom group though. id probably play nearly anything with all you guys.

I was teetering on darksiders and then saw that with the $10 credit i could get me2 for about the same price. not like I need more games.

Question. If I pick up a weapon on the ground, do I get to keep that in my collection? Or is it just for the rest of that match?

No I'm trying to get at least one kill with every weapon, both faction weapons and specialization weapons. You don't get to keep any guns, once you pick up a gun, its yours until you die or side switch happens.
 
Other than the knife fight, last night was a lot of fun. It was awesome to have such a large turnout. Good job on finding a 16x16 room. It was nice to be able to play a few games without needing to resend invites after each one and the fact that MisterB discovered he actually loves big maps with lots of people and many many snipers.
 
So, I've been meaning to get back into SOCOM (I know I've been saying this for a while) but life has been hellacious and my buddies all ditched SOCOM for MW2.

I have a few questions that have probably already been asked and answered.

I did not buy the map pack so:

1) can I still play the game without the map pack?

2) is there a separate playlist/servers for those with/without the map pack?

3) is it like COD where the new maps will randomly come into the rotation and I would just get kicked out?

4) did all of you guys buy the map pack?

5) WTF is up with the $15 price tag on the map pack?!? Didn't /6 screw us over enough?

6) anything else I should know?

Also, as someone mentioned earlier in this thread, make a new account and user, and bite the bullet and pay full price. Than, sell the shares to other people if they want it.

I would love to get back into socom but I missed the map pack when it was $10. Anyone have any gameshares left? I have paypal just name you're price. I also have PAIN to gameshare as a trade.
 
I swear I was going to get on SOCOM last night but I had to show the wife Critter Crunch and 5 minutes turned into a couple of hours.

Man did I get lucky that last breach round. The kill of the guy going for the drain was complete luck, that guy must have been pissed :lol:, I was just trying to wound him for his trip back down.

Under 20 headshots left until I can be rid of these shotguns... Then its on to MGs to finish off all my weapon elites.

I got my smgs elite the other week, but have no idea which weapon to move to next. Really, don't want to lose my motoko, but with the ladder matches, its probably better to just keep swithching em since it doesn't matter.

Working on Assualt Rifles, but they feel so inaccurate to me.
 
Hi all. I just got SOCOM last week and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Either I am really bad(which is probably true) or everyone is so good I just can't keep up. Is there a server you all play on regularly? I'd like to see if I have some real fun before I decide on returning the game!
